  • Spatially varied unsteady flow in a groave-like channel of a sloping roof is analyzed by numerical solution of Saint Venant equations. Depth variations are discussed with different slopes and bed roughness of the channel. Time to equilibrium is found to be inversely proportional to the kinematic flow number. The design of roof drainage system by different schemes is included.

  • Nonlinear time series prediction is derived and compared between statistic of modeling and neural network method. In particular mean squared errors of predication are obtained in generalized random coefficient model and generalized autoregressive conditional heteroscedastic model and compared with them by neural network forecasting.

  • The problem of detecting change with independent data is considered. The asymptotic distribution of the sample change process with the sample Fourier coefficients is shown as a Brownian Bridge process. We suggest to use dynamic statistics such as a sample Brownian Bridge and graphs as statistical animation. Graphs including change PP plots are given by way of illustration with the simulated data.

  • there are several methods available for estimating parameters in overdispersed binary response data with the litter effect. Simulations are performed to compare methods for estimating an overall mean and an overdispersion parameter using moments a maximum likelihood under a beta-binomial distribution a maximum quasi-likelihood and a maximum extended quasi-likelihood.
