  • In order to block the access of the information in the smartphone of a user by other users, it is checked if the current user is the owner or not in the smartphone authentication process, whenever a user begins to use a smartphone. This makes smartphone users in front of frequent smartphone authentications, which leads significant inconvenience to them. Because of such inconvenience, users tend not to use the smartphone authentication anymore. Finally, their smartphones become very vulnerable against malicious access. This paper proposes a progressive authentication method on the android-platform in order to solve the problem described above. With the proposed method, smartphones can identify relevant risks based on users' past experiences and determine whether an authentication is needed. Because authentication occurs only when the identified risk level is high, it can achieve both a high-level of security in the high-level risk situation and user convenience in the low-level risk situation.

  • In today's world, communication, the sharing of information, and money transactions are all possible to conduct via the Internet, but it is important that it these things are done by the actual person. It is possible via several means that an intruder can access user information. As such, several precautionary measures have to be taken to avoid such instances. The purpose of this paper is to introduce the idea of a one-time password (OTP), which makes unauthorized access difficult for unauthorized users. A OTP can be implemented using smart cards, time-based tokens, and short message service, but hardware based methodologies require maintenance costs and can be misplaced Therefore, the quick response code technique and personal assurance message has been added along with the OTP authentication.

  • Current IEEE 802.11 standard is very vulnerable that between the AP and STA authentication and security mechanisms is widely known. Therefore, IEEE has proposed security architecture RSN (Robust Security Network) for 802.11. RSN is used the access control, authentication, and key management based on the IEEE 802.1X standard. In this paper, IEEE 802.1X or 802.11 a combination of several models proposed for the vulnerability, and session hijacking or MiM (Man-in the-Middle) attacks to respond, the authentication mechanism Was designed to the access control between the STA and the AP.

  • In next generation wireless network environment, various different wireless access technologies exist and multi-interface systems which can provide various services in one terminal are required. So far there have been many studies only on the power control part of multi-interface systems. Therefore, the study of network connection considering Qos between different networks is necessary in order for various services to be operated in integrate wireless networks. This paper proposes a pre-authentication and network connection mechanism rather than power control part.

  • Presently, the demand for IPTV, to satisfy a variety of goals, is exploding. IPTV is coming into the spotlight as a killer application in upcoming IP convergence networks such as triple play which is the delivery of voice, internet, and video service to a subscriber. IPTV utilizes CAS, which controls the subscriber access to content for a profit. Although the current CAS scheme provides access control via subscriber authentication, there is no authentication scheme for the content transmitted from service providers. Thus, there is a vulnerability of security, through which an adversary can forge content between the service provider and subscribers and distribute malicious content to subscribers. In this paper, based on a hash tree scheme, we proposed efficient and strong source authentication protocols which remove the vulnerability of the current IPTV system. We also evaluate our protocol from a view of IPTV requirements.

  • Recently, there is an increase in demand of real-time multimedia service in the WLAN environment, with a commercialization of IEEE 802.11n standard. However, the 802.1x authentication protocol is too slow to provide seamless real-time multimedia service, which defined in an IEEE 802.11i security standard. In this paper, a Ticket-based authentication mechanism in the CAPWAP(Control And Provisioning Wireless Access Point) architecture is introduced to support for the fast handoff.

  • In this paper, we try to solve the frequency shortage due to the increase of LTE terminals and the traffic jam caused by the inefficient WiFi connection method. The proposed LTE-WIFI Vertical Handover method uses a pre-authentication method of the AP through LTE and a method of controlling the access AP of the terminal using the RADIUS server. Through the simulation, the proposed method shows that the access speed of the AP is improved by about 95% compared to the conventional connection method, and the connection speed is improved by about 18% compared to the conventional method. Providing seamless AP through pre-authentication system and improving wireless network speed through AP access distribution can solve LTE frequency shortage problem and improve wireless network usage satisfaction.

  • Cloud computing is an up-and-coming paradigm shift transforming computing models from a technology to a utility. However, security concerns related to privacy, confidentiality and trust are among the issues that threaten the wide deployment of cloud computing. With the advancement of ubiquitous mobile-based clients, the ubiquity of the model suggests a higher integration in our day to day life and this leads to a rise in security issues. To strengthen the access control of cloud resources, most organizations are acquiring Identity Management Systems (IDM). This paper presents one of the most popular IDM systems, specifically OAuth, working in the scope of Mobile Cloud Computing which has many weaknesses in its protocol flow. OAuth is a Delegated Authorization protocol, and not an Authentication protocol and this is where the problem lies. This could lead to very poor security decisions around authentication when the basic OAuth flow is adhered to. OAuth provides an access token to a client, so that it can access a protected resource, based on the permission of the resource owner. Many researchers have opted to implement OpenlD alongside OAuth so as to solve this problem. But OpenlD similarly has several security flows. This paper presents scenarios of how insecure implementations of OAuth can be abused maliciously. We incorporate an authentication protocol to verify the identities before authorization is carried out.

  • TETRA system provides the radio authentication service which permits only authorized radio to access network. Radio authentication is the process which checks the sameness of authentication-key(K) shared between radio and authentication center by challenge-response protocol. TETRA standard authentication protocol can prevent the clone radio to copy ISSI from accessing network, but can't prevent the clone radio to copy ISSI & authentication-key. This paper analyzes authentication-key generation/delivery/infection model in TETRA authentication system and analyzes the threat of clone radio caused by authentication-key exposure. Finally we propose the new authentication protocol which prevent the clone radio to copy ISSI & authentication-key from accessing network.

  • Financial information systems in financial institutions are characterized in providing financial services concatenated with various types of customer information. The leakage of those information could lead to pecuniary loss and non-pecuniary loss such as psychological pains suffered, etc. in terms of customer damages. Therefore, it is imperative for the operational authentication to be confirmed previously in their access to the financial systems and in work operations. The aim of this study is to analyze the methods of authentication and access controls for appropriate system operators.
