자율주행 안전성 평가 시나리오 개발 및 검증 (Development and Validation of Safety Performance Evaluation Scenarios of Autonomous Vehicle)

  • Regulation for the testing and operation of automated vehicles on public roadways has been recently developed all over the world. For example, the licensing standards and the evaluation technology for automated vehicles have been proposed in California, Nevada and EU. But specific safety evaluation scenarios for automated vehicles have not been proposed yet. This paper presents safety evaluation scenarios for extraordinary service permission of automated vehicles on highways. A total of seven scenarios are selected in consideration of safety priority and real traffic situation. Six scenarios are relevant with lane keeping and one scenario is relevant with lane change. All scenarios are developed based on existing ADAS evaluation scenarios and repeated simulation of automated vehicle algorithm. Safety evaluation factors as well as scenarios are developed. The safety factors are based on existing ADAS ISO requirements, ADAS safety factors and current traffic regulations. For the scenarios, a hunter vehicle is needed in addition to automated vehicle evaluated. The hunter vehicle performs multiple roles like preceding vehicle, cut-in vehicle and so on. The hunter vehicle is also automated vehicle equipped with high performance GPS, radar and Lidar. All the scenarios can be implemented by driving a lap on a KATRI ITS test track. These scenarios and safety evaluation factors are investigated via both a computer simulation and an experimental vehicle test on the test track. The experimental vehicle test was conducted with two automated vehicles, which are the evaluated vehicle and the hunter vehicle.

  • 최근 국내 외 물류환경이 급변하고 있어 국내기업들은 물론이거니와 해외기업들까지 자동화창고 개발 및 투자를 확대하고 있다. 이러한 환경속에서 자동화창고 시스템은 급변하고 있으며, 그에 따라 다양한 기능을 갖춘 자동화창고 시스템이 개발되고 있다. 이렇게 자동화창고 시스템의 새로운 기술들이 많이 개발되어 양적인 면은 커져가고 있지만, 자동화창고 시스템의 제품 품질평가체계인 질적인 면은 제자리걸음이다. 본 논문에서는 자동화창고의 제품평가체제 확립을 위해다양하게 발전하고 있는 자동화창고 시스템의 특성과 기술의 동향을 분석하고, 이를 기반으로 자동화창고 시스템의 기능성과 신뢰성을 확보하기 위해 제품평가에 관한 국제품질평가 표준인 ISO/IEC 25000 시리즈를 참조하여 기능적합성과 신뢰성의 평가항목을 도출하였으며, 도출한 평가항목을 통해 평가모델을 개발하였다. 본 논문을 통해 자동화창고 시스템의 품질수준을 높이기 위한 기능적합성과 신뢰성의 평가기준을 확립할 것으로 사료된다.

Depth Evaluation from Pattern Projection Optimized for Automated Electronics Assembling Robots

  • This paper presents the depth evaluation for object detection by automated assembling robots. Pattern distortion analysis from a structured light system identifies an object with the greatest depth from its background. An automated assembling robot should prior select and pick an object with the greatest depth to reduce the physical harm during the picking action of the robot arm. Object detection is then combined with a depth evaluation to provide contour, showing the edges of an object with the greatest depth. The contour provides shape information to an automated assembling robot, which equips the laser based proxy sensor, for picking up and placing an object in the intended place. The depth evaluation process using structured light for an automated electronics assembling robot is accelerated for an image frame to be used for computation using the simplest experimental set, which consists of a single camera and projector. The experiments for the depth evaluation process required 31 ms to 32 ms, which were optimized for the robot vision system that equips a 30-frames-per-second camera.

  • 자율협력주행 도로시스템은 자율주행차와 V2X 통신으로 연결되어 상호정보를 주고받으며 자율주행차의 안전주행을 지원하는 도로인프라 시스템을 말합니다. 본 연구는 자율협력주행 도로시스템 서비스의 성능평가 방안 제시를 목적으로 하며, 도로인프라에서 자율주행차에 정보를 제공하는 I2V 서비스 중 '작업구간 정보제공 서비스'를 예를 들어, 먼저 서비스에 대한 Use Case 분석과 서비스 성능을 확인하기 위해 필요한 요구사항 및 서비스 범위를 정의하고, 이러한 서비스의 성능평가 수행을 위한 평가시스템을 제안하였다. 또한, 본 연구에서 제안한 평가시스템을 활용하여 '작업구간 정보제공 서비스'의 현장시험을 통해 평가 가능여부를 검증하였다.

영작문 자동 채점 시스템 개발 연구 (Development of automated scoring system for English writing)

  • The purpose of the present study is to develop a prototype automated scoring system for English writing. The system was developed for scoring writings of Korean middle school students. In order to develop the automated scoring system, following procedures have been applied. First, review and analysis of established automated essay scoring systems in other countries have been accomplished. By doing so, we could get the guidance for development of a new sentence-level automated scoring system for Korean EFL students. Second, knowledge base such as lexicon, grammar and WordNet for natural language processing and error corpus of English writing of Korean middle school students were established. Error corpus was established through the paper and pencil test with 589 third year middle school students. This study provided suggestions for the successful introduction of an automated scoring system in Korea. The automated scoring system developed in this study should be continuously upgraded to improve the accuracy of the scoring system. Also, it is suggested to develop an automated scoring system being able to carry out evaluation of English essay, not only sentence-level evaluation. The system needs to be upgraded for the improved precision, but, it was a successful introduction of an sentence-level automated scoring system for English writing in Korea.

Automated Audiometry: A Review of the Implementation and Evaluation Methods

  • Objectives: Automated audiometry provides an opportunity to do audiometry when there is no direct access to a clinical audiologist. This approach will help to use hearing services and resources efficiently. The purpose of this study was to review studies related to automated audiometry by focusing on the implementation of an audiometer, the use of transducers and evaluation methods. Methods: This review study was conducted in 2017. The papers related to the design and implementation of automated audiometry were searched in the following databases: Science Direct, Web of Science, PubMed, and Scopus. The time frame for the papers was between January 1, 2010 and August 31, 2017. Initially, 143 papers were found, and after screening, the number of papers was reduced to 16. Results: The findings showed that the implementation methods were categorized into the use of software (7 papers), hardware (3 papers) and smartphones/tablets (6 papers). The used transducers were a variety of earphones and bone vibrators. Different evaluation methods were used to evaluate the accuracy and the reliability of the diagnoses. However, in most studies, no significant difference was found between automated and traditional audiometry. Conclusions: It seems that automated audiometry produces the same results compared with traditional audiometry. However, the main advantages of this method; namely, saving costs and increased accessibility to hearing services, can lead to a faster diagnosis of hearing impairment, especially in poor areas.

자율주행자동차 안전성 검증을 위한 ODD 기반 평가요소 제시 : K-City를 중심으로 (Suggestion of Evaluation Elements Based on ODD for Automated Vehicles Safety Verification : Case of K-City)

  • 자율주행자동차(Automated vehicle, AV) 교통사고가 지속적으로 발생하면서 자율주행시스템(automated driving system, ADS)의 안전성 및 신뢰성을 확보하기 위한 안전성 검증의 중요성이 강조되고 있다. 안전성 및 신뢰성을 확보하기 위해서는 ADS의 운행가능영역(operational design domain, ODD)을 정의하고 ODD를 벗어나는 상황에서의 대응 능력을 평가하면서 ADS의 안전성을 검증해야 할 필요가 있다. 이를 위해 SAE, BSI, NHTSA, ISO 등의 국제 기구에서는 ODD 분류 기준 및 표준을 규정하고 있으나 국내의 경우 ODD 기준이 부재하여 AV의 ODD 표현 방법 및 안전성 검증 및 평가가 적절히 이루어지지 않고 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 해외 ODD 분류 기준을 분석하고 안전성 검증 및 평가에 적합한 분류 기준을 선정하였다. 선정된 ODD를 기반으로 ADS 안전성 검증 및 평가에 필요한 평가요소를 제시하였다. 특히, ADS 기술 개발을 지원하는 자율주행 실험도시(K-City)의 평가환경을 분석하여 평가요소를 제시하였다.

가속도 기반 자율주행 패턴에 대한 이용자 만족도 평가 연구 (A Study on User Satisfaction Evaluation of Acceleration-Based Automated Driving Patterns)

  • 자율주행 기술이 빠르게 발전함에 따라 자율주행 기술을 직·간접적으로 체험할 수 있는 기회가 대중에게 제공되고 있지만, 이용자 관점에서 편안한 승차감을 기대할 수 있는 선호하는 자율주행 패턴에 대해서는 연구가 미비하다. 본 연구에서는 주행 시뮬레이터와 자율주행이 가능한 실험차를 활용하여 종·횡방향 가속도에 대한 이용자 측면 만족도 평가를 수행하였다. 주행 실험을 통하여 도출한 5가지 종·횡방향 가속도 값을 활용하여 자율주행 패턴을 가상환경 시뮬레이션으로 구현하였으며, 그 중 3가지 값에 대해서는 실차 기반 자율주행으로 구현하여 만족도 및 불안감 수준 평가실험을 추가 진행하였다. 연구 결과, 실험 참가자들은 종방향 가속도에 비하여 횡방향 가속도에 더 민감한 평가를 하였으며, 불안감 수준도 높게 나타나는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 이용자 측면 자율주행 패턴 평가연구 필요성과, 시뮬레이터 기반 평가방법의 적정성을 제시하였다.

FlappyBird Competition System: 인공지능 수업의 경쟁 기반 평가 시스템의 구현 (FlappyBird Competition System: A Competition-Based Assessment System for AI Course)

  • In this paper, we present the FlappyBird Competition System (FCS) implementation, a competition-based automated assessment system used in an entry-level artificial intelligence (AI) course at a university. The proposed system provides an evaluation method suitable for AI courses while taking advantage of automated assessment methods. Students are to design a neural network structure, train the weights, and tune hyperparameters using the given reinforcement learning code to improve the overall performance of game AI. Students participate using the resulting trained model during the competition, and the system automatically calculates the final score based on the ranking. The user evaluation conducted after the semester ends shows that our competition-based automated assessment system promotes active participation and inspires students to be interested and motivated to learn AI. Using FCS, the instructor significantly reduces the amount of time required for assessment.

  • This study described the specification and configuration of developed fixed-base AHS (Automated Highway System) simulator fur the human factors researches, and its usability evaluation results after riding 120, 140, and 160kph automated driving speed. As the results, this study suggested the subjects' preferences and opinions about simulator and AHS configurations that would help to establish the AHS R&D plan and driver-vehicle/road interface design guidelines as the basic researches of the AHS human factors.
