In this paper, we propose a downlink power control scheme to apply in the unequal error protection multi-code CDMA mobile medicine system. The mobile medicine system contains (i) blood pressure and body temperature measurement value, (ii) ECG medical signals measured by the electrocardiogram device, (iii) mobile patient's history, (iv) G.729 audio signal, MPEG-4 CCD sensor video signal, and JPEG2000 medical image. By the help of the multi-code CDMA spread spectrum communication system with downlink power control scheme and unequal error protection strategy, it is possible to transmit mobile medicine media and meet the quality of service. Numerical analysis and simulation results show that the system is a well transmission platform in mobile medicine.

The Ubiquitous/Unified Communication Platform supports various multimedia communication tools such as VoIP, Email, Unified Messaging, Instant Messaging, Web Conferencing, Audio/Video Communication etc. In this paper we introduced the main functions and architecture of the Unified Communication Platform and we researched on the function analysis and design of the VoIP System that supports PC-to-PBX/PSTN Phone and PBX/PSTN Phone-to-PC communications through the connectivity and interoperation with PSTN.

This study examined the speech intelligibility of one-syllable words with phonetic contrasts and analyzed segmental factors that can predict the overall speech intelligibility in hearing-impaired adults. To identify the speech error characteristics, a Korean word list was audio-recorded by 7 hearing-impaired adults, and 35 listeners selected the heard word out of 5 choices. Based in part on previous studies of speech of the hearing impaired, the word list consisted of monosyllabic consonant-vowel-consonant (CVC) real word pairs. Stimulus words included 77 phonetic contrast pairs. The results showed that the percentage of errors in final position (coda) contrast was higher than in any other position in syllable. And the intelligibility deficit factors of phonetic contrast in the hearing-impaired were analyzed through stepwise regression analysis. The overall intelligibility was predicted by the error rate of manner contrast at coda, voicing contrast (homorganic triplets) at onset and high-low contrast at nucleus.

A fixed type driving simulator is constructed with a car body, beam projector, operation software , driving scenario, and audio equipments. With the simulator, the cognitive effects of fatigue due to two hour continuous driving of a straight road is investigated . The effects of alcohol on driving performance is also studied. The braking operation and lane keeping performance due to fatigue and alcohol are investigated. Changes of vehicle motion due to these effects are verified by computer simulation.

We propose a semi-automatic and dynamic indexing algorithm for multi-media database(e.g. movie files, audio files), which are difficult to create indexes expressing their emotional or abstract contents, according to user's sensitivity by using user's histories of access to database. In this algorithm, we simply categorize data at first, create a vector space of each user's interest(user model) from the history of which categories the data belong to, and create vector space of each data(title model) from the history of which users the data had been accessed from. By continuing the above method, we could create suitable indexes, which show emotional content of each data. In this paper, we define the recurrence formulas based on the proposed algorithm. We also show the effectiveness of the algorithm by simulation result.

This study investigated the key role of sketches in creative fashion design by observing the cognitive process of idea development through a professional's design problem solving using the medium of hand sketching. The three-part semi-constrained design experiment with a professional designer, in which the participant designer was provided a source of inspiration image and asked to design a small collection of outfits, identified a fashion designer's idea development process as involving two phases of sketch processes: lateral and vertical transformation. Analysis of the video/audio recording and corresponding interviews validated lateral transformation in the designer's use of sketches to represent interpretation of the provided inspiration source. Through sketching, the designer transferred fuzzy ideas onto paper. Vertical transformation was observed through the designer's modification of previous ideas after reflecting on earlier sketches, with various ideas divided, manipulated, discarded, regrouped, and combined through sketching activities. The designer's sketching process is valuable design knowledge that facilitates the idea development process and ultimately triggers generation of creative ideas. Understanding it may benefit practitioners and educators.

최근 범죄의 급격한 증가로 인해 사회적 불안감이 고조되고 있다. 이에 사람들의 범죄 예방에 대한 관심이 높아지고 있으며 지능형 CCTV의 발전에도 큰 영향을 미치고 있다. 본 논문에서는 일상적인 환경 잡음 데이터를 분석하였다. 수행 방법은 환경잡음 데이터를 주파수 영역으로 추출하였다. 향후 환경 잡음 데이터를 분석한 결과를 토대로 위험상황을 감지할 수 있도록 하여 보다 효과적인 범죄 예방을 기대한다.

In this paper, we compared and analyzed the discrimination performance of speech/music about combinations of each features parameter. Audio signals are classified into 3 classes (speech, music, speech and music). On three types of features, Mel-cepstrum, energy, zero-crossings used to the experiments. Then compared and analyzed the best of the combinations between features to speech/ music discrimination performance. The best result is achieved using Mel-cepstrum, energy and zero-crossings in a single feature vector (speech: 95.1%, music: 61.9%, speech & music: 55.5%).

국내 가입자 망의 대형 시장을 보호하고 각 기업의 중첩 투자에 대비하고 국제 환경에 효과적으로 대응하기 위한 가입자 망 관련 기술 확보를 위해서는 국내 상황에 필요한 가입자 망 전반에 걸친 구조와 기술에 대하여 표준화가 시급한 실정이다. 다시 말하면 가입자 망의 표준화가 우리의 한정된 기술 개발 자원을 효과적으로 활용, 경쟁력 있는 핵심 기술을 집중적으로 개발하여 국각 경쟁력을 우위에서게 할 뿐 아니라 기술개발 결과물이 조기에 시장 경쟁력을 갖도록 해준다. 가입자 망에 대한 관심이 전세계적으로 매우 높아짐에 따라 ITU-T(International Telecommunication Union-Radio communications Sector), ETSI(European Telecommunication Standards Institute), DAVIC(Digital Audio Visual Council)과 FSAN(Full Service Access Network) Gx와 같은 여러 기관들이 가입자 망의 기능과 구조를 정의하고 있다. 이 논문에서는 각 기관들이 제시하는 가입자 망의 모델에 대해서 살펴보고 국내 상황에 맞는 가입자 망 구조의 표준(안)을 제시한다.

This paper presents a result of sound transmitting system with power line communication technique, Sound transmitting system is a transmitter which transmits modulated audio signal to power to power line and receiver which is capable of detesting it with earphone or speaker. It has been evaluated with the frequency characteristics and spectrum analysis. And, from the result of evaluation on the developed system, we confirm the superior sound transmitting characteristics, and the possibility of application on a language laboratory.
