3D 공간정보를 활용한 터널 설계 자동화 기술 개발 및 적용 사례 : 남해 서면-여수 신덕 국도 건설공사 BIM기반 설계를 중심으로 (Development and Application of Tunnel Design Automation Technology Using 3D Spatial Information : BIM-Based Design for Namhae Seomyeon - Yeosu Shindeok National Highway Construction)

  • 정부는 건설산업의 생산성 혁신을 위해 BIM 기반 스마트 건설기술 활성화방안을 지속적으로 발표하고 있다. 설계단계에서는 BIM 데이터와 다른 첨단기술을 융합하여 설계 자동화와 최적화 수행을 목표로 한다. 국내 해저터널 사업인 남해 서면-여수 신덕 국도 건설공사 기본설계에서는 터널설계 프로세스에 따라 3D 공간정보를 이용한 터널설계 자동화 기술을 개발하여 BIM 기반의 설계를 수행하였다. 터널의 선형설계에 제너레이티브 디자인 기법을 사용하여 만 여건 이상의 케이스를 36시간 내에 도출하고, 설계자가 정의한 목적함수의 정량적 평가를 수행하여 설계자가 요구하는 조건의 최적 선형을 도출했다. AI 기반의 지반분류와 3D Geo Model을 구축하여 최적 선형의 경제성 및 안정성을 평가하였다. AI 기반의 지반분류는 시추 코어 1공당 약 30종의 지반분류를 수행하여 그 정밀도를 향상시켰고, 3D Geo Model의 경우 시공 중 추가되는 지반 데이터를 누적할 수 있다는 점에서 그 활용도를 기대할 수 있다. 3D 발파설계의 경우 Dynamo 상에서 노선상의 모든 보안물건을 검토하여 최적 장약량을 5분 만에 도출하고, 직관적이고 편리한 시공관리를 위해 3D 공간상에 설계 결과를 시각화함으로서 시공 중에 직접 활용할 수 있도록 했다.

  • There has been a lot of research on and release of commercial systems that enable evaluation and visualization of construction methods. These have enabled the selection of good construction plans. However, the process in which engineers build 3D geometry, formulate a schedule and eventually synchronize them is still a time-consuming process. Changing any aspect of the geometry or the schedule and re-linking them is also time-consuming. Therefore, the engineers may compromise on getting the best solution. This paper describes a technique to automate the generation of multiple sets of schedules, quantity takeoffs and 4D visualization from a single 3D model.

  • Current methods for construction site modeling employ large, expensive laser range scanners that produce dense range point clouds of a scene from different perspectives. Days of skilled interpretation and of automatic segmentation may be required to convert the clouds to a finished CAD model. The dynamic nature of the construction environment requires that a real-time local area modeling system be capable of handling a rapidly changing and uncertain work environment. However, in practice, large, simple, and reasonably accurate embodying volumes are adequate feedback to an operator who, for instance, is attempting to place materials in the midst of obstacles with an occluded view. For real-time obstacle avoidance and automated equipment control functions, such volumes also facilitate computational tractability. In this research, a human operator's ability to quickly evaluate and associate objects in a scene is exploited. The operator directs a laser range finder mounted on a pan and tilt unit to collect range points on objects throughout the workspace. These groups of points form sparse range point clouds. These sparse clouds are then used to create geometric primitives for visualization and modeling purposes. Experimental results indicate that these models can be created rapidly and with sufficient accuracy for automated obstacle avoidance and equipment control functions.

  • The introduction of newly developed intelligent and user-friendly robotics has opened a new era in shipbuilding. Together with traditional and low-cost mechanization a record level of welding automation rate has been achieved in the construction of cruise vessels. In the paper modem applications and recent developments of welding automation and robotics in shipbuilding have been described and some forecast for the future trends are given. Development in the field of shipyards will be continued with accelerated speed and we shall have interesting prospects for the near future. New laser techniques can boost the shipyards in a revolutional way when production is rapidly changing, materials will be lighter and quality demands are becoming more strict.

  • As the 21st century signifies an information-oriented society, the computer integration takes place in all walks of human presence. Needs for computer and network-integrated automation present new challenges in military as well as commercial facility systems engineering. Since the first intelligent building appeared in USA in 1984, it gradually became an essential capability for the building industry requirement these days. Intelligent Building System(IBS) is evolving to be very complex because there are many subsystems such as telecommunication(TC), office automation(OA), building automation(BA), security, construction environments, etc. During the planing phase of IBS development, therefore, a disciplined systems engineering must be performed to analyze stake- holder's requirements to build an optimized system while minimizing trial-and-error expenses and risks. This paper presents a conceptual design of BAS applying systems engineering methods. The contribution of this study includes the development of IBS subsystem specification for building automation subsystem, which is a part of IBS, using the methodology of requirement analysis, functional analysis, synthesis, and verification. A computer-aided systems engineering s/w, RDD-100, was used to improve the system design efficiency and to promote the product design knowledge management for reuse in later design programs.

  • This paper suggests a specific model that could efficiently improve the interaction and the interface between MES(Manufacturing Execution System) server and POP(Point of Production) terminal through electronic document server and electronic pen, bluetooth receiver and form paper in disassembly and process inspection works. The proposed model shows that the new method by electronic document automation system can more efficiently perform to reduce processing time for maintenance work, compared with the current approach by handwritten processing system. It is noted in case of the method by electronic document automation system that the effects of proposed model are as follows; (a) While the processing time per equipment for maintenance by the current method was 300 minutes, the processing time by the new method was 50 minutes. (b) While the processing error ratio by the current method was 20%, the error ratio by the new method was 1%.

  • 본 연구는 4차 산업혁명과 기술 진보로 대량 실업과 고용불안에 대한 논의가 전개되고 있다. 특히 건설 자동화 서비스 방식은 빠른 발전과 기술간 융합에 따라 작업의 생산성을 높이고 현장 안전사고 방지, 건설 산업의 경쟁력을 높이는 데 기여할 수 있다. 하지만 노동자들의 자리는 감소할 것이며 소득분배도 악화시킬 것이라는 우려가 크다. 이에 본 연구는 노동 시장의 불안감을 완화시키고 정부 및 사회 각계각층이 고민하여 방향성을 모색할 필요성이 있다. 본 연구를 수행하기 위해 현재 건설 분야에 종사 중인 2명의 전문가와 심층 인터뷰를 진행하였으며 분석을 통해 의미 도출과 현 경향을 파악하고 필요한 개선방안과 제도적 영역에 관해 규명하고 연구 방향을 제시하고자 한다. 분석결과 목적, 시사점, 전략적 총 3개의 주제로 분석하고 이를 토대로 산업현장의 대응, 노동자 대응, 교육훈련 대응, 정부와 기업의 대응으로 총 4개의 분야별로 대응 전략을 제언할 수가 있다. 산업 현장의 대응은 수평적이고 유연화된 조직 문화로 전환 되어야 하고 기존 노동자의 교육과 신규 인재양성이 필요하다. 노동자 대응은 융합능력과 깊은 전문성을 길러야 하며 교육훈련 대응은 직업교육과 훈련에 초점을 맞춘 재교육 시스템 도입을 갖추어야 한다. 마지막으로 정부와 기업의 대응은 건설 기술 서비스 창업 및 창직 활성화를 지원해야 한다. 본 연구를 통해서 건설 자동화 서비스의 기술혁신에 따른 사회 전반의 생산성 향상과 효율성이 노동 시장에서 실업률 상승과 일자리 감소 등과 같은 사회적 문제로 이어지지 않도록 향후 경제 및 사회학적으로 논의를 활성화할 필요성이 있다.

Automation of Roadway Lighting Illuminance Measurement

  • Roadway lighting is an integral element of a highway system. Luminaires on roadways provide viewing conditions for drivers and pedestrians during nighttime in order to improve safety. It is time-consuming and labor-intensive to manually measure roadway illuminance at predetermined spots with a handheld illuminance meter. To improve the efficiency of illuminance measurement, a remote-control electrical cart and a drone were utilized to carry an illuminance meter for the measurements. The measurements were performed on the marked grid points along the pavement. To measure the illuminance manually, one person measures illuminance at each grid point with the handheld meter and another person records the illuminance value. To measure the illuminance with the remote-control cart, the illuminance meter is attached to the cart and it measures illuminance values continuously as the cart moves along the grid lines. With the drone, the meter records the illuminance continuously as the drone carries the meter and flies along the grid line. Because the drone can fly at different heights, the measurements can be done at different altitudes. The illuminance measurements using the cart and the drone are described in detail and compared with manual measurements in this paper. It is shown through this study that automated measurements can greatly improve the efficiency of roadway illuminance data measurements.

  • AGV is very proper equipment for Port Automation. AGV must have Obstacle Detection System(ODS) for port automation. Obstacle Detection System must have some functions. It must be able to classify some specified object from background data. And it must be able to track classified objects. Finally, ODS must determine its next action for safe cruise whether it must do emergency stop or it must speed down or it must change its track. For these functions, ODS can have many different structures. In this paper, we will propose one structure among some possible ones. Our ODS has been being developed using proposed structure since last year. In this paper, we will introduce our system which is under construction.

Identification of target subjects and their constraints for automated MEP routing in an AEC project

  • Since Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing(MEP) routing is a repetitive and experience-centered process that requires considerable time and human resources, if automated, design errors can be prevented and the previously required time and human resources can be reduced. Although research on automatic routing has been conducted in many industries, the MEP routing in AEC projects has yet to be identified due to the complexity of system configuration, distributed expertise, and various constraints. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to identify the target subjects for MEP routing automation and the constraints of each subject. The MEP design checklist provided by a CM company and existing literature review were conducted, and target subjects and constraints were identified through process observation and in-depth expert interviews for five days by visiting a MEP design company. The target subjects were largely divided into six categories: air conditioning plumbing, air conditioning duct, restroom sanitary plumbing, heating plumbing, and diagram. The findings from interviews show that work reduction and error reduction has the greatest effect on air conditioning plumbing while the level of difficulty is the highest in air conditioning duct and restroom sanitary plumbing. Major constraints for each subject include preventing cold drafts on air conditioning pipes, deviation in ventilation volume in air conditioning ducts, routing order on restroom sanitary plumbing, and separation distance from the wall on heating plumbing. In this way, subjects and constraints identified in this study can be used for MEP automatic routing.
