Counter-Pressure Deep Drawing and its Application in the Froming of Automobile Parts

  • Sheet metal forming with hydraulic counter-pressure has several advantages compared with conventional drawing, such as higher forming limits, higher accuracy of formed parts and the achievement of complicated formed shapes. About 50 special press machines have already been used in Japan for manufacturing lighting reflectors, aircraft parts and automobile parts. This report descirbes the techniques and the equipment used in the application of process.

  • The objective of this study is to find the traits of the automobile parts industry in Korea and to analyze the performance of overseas market research. Considering the characteristics of the automobile parts industry & overseas market research, the proposed hypothesis are based on practical business in exporting & importing enterprises. A questionnaire was used to analysis the performance of overseas market research. According to the findings, first. oversea market research in the automobiles parts industry should carry out by various means because of the performance & traits differ from industry to industry. second, direct oversea market research(ex, trade exhibition) is better than indirect overseas market research due to high efficiency. finally, to support exporting company, the various data of economic, trade, international commerce should improve the quality.

한국자동차기업의 이란진출을 위한 전략제안 (Some Suggestions for Korean Automobile Industry to Branch out into Iran)

  • 미국이 이란에 대한 1차 제재를 제외한 나머지 경제제재를 해제함에 따라 이란은 글로벌 자동차기업들의 해외직접투자 대상으로 급부상했다. 이 연구는 이런 배경에서 한국의 자동차산업이 이란에 진출하는 방법에 대한 전략적 제안을 하고 있다. 이를 위해 이란의 자동차산업과 이란의 특징에 대해 먼저 탐구하였으며, 시장 상황에 대한 정량적 정성적 분석을 하고 있다. 승용차부문에서, 한국의 완성차기업들은 미-이란 관계의 진전을 좀 더 지켜보면서 대신 CKD를 수출하는 것이 바람직할 것으로 보인다. 그러나 이란 정부가 CKD의 수출만으로는 만족하지 못할 것이므로, 부품회사들은 미리 진출시키는 것이 바람직할 것이다. 부품회사들의 경우에는 해외직접투자, 라이센스 방식의 진출, 그리고 합작기업의 형태가 모두 가능하다. 이를 통해 자동차기업들은 부품현지화 비율 규제를 만족시킬 수 있다. 이렇게 투자한 부품회사들은 나중에 조건이 호전되어 완성차기업들이 진출했을 때 현지의 서플라이 체인 구축에 핵심역할을 하게 될 것이다. 또 이란에 구축하게 될 자동차 생산기반은 이란을 넘어서 중동-북아프리카 지역의 수출전략기지화 하는 것도 제안할 수 있다. 수출기지화 한다면 동유럽에 구축된 생산기반과 역할 분담 모델이 필요할 것이다. 이런 전략은 전체적으로 보면 부품우선진출 전략이라고 할 수 있을 것이다. 상용차부문의 경우, 천연가스산업을 이란에 진출하는 전략적 고리로 사용할 것을 제안한다. 이란 정부는 천연자원 개발을 강력하게 희망하고 있다. 따라서 완성차기업들은 CNG버스를 생산하고 에너지기업들은 천연가스를 시굴 생산하는 연계진출 방안이다.

  • In order to reduce the weight of automobile parts, automobile parts using aluminum alloy are being developed. Aluminum alloy for automobile parts is mainly made of Al6xxx (Al-Mg-Si) type alloy, which is excellent in hot forming property, and it can increase mechanical properties by the use of heat treatment. In this study, hot forming was performed using Al6082. Before the hot forming, the forming analysis was performed using the DEFORM-3D finite element analysis program in this case. For the forming analysis, the heat transfer coefficient was derived from the experiment, and the forming analysis was performed by applying it. At the forging analysis, the temperature of Al6082 material was set to 813K and that of the mold was set to room temperature. After the forging analysis, the experiment was performed, and the forging analysis and the experimental results were compared.

The Influence of Origin Regulations on the FTA Utilization and Export Performance of Automobile Parts Companies

  • Purpose - This study examined the Rules of Origin (RoO) as a factor affecting free trade agreements' (FTA) utilization and analyzed the causal relationship and the effects of these factors on the export performance of automobile parts companies. Design/methodology - We analyzed and verified the impact of FTA utilization and the export performance of automobile parts companies by dividing the characteristics of the RoO into complexity and uncertainty. Following which, various statistical analyses were conducted on the interrelationships among these variables. Findings - This research analyzed the effect of the RoO factors of complexity and uncertainty on the use of FTA and the export performance of automobile parts companies. We found that these characteristics of RoO were generally related to and affected the FTA use and export performance of these companies. Based on this, this study's investigation into the characteristics of the RoO would then help companies in better utilizing the FTA, as well as providing suggestions on how to effectively respond to the application of the FTA in the future. Originality/value - Companies that want to utilize FTAs in international trade must follow the RoO. In the Regional Trade Agreement (RTA), the country-of-origin is a key factor, with the RoO being an important requirement for the application of preferential tariffs. These regulations are a requirement for receiving FTA preferential treatment; however, they also cause difficulties to companies in using the FTA.

Evolution of Inter-firm Technology Transfer and Technological Capability Formation of Local Parts Firms in the Thai Automobile Industry

  • This paper investigates the evolution of 'inter-firm' technology transfer in the Thai automobile industry, which has gradually been integrated into global production network of some specific automotive models(one-ton pickups). This paper discusses the linkage between the role of automobile assemblers in transferring technology and the way their strategic changes bring about heightened demands on the technological capacity of suppliers and the contents of technology transfer. With higher competition at the global level, local suppliers are required to improve their technical and managerial skills, especially in the area of 'product engineering' capability. The authors examine the ways local firms have adapted to these changes in their environments, as well as the ways they utilize inter-firm relationship with automobile assemblers as a means to improve their own technological capabilities. The dynamic process of capability formation in local parts firms, through intensive efforts and learning inducements brought about by inter-firm relationships, are also discussed.

자동차 부품 수요의 예측 모형 개발 (Development of the Forecasting Model for Parts in an Automobile)

  • This paper deals with demand forecasting of parts in an automobile model which has been extinct. It is important to estimate how much inventory of each part in the extinct model should be stocked because production lines of some parts may be replaced by new ones although there is still demands for the model. Furthermore, in some countries, there is a strong regulation that the automobile manufacturing company should provide customers with auto parts for several years whenever they are requested. The major characteristic of automobile parts demand forecasting is that there exists a close correlation between the number of running cars and the demand of each part. In this sense, the total demand of each part in a year is determined by two factors, the total number of running cars in that year and the failure rate of the part. The total number of running cars in year k can be estimated sequentially by the amount of shipped cars and proportion of discarded cars in years 1, 2,$\cdots$, i. However, it is very difficult to estimate the failure rate of each part because available inter-failure time data is not complete. The failure rate is, therefore, determined so as to minimize the mean squared error between the estimated demand and the observed demand of a part in years 1, 2,$\cdots$, i. In this paper, data obtained from a Korean automobile manufacturing company are used to illustrate our model.

  • In this paper, it was performed to protect the remanufacturing industry of domestic automobile part and grasp the latest tendency of remanufacturing industry of domestic automobile part for development of remanufacturing technology and economical support of government. Research on the present statue of the remanufacturing industry was indicated that the number of remanufacture enterprises about automobile part, the annual, the number of employee in remanufacture and the type of remanufacturing. The general problems were presented which blocked the activities of domestic automobile part. It was also presented that problem of remanufacturing technology side and quality assurance of remanufactured automobile part and found out solution.

  • Recently, in the field of automobile industry, to solve the problem of reducing the weight of automobile for the improvement of fuel efficiency and the protection of environment, the aluminum alloy parts have been substituted for the steel parts. However, the aluminum alloy does not have as good mechanical property as the steel part. To improve the mechanical property, the semi-solid die casting process is performed to make automobile parts. In the fabrication of semisolid material the control of the liquid segregation is very important to improve the material properties of aluminum alloy. In the present paper we examine the influence of the liquid segregation by the injection conditions in the semi-solid die casting has been investigated.
