  • Crawler-type hydraulic devices facilitate forward and backward driving of construction equipment by converting power into mechanical energy. The existing hydraulic device performance test process is time- and labor-intensive. This study aims to improve efficiency and productivity by automating the hydraulic device production performance test processes, which have been separately conducted so far. We also used SolidWorksⓇ, a 3D modeling program, and ANSYSⓇ, a structural analysis tool, for structural analysis and to verify the suitability of fixing pins required for connecting a hydraulic device to performance test equipment. Our results that employing an automated hydraulic device performance test process improves efficiency.

  • Component adaptation is widely recognized as one of the main problems of the components, used in component based software engineering (CBSE). We developed methods to adjust the components classified by the keywords. Three main methods are discussed in this article those methods are combined with several domain component interfaces, high level simple notation for the adapter design patterns. The automated process for classifying high-level components are using adaptation is novel to software engineering domain. All Specifications and many technologies for re-using software, CBD and further developments have been emerged in recent years. The effects of these technologies on program quality or software costs must be analyzed. The risk concerns a single technology and must identify its combinations. In this paper, we are going to discuss the methods to adapt components of different technologies

  • This paper describes the CIREX(CIRcuit EXtractor), an automated CMOS circuit extraction program which provides SPICE2 input file by computing circuit connectivity and transistor dimensions from the CIF file. The CIREX also computes parasitic capacitance and resistance which makes it a valuable tool for timing analysis and detailed circuit simulation. A lattice model is used to calculate the interconnection resistances and substrate capacitances which can be replaced, as an option, by a node model for the worst case timing analysis of the circuit.

  • It is necessary that the industry has to develop various automated control technology for efficient creation of manufacture automation system according to rapid market situation. One of the technologies is the fused complex control based on PLC-based controlled system. According to rapid growth and distribution of various automated control technologies using PLC, the engineers in automation, Production and manufacturing technologies fields have difficulties in systematic studying on the technologies by choosing an optimal route due to various industry-applied examples and ranges, in spite that the technology is essential. Therefore, the researchers indicate applied outputs and effects extracted by systematically developing systematic company-specified training program by analyzing education procedure drawbacks for S-company engineers.

  • One of the main challenges of the automatic arc welding process which has been widely used in various constructions such as steel structures, bridges, autos, motorcycles, construction machinery, ships, offshore structures, pressure vessels, and pipelines is to create specific welding knowledge and techniques with high quality and productivity of the production-based industry. Commercially available automated arc welding systems use simple control techniques that focus on linear system models with a small subset of the larger set of welding parameters, thereby limiting the number of applications that can be automated. However, the correlations of welding parameters and bead geometry as welding quality have mostly been linked by a trial and error method to adjust the welding parameters. In addition, the systematic correlation between these parameters have not been identified yet. To solve such problems, a new or modified models to determine the welding parameters for tandem GMA (Gas Metal Arc) welding process is required. In this study, A new predictive model called STACO model, has been proposed. Based on the experimental results, STACO model was developed with the help of a standard statistical package program, MINITAB software and MATLAB software. Cross-comparative analysis has been applied to verify the reliability of the developed model.

  • Radio frequency management system(RFMS) is being operated to facilitate national spectrum management and monitoring in Korea. To improve the engineering analysis function in RFMS, criteria for the automated selection of the propagation model adequate to the radio station service environment considered are proposed. Those criteria are derived from the specified parameters obtained through the analysis of related ITU-R propagation & diffraction loss models which are to be used in RFMS. Then, using criteria acquired, computer program is made to achieve the automated selection of the most appropriate propagation algorithm, among the ones provided in RFMS, to the environment in which the engineering analysis is required. Furthermore, an illustrative example is shown with the proposals fur increasing the efficiency of the engineering analysis in RFMS.

  • The demand for the development of automated construction equipments is gradually increasing to deal with the current problems of construction technology, such as a lack of experienced workers, the aging of engineers, safety issues, etc. In particular, earth work such as excavation is very machine-dependent, and there has been a great deal of research on the development of an intelligent excavator, which involves great safety concerns. Thus, the objective of this study is to develop the technology to enhance the safety of intelligent excavation systems by developing an omnidirectional object detection technology for the intelligent excavator and applying it to a user-friendly system. The existing literature was reviewed, and the function of various sensor technologies was investigated and analyzed. Then, the best laser sensor was selected for an experiment to determine its effectiveness. An omnidirectional object detection algorithm was developed for a user interface program, and this can be used as the fundamental technology for the development of a safety management system for an intelligent excavator.

  • The purpose of this study was to develop position control system of an electric actuator for automatic shuttle shifting of a tractor. The electric actuator was installed at the link of the forward-reverse gearshift of the tractor transmission, and controlled in the ranges of forward, neutral, and reverse positions. The position control system of the electric actuator was developed based on PID (Proportional Integral Derivative) controller and transfer function of the electric actuator. The coefficients of the PID controller were determined by Ziegler-Nichols (Z-N) method and optimized using simulation program. The prototype AMT (Automated Manual Transmission) test unit of the tractor was installed and used to evaluate the performance of the position control. The evaluation system for the control performance consisted of forward-reverse actuator, motor driver, and controller. The tests were conducted as the controlled positions of the actuator were changed from neutral position to forward, neutral, and reverse positions in sequence. The sequential tests were repeated 20 times. The operations of changing the gearshift were considered as the step response of the control system. Maximum overshoot, settling time, and steady-state error were analyzed. The results showed that performance of the position control system was reasonable and qualified. The maximum overshoots, the steady-state errors, and the settling times of the position control system were 10~20%, 1~5%, and 0.92~1.49 sec, respectively. The modifications of the electric actuator will be required to enhance the performance of position control during field operation.
