  • In this paper, automatic sunvisor system is introduced for driver's safety and convenience. This system has the mechanism which keeps the sun off without obstruction of driver's sight. The mechanism can make the sunvisor move forward or rotate left while remaining inside inner roof. The control system consists of a CPU, a motor driver, light sensors, and the algorithm that can control the movement of sunvisor efficiently. When the light sensors take the sun light, they give the signal to the CPU and the CPU calculates the best position of the sunvisor with the information of driver's eyes height. Then, the CPU gives the signal to motors that can move the sunvisor.

  • A 3-dimenstional automatic solder paste inspection system is described that can be used to find defects occurring in solder paste printing process. This system extracts height and volume information very fast as well as area of solder paste printed, using multiple slit ray projection and Galvano-mirror scanning. Methods are presented on calibration of camera and slit projector, real-time image processing of multiple slit images, determination of reference height, and extraction of paste height information are proposed. Performance of the system was successfully demonstrated through field tests.

  • The vehicle-mounted mine detection system with large detection sensor modules can search wide areas with a fast detection speed. To mount the heavy mine detectors on a manned or unmanned vehicle, it is necessary to design the detector driving mechanism and control system based on the considerations driven from the characteristic analysis and the operation requirements of the detection system. Furthermore, while operating the mine detector mounted on a mobile vehicle, it is significant to keep the height from the ground to sensors within a certain distance in order to get a qualified detection performance. As the mine detection sensor, we used ground penetrating radar widely used to geotechnical exploration, mine detection and etc. In this paper, we introduce a driving mechanism through analyzing the characteristics of the vehicle-mounted mine detection system. We also suggest a method to automatically control the distance between the ground and GPR by utilizing the GPR output values, used to detect mines at the same time.

  • 본 연구는 유압식 자동차고 조절장치 개발 및 상기장치를 일반 상용차에 적용시키기 위한 것이다. 운전자의 승차감에 영향을 줄 진동특성을 주행시험을 통하여 파악하고자 하였다. 유압식 자동차고 조절장치는 현재 승용차에 가장 많이 사용되고 있는 맥퍼슨 형식의 형태로 설계되었다. 맥퍼슨 형식의 순정현가장치, 튜닝현가장치, 유압식 자동차고 조절장치를 장착한 차량으로 시험을 수행하였다. 자동차에 전달되는 진동특성은 랜덤형태이므로 PSD(Power Spectrum Density)값을 비교하였다.

A Study of Seam Tracking and Error Compensation for Plasma Arc Welding of Corrugation Panel

  • This paper describes weld seam tracking and error compensation methods of automatic plasma arc welding system designed for the corrugation panel that consists of a linear section and a curved section with various curvatures. Realizing automatic welding system, we are faced with two problems. One is a precise seam tracking and the other is an arc length control. Due to the complexity of the panel shape, it is difficult to find a seam and operate a torch manually in the welding process. So, laser vision sensor for seam tracking is equipped for sensing the seam position and controlling the height of a torch automatically. To attain more precise measurement of an arc length, we measure the 3D shape of the panel and analyze error factors according to the various panel states and caused errors are predicted through the welding process. Using that result, compensation algorithm is added to that of arc length control and real time error compensation is achieved. The result shows that these two methods work effectively.

  • Arc sensor gives important groove information during welding. Automatic seam tracking control system with arc sensor has significant characteristics such that bead formation is given as decentralization of penetration and formation of concave bead profile and that a turning point of transverse weaving with constant arc length control is decided whether or not torch height reaches to a specified setting level. Furthermore, the rotating action of the arc prevents hanging of weld bead and forms flat bead surface under high speed welding condition. The variation of groove and deposition area can be detected from the trace of weaving. The area and width of weaving trace has close correlation with the area of groove and deposition. 유리온실과 플라스틱 온실의 환경조절시스템 비교분석 (Comparative analysis on environment control systems for glasshouses and plastic houses)

  • In order to set up the basic environmental control systems which the new concept greenhouses have to equip, greenhouse characteristics, environmental management and control systems in domestic glasshouses and plastic houses were investigated and analyzed comparatively. Survey results on the width, length, eaves height, and the number of spans etc. showed that glasshouses were bigger than plastic houses significantly. New concept greenhouses claim to be plastic houses, but it will be reasonable to follow the specifications of the glasshouse. Specifications to be applied to new concept greenhouses were proposed as follows; hot water heating systems, aluminum screens as the thermal curtain, evaporative cooling systems, roof vents on the ridge, circulation fans, $CO_2$ enrichment, hydroponic systems, and automatic irrigation control systems. Environmental measurement systems for the indoor and outdoor temperature, humidity, light, wind speed and indoor $CO_2$ concentration have to be fully equipped. The automatic control system has to be as a complex environmental control system, not a single item control system. Also, for stable dissemination, domestically producing complete greenhouse control system should be made as soon as possible.

용접선 자동추적용 전자기유도센서의 개발에 관한 연구 (A Study on Development of an Electromagnetic Inductive Sensor for Automatic Weld Seam Tracking)

  • An electromagnetic inductive sensor consisted of one exciter and three separated (triple) detectors has been developed for both tracking the weld seam of a workpiece and controlling the sensor-to-workpiece distance (height) simultaneously. The left and right detectors are used to track the seam, while the fore and the other two detectors allow the sensor to determine the height and the gap width by being coupled their outputs together. A series of experiments with the proposed sensor located above a mild steel plate containing a weld seam of gap are carried out to examine the feasibility of the sensor. The results revealed that the proposed sensor could fairly well track the desired seam and also well control the height to be constant even when the gap width of the seam varied. The gap width can be also determined during the seam tracking by using the sensor outputs. As a consequence, these can provide the developed sensor with substantial improvement for industrial uses with respect to the previous electromagnetic sensors being used for the weld seam tracking.

왕겨 연소기(燃燒機)를 이용(利用)한 온수(溫水)보일러 시스템 개발(開發) (I) -실험적(實驗的) 연구(硏究)- (Development of a Hot Water Boiler System with a Rice Hull Furnace)

  • This study was performed to develop a hot water boiler system with small scale automatic rice hull furnace for the multi-purpose use in the farm. For the experiment a prototype hot water boiler system with rice hull furnace was fabricated, which was equipped with automatic hull feeder, igniter and ash removal device. Optimum operational conditions of the prototype: system were analyzed. The results arc summarized as follows. 1. The temperature measured right above the burning surface should be higher than $500^{\circ}C$ combustion. 2. The top zone of the combustion chamber was the most suitable location of the thermocouple to pick up the control temperature for the automatic operation of the rice hull furnace. 3. The content of carbon monoxide in the flue gas was increased with the filling height of burning material but it was less than 0.3 percent in volume in this experiment. When the filling height was expressed as the ratio of rice hull feed rate to the volume of the combustion chamber above the burning surface, the optimum ratio was about $150kg/m^3-h$. 4. The combustion efficiency of the prototype was higher than 95 percent when the feed rate was 1.1 to 2.3 kg/h and moisture content of rice hull was 22.4 percent (w.b.) or less. 5. It was estimated that the optimum operational conditions of the system were 1.3 to 2.0 kg/h in feed rate, 70 to 100 percent in excess air and 500 to $510^{\circ}C$ in control temperature. 6. The efficiency of coil heal exchanger increased with a decrease in feed rate of rice hull. When the rice hull feed rates were 1.1, 1.7 and 2.3 kg/h, the efficiencies of coil heat exchanger were about 34, 30 and 25 percent and heat transfer rates were 5.7, 7.6 and 8.8 MJ/h, respectively. When the flat plate heat exchanger was used in addition to the coil heat exchanger, the efficiency of the heat exchanger system increased to 48 percent.

시설원예의 생력화를 위한 다목적 자동작업장치 개발 (An Automatic Operating System for Manless Multipurpose in Greenhouse)

  • 시설원예 작업의 생력화을 위해 화훼온실, 육묘장, 잔디온실 및 분화재배온실에서 사용할 수 있는 다목적 자동작업장치를 개발하였다. 본 시스템의 구성은 주행부, 높이조절부, 살수부, 송풍부 및 흡입부로 되어 있다. 다목적 자동작업장치를 이용하여 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. 다이얼 변화에 따른 속도는 0.047~0.027 m/s로 나타났고, 에어커튼의 풍속은 고속, 중속, 저속에서 3.9 m/s, 3.6m/s, 3.4m/s로 나타났으나, 중앙 50cm의 위치에서는 0.2 m/s정도로 차이가 없었다. 관수압력이 높을수록 관수량이 많아졌으나 10kg/$\textrm{cm}^2$와 15kg/$\textrm{cm}^2$에서의 차이는 약 60ml, 15kg/$\textrm{cm}^2$와 20g/$\textrm{cm}^2$의 사이에는 약 20m1의 차이를 보였다. 흡입은 해충과 유사한 3~4 mm정도의 스티로폼 가루 및 풀 씨앗을 이용하여 측정한 결과 평균 유속은 3.64 m/s이고, 흡입유량은 0.044 ㎥/s이었다.
