Objectives : The purpose of this study was to examine the awareness-perception factors and oral health promotion behavior of dental hygiene and nonhealth-related students in an effort to find out factors affecting their oral health promotion behavior. Methods : The subjects in this study were students in the three-year-course dental hygiene and students in the two-year-course nonhealth-related department in G college located in the city of Gwangju. After a survey was conducted, the collected data were analyzed and compared. Results : 1. The dental hygiene students were statistically significantly ahead of the nonhealth-related students in perceived oral health knowledge(p<0.001), awareness of the importance of oral health(p<0.001), perceived oral health status(p<0.001) and oral health interest(p<0.001). 2. Concerning the characteristics of oral health promotion behavior, the dental hygiene students were statistically significantly better at toothbrushing(p<0.001) and the use of dental floss(p<0.001) than the nonhealth-related students. 3. Regarding factors affecting oral health promotion behavior, oral health knowledge and oral health interest were identified as the factors that impacted on oral health promotion behavior. Out of the two, oral health interest exercised a greater influence on that. Conclusions : It seems that oral health education could motivate students to be concerned about their oral health, to acquire knowledge on that and eventually to change their oral health behavior and attitude. As for college students, oral health education provides a final chance for them to check their oral health knowledge, attitude and oral health promotion behavior before they start to work as full-fledged adults, and institutional measures should be taken to offer more intensive official oral health education.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to construct and test a structural equation model on nursing work outcomes based on Youssef and Luthans' positive psychological capital and integrated conceptual framework of work performance. Methods: This study used a structured questionnaire administered to 340 nurses. Data were analyzed using structural equation modeling. Results: Positive psychological capital showed indirect and direct effects on job satisfaction, retention intention, organizational citizenship behavior, and nursing performance. While, the nursing work environment had direct and indirect effects on job satisfaction and nursing performance, it only had indirect effects on intention to work and organizational citizenship behavior. Additionally, a mediating effect on retention intention and organizational citizenship behavior was found between job satisfaction and nursing performance variables. Conclusion: The nursing organization needs to build a supportive work environment and reinforce positive psychological capital to improve nursing performance. Additionally, it needs to actively manage the necessary parameters involved in the stages of job satisfaction, retention intention, nursing performance, and organizational citizenship behavior of nurses. The findings propose the continuous management of nursing personnel based on nurses' attitude outcome, behavioral intention, behavioral outcome, and stage of role performance.

Purpose: The purpose of this research was to determine the effects of a safety management program on safety accident-related knowledge, attitude and behavior of elementary school students in Korea. Methods: This study adopted nonequivalent control group pretest-posttest design. The number of subjects was 34 in the experimental group and 31 in the control group. The safety management program was performed for approximately 50 minutes each session, once a week for 8 weeks. Data were collected from March 14th to June 23th, 2006, and analyzed by ${\chi}^2$ test and independent t-test with SPSS WIN 16.0. Results: There were statistically significant differences in safety-related knowledge (t=3.010, p=.006) and behavior (t=18.833, p=.001) between the experimental group and the control group. The score of attitude was different between the experimental group and the control group but the difference was not statistically significant. Conclusion: The safety management program used in this study was appropriate for elemental school students and affected safety-related knowledge and behavior of elementary school students. Therefore safety education should be provided systematically for elementary schools over the whole country.

Background: Colorectal cancer is one of most common cancers in women and men and one of the major causes of death due to neoplasia. Colonoscopy is considered as the most accurate diagnostic procedure to detect colorectal cancer at the earlier stages. Objectives: The current study aimed to evaluate the effects of an education program using the Theory of Planned Behavior on promoting behavioral intention among first degree relatives of colorectal cancer patients. Materials and Methods: A quasi-experimental study conducted to evaluate the effectiveness of an educational program to promote attitudinal factors associated with early detection of colorectal cancer in 99 first degree relatives of colorectal cancer patients aged more than 20 years in Yazd city, Iran. A researcher made questionnaire forwhich validity and reliability were confirmed by expert point of view and pilot testing was employed for data collection. Questionnaires were filled in before and after educational intervention. The registered data were transferred to SPSS 19 and analyzed by paired T-test, Man-Whitney and Wilcaxon. Results: Mean scores of knowledge, attitude, perceived behavioral control and intention regarding colorectal cancer increased after education significantly (P<0.05). Conclusions: Application of the Theory of Planned Behavior has positive influence on promoting intention behavior. It is therefore recommended to apply educational programs to promote behavioral intention.
The current study aimed at exploring the knowledge and beliefs of men aged forty years and over towards prostate cancer screening and early detection in three Arab countries. The field work was conducted in three countries; Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Jordan, during the period February through December 2011. Our target population were men aged 40 years and over. It was a population-based cross sectional study comprising 400 subjects at each site. In addition to socio-demographic data, history of the present and past medical illness, practice history of prostatic cancer examination, family history of cancer prostate; participants were inquired about their knowledge and attitude towards prostate cancer and screening behavior using two different likert scales. The percentage of participants who practiced regular prostate check up ranged from 8-30%. They had poor knowledge and fair attitude towards prostate cancer screening behavior, where the mean total knowledge score was $10.25{\pm}2.5$, $10.76{\pm}3.39$ and $11.24{\pm}3.39$ whereas the mean total attitude score was $18.3{\pm}4.08$, $20.68{\pm}6.4$ and $17.96{\pm}5.3$ for Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Jordan respectively. The respondents identified the physicians as the main sources of this information (62.4%), though they were not the main motives for regular checkup. Knowledge was the only significant predictor for participants' attitude in the multiple regression models. Participants' attitudes depends mainly on level of knowledge and quantity of information provided to the patients and their families. Such attitudes should rely on a solid background of proper information and motivation from physicians to enhance and empower behaviors towards prostate cancer screening practices.

The purpose of this study was 1) to identify the effects of lifestyle activities and decision -making related variables (shopping orientations, use of information sources and importance of store attributes) on the outshopping behavior of female consumers in Seoul and satellite cities, and 2) to investigate the differences in the effects of those variables on the outshopping behavior among 4 clothing categories (formal wear, separates, casual wear, underwear). The data were collected via a questionnaires from 508 adult females of ages over 20's living in Seoul and satellite cities around Seoul and were analyzed by factor analysis and discriminant analysis. The results of this study were as follows: 1) Some of the factors of 4 decision-making related variables significantly discriminated the outshoppers and inshoppers. The most influential factors were attitude toward imported products, time-oriented and price-oriented attitude of shopping orientations. 2) There were significant differences in the effects of 4 variables on outshopping behaviors among 4 clothing categories. More factors were effective in discriminating the outshopping behavior for formal wear or separates purchase.
Background: Liver fluke infection with Opisthorchis viverrini and its associated cholangiocarcinoma constitute a serious problem in Thailand. Healthy behavior can decrease infection, therefore, the investigation of knowledge, attitude, and practice is need required in high risk areas. Objective: This study aimed to investigate the behavior and perceptions regarding liver fluke. Materials and Methods: A cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted in Chum Phuang district of Nakhon Ratchasima province, Thailand during July to November 2015. A total 80 participants who had screened with verbal screening test, stool examination, and ultrasonography, were purposive selected and completed a pre-designed questionnaire (Kruder-Richardon-20=0.80, Cronbach's alpha coefficient=0.82 and 0.79). T-test, ANOVA, and Pearson correlation test were used for analyzed data. Results: The results reveal that O. viverrini infection was 1.25%, and 3 patients had a dilated bile ducts. The participants had a high knowledge, attitude, and practice regarding liver fluke. The education, occupation, and income, were statistical significant to attitude regarding liver fluke. Nurses and television were the main sources of information regarding liver fluke, with statistical significance(p-value <0.05). Knowledge was significantly associated with attitude and practice (p-value<0.05). Conclusions: Participants had good behavior regarding liver fluke. Improvement of knowledge and attitude is influenced to practical change regarding this carcinogenic fluke. In addition, nurse and television are the main information resources for key success in increasing people perception for disease prevention and control in this area.
This study intends to examine the relations between the demographical and the socioeconomic variables on the post-purchase behavior of durable goods in rural household . Several concrete hypothesis in the above study were set as follows: 1) The evaluation on the post-purchase of rural household might be differently made in accordance with sex, age, resident district, education level, income level, family type and user's own purchasing, etc. 2)There can be differences in the attitude on the post-purchase of rural household in accordance with sex, age, resident district, education level, income level, family type and user's own purchasing, etc. 3) It must be of necessity to habe correlation between the evaluation and the attitude of the post- purchase. To examine these hypothesis, the study used the 27 questionnaires which are composed of 7 subject for general characteristics and 10 subjects respectively for the post-purchase evaluation and attitude of 285 rural households in Chon Nam Province. They were interviewed for 11days from Apr. 1st, 1983 to Apr. 11 the, 1983. Statistical methods such as frequency, percentage, Chi-Square test, arithmetical mean, t-test, F-test and Pearson's correlation coefficients, etc. are used for the data analysis. The summary and the conclusion resulted form such analysis are as follows; First, high significances are shown on the age the resident district the education level and the family type as significant variables affecting on the post-purchase evaluation of the rural house hold. Second, high significances are shown on the education level, the income level, the family type and the users own purchasing, etc. as significant variables affecting on the post-purchase attitude of rural household. Third, correlations between the post-purchase evaluation and the post-purchase attitude are very close. Therefore the hypothesis 1)and 2) of this study were accepted partially and the hypothesis 3) was confirmed wholely.
Background: Skin cancer is a global health problem that can be prevented by protective behavior promoted by nurses. In Turkey, only few studies have examined current knowledge of nurses related to skin cancer and to reveal their attitudes towards sun exposure and current protective behavior. Materials and Methods: This descriptive cross-sectional study was performed from March 11 to May 30, 2013 with a study sample of 310 nurses working in two state hospitals located in Karab$\ddot{u}$k and Safranbolu. Results: Mean age of the nurses was $30.3{\pm}6.89$ years and 96.1% of them had graduated with a Bachelor degree. The participants were predominantly female (n=284). Knowledge level about skin cancer was significantly higher for females compared to males. Conclusions: Nurses do not have sufficient knowledge about skin cancer and are not adequately protecting themselves from ultraviolet light, the primary risk factor for skin cancer. While they demonstrated a responsible attitude towards avoiding sunburn and the need for adequate sun protection, they do not fully appreciate the extent to which the sun can cause skin cancer and that they lack full understanding about the need to protect the skin from burning and to avoid long term sun exposure in Turkey.

Purpose: This study looked at perfume buying patterns among 328 adolescents. Research design, data and methodology: The purchasing behaviors and attitudes of adolescents were divided into clusters and whether the purchasing behaviors and attitudes of each cluster had a moderating effect on purchasing behavior factors was analyzed. Results: Group classification according to attitude toward perfume purchasing behavior was divided into group 1, which purchases perfume according to one's own subjective opinion, and group 2, who purchases perfume according to external factors. Among the six purchasing behavior factors, the internal pleasure-seeking (p.<001) and fashion-seeking (p.<001) factors were statistically significant in both clusters 1 and 2, and in cluster 2, economic feasibility (p.<001)) internal product. It was found to be statistically significant other than pleasure and trend-seeking, indicating that there is a difference between the two groups. Conclusion:Adolescents consider economic feasibility when purchasing perfume, so it is necessary to set low prices and diversify products for marketing plans for perfume products
