  • In previous research, we suggested a business process structured query language(BPSQL) for information extraction and retrieval in the business process framework, and used an existing query language with the tablization for each layer within the framework, but still had a problem to manually build with the specification of each layer information of BFP. To solve this problem, we suggest automatically to build the schema based business process model with model-to-text conversion technique. This procedure consists of 1) defining each meta-model of the entire structure and of database schema, and 2) also defining model transformation rules for it. With this procedure, we can automatically transform from defining through meta-modeling of an integrated information system designed to the schema based model information table specification defined of the entire layer each layer specification with model-to-text conversion techniques. It is possible to develop the efficiently integrated information system.

  • Building Information Modeling (BIM) is increasingly used throughout the facility's life cycle for various applications, such as design, construction, facility management, and maintenance. For existing buildings, the geometry of as-built BIM is often constructed using dense, three dimensional (3D) point clouds data obtained with laser scanners. Traditionally, as-built BIM systems do not contain the material and textural information of the buildings' elements. This paper presents a semi-automatic method for generation of material and texture rich as-built BIM. The method captures and integrates material and textural information of building elements into as-built BIM using thermal infrared sensing (TIS). The proposed method uses TIS to capture thermal images of the interior walls of an existing building. These images are then processed to extract the interior walls using a segmentation algorithm. The digital numbers in the resulted images are then transformed into radiance values that represent the emitted thermal infrared radiation. Machine learning techniques are then applied to build a correlation between the radiance values and the material type in each image. The radiance values were used to extract textural information from the images. The extracted textural and material information are then robustly integrated into the as-built BIM providing the data needed for the assessment of building conditions in general including energy efficiency, among others.

  • Fingerprint image enhancement and minutiae matching are two key steps in an automatic fingerprint identification system. In this paper, we propose a fingerprint recognition technique by using minutiae linking information. Recognition process have three steps ; preprocessing, minutiae extraction, matching step based on minutiae pairing. After extracting minutiae of a fingerprint from its thinned image for accuracy, we introduce matching process using minutiae linking information. Introduction of linking information into the minutiae matching process is a simple but accurate way, which solves the problem of reference minutiae pair selection with low cost in comparison stage of two fingerprints. This algorithm is invariable to translation and rotation of fingerprint. The matching algorithm was tested on 500 images from the semiconductor chip style scanner, experimental result revealed the false acceptance rate is decreased and genuine acceptance rate is increased than existing method.

  • There has been increasing interest in automatic term recognition (ATR), which recognizes technical terms for given domain specific texts. ATR is composed of 'term extraction', which extracts candidates of technical terms and 'term selection' which decides whether terms in a term list derived from 'term extraction' are technical terms or not. 'term selection' is a process to rank a term list depending on features of technical term and to find the boundary between technical term and general term. The previous works just use statistical features of terms for 'term selection'. However, there are limitations on effectively selecting technical terms among a term list using the statistical feature. The objective of this paper is to find effective features for 'term selection' by considering various aspects of technical terms. In order to solve the ranking problem, we derive various features of technical terms and combine the features using machine-learning algorithms. For solving the boundary finding problem, we define it as a binary classification problem which classifies a term in a term list into technical term and general term. Experiments show that our method records 78-86% precision and 87%-90% recall in boundary finding, and 89%-92% 11-point precision in ranking. Moreover, our method shows higher performance than the previous work's about 26% in maximum.

  • The goal of this paper is to extract the hyponymy relation between words in the corpus. Adopting the basic algorithm of Hearst (1992), I propose a method of pattern-based extraction of semantic relations from the corpus. To this end, I set up a list of hypernym-hyponym pairs from Sejong Electronic Dictionary. This list is supplemented with the superordinate-subordinate terms of CoroNet. Then, I extracted all the sentences from the corpus that include hypemym-hyponym pairs of the list. From these extracted sentences, I collected all the sentences that contain meaningful constructions that occur systematically in the corpus. As a result, we could obtain 21 generalized patterns. Using the PERL program, we collected sentences of each of the 21 patterns. 57% of the sentences are turned out to have hyponymy relation. The proposed method in this paper is simpler and more advanced than that in Cederberg and Widdows (2003), in that using a word net or an electronic dictionary is generally considered to be efficient for information retrieval. The patterns extracted by this method are helpful when we look fer appropriate documents during information retrieval, and they are used to expand the concept networks like ontologies or thesauruses. However, the word order of Korean is relatively free and it is difficult to capture various expressions of a fired pattern. In the future, we should investigate more semantic relations than hyponymy, so that we can extract various patterns from the corpus.

  • This paper presents a novel training data extraction approach using semi-supervised learning (SSL)-based classification without the analyst intervention for time-series land-cover mapping. The SSL-based approach first performs initial classification using initial training data obtained from past images including land-cover characteristics similar to the image to be classified. Reliable training data from the initial classification result are then extracted from SSL-based iterative classification using classification uncertainty information and class labels of neighboring pixels as constraints. The potential of the SSL-based training data extraction approach was evaluated from a classification experiment using unmanned aerial vehicle images in croplands. The use of new training data automatically extracted by the proposed SSL approach could significantly alleviate the misclassification in the initial classification result. In particular, isolated pixels were substantially reduced by considering spatial contextual information from adjacent pixels. Consequently, the classification accuracy of the proposed approach was similar to that of classification using manually extracted training data. These results indicate that the SSL-based iterative classification presented in this study could be effectively applied to automatically extract reliable training data for time-series land-cover mapping.

  • Many studies have been carried out for automatic extraction of building by LiDAR data or airphoto. Combining the benefits of 3D location information data and shape information data of image can improve the accuracy. So, in this research building recognition algorithm based on contour was used to improve accuracy of building recognition by LiDAR data and elaborate building boundary recognition by airphoto. Building recognition algorithm based on contour can generate building boundary and roof structure information. Also it shows better accuracy of building detection than the existing recognition methods based on TIN or NDSM. Out of creating buffers in regular size on the building boundary which is presumed by contour, this research limits the boundary area of airphoto and elaborate building boundary to fit into edge of airphoto by double active contour. From the result of this research, 3D building boundary will be able to be detected by optimal matching on the constant range of extracted boundary in the future.

  • The main focus of this paper is to analyze trend of event informations in a variety of mass media by graphical visualization in axis of the time and location. Especially, continuity analysis based on user-generated social media can reflect the social impact of a certain event according to change time and location and their directional changes. To reveal the characteristics of continuous events, we survey the data set collected from news articles and tweets during two years. Based on case studies on 'disease' and 'leisure', we verify the effectiveness and usefulness of our proposed method. Even though some events occurred during same period, we showed directional changes which have high-impact in social media referred user interest's, compared with fact-based continuous visualization results.

  • Computed tomography (CT) images are widely used for the analysis of the temporal evaluation or monitoring of the progression of a disease. The follow-up examinations of CT scan images of the same patient require a 3D registration technique. In this paper, an automatic and robust registration is proposed for the rigid registration of 3D CT images. The proposed method involves two steps. Firstly, the two CT volumes are aligned based on their principal axes, and then, the alignment from the previous step is refined by the optimization of the similarity score of the image's voxel. Normalized cross correlation (NCC) is used as a similarity metric and a downhill simplex method is employed to find out the optimal score. The performance of the algorithm is evaluated on phantom images and knee synthetic CT images. By the extraction of the initial transformation parameters with principal axis of the binary volumes, the searching space to find out the parameters is reduced in the optimization step. Thus, the overall registration time is algorithmically decreased without the deterioration of the accuracy. The preliminary experimental results of the study demonstrate that the proposed method can be applied to rigid registration problems of real patient images.

  • Because the slope made up the construction of any other facilities, has many risks of a collapse, existing inspection methods to collect information for a construction site of slope bring up a long time of inspection period, cost and approach for a measuring instrument and it presents the critical point of collecting materials. For getting images to use zoom lens in any positions this study will use free zoomer constructed values of data classified by the focal length develop Image Loader system to make it load not only camera information but also camera test data values of the focal length took a photograph automatically if it measure to use a variety of cameras or other lens. Also, as it constructs three dimensions spatial image information from images of obtained objects this study presents effective basic materials of slope surveying and inspection and it shows exact surveying methods for dangerous slope not to access.
