In this paper, we propose and demonstrate an effective video advertising method for on-line shopping malls. For the Internet advertising, we make a mouse with a small OLED display that can communicate with PC's Internet network. Without displaying the teasing Pop-ups on the PC's monitor, the advertising for a shopping mall is directly sent to the OLED display on the mouse. Also, the proposed method has merits of sending the advertising based on customer's preference by using IP multicasting, which the customer can select an advertising category in advance. When the customer want to buy an item on the OLED display, the detail advertising can be immediately accessed through a Web browser on PC's monitor by pushing a special button on the mouse.

The femtocell is a miniaturized Base Station (BS) with low-cost and low-power using general broadband access network as backhaul. It is expected not only to improve indoor coverage but also to reduce a service charge. However, in IEEE 802,16e femtocells, when the Mobile Station (MS) scans neighbor BSs for handover, it takes a long time due to too many number of femto BSs. Also the size of the neighbor advertisement message that will be periodically sent by a serving BS is increased as the number of target femto BSs for scanning increases. In this paper, we proposed an efficient femtocell scanning scheme, using a triangulation mechanism and a femto BS monitoring scheme to reduce the number of scanning operations and the size of the neighbor advertisement messages. The proposed scheme can avoid wasting air resources and reduce scanning overheads by minimal scanning operation. The simulation results showed that the proposed scheme could improve scanning performance and avoid wasting air resources, compared with the conventional scheme of the IEEE 802.16e system.

Objectives: The aim of this study was to establish a fundamental base for hGMP operational systems implementation. Method: The survey was done with a questionnaire developed through consulting specialists, in order to investigate the present state of manpower, facilities and capitalization of private enterprises, and opinions on what the road map for hGMP implementation must include. Results: The results showed that the business scales of related enterprises were relatively small. Education and health monitoring of employees has been done in fair amounts, but a standard must be established. Essential facilities required for herbal product production were present in most cases. Recognition and understanding of hGMP was low. Various opinions on the implementation of hGMP were gathered. Conclusion: Standardized hGMP education programs, plans to modify existing facilities, public announcements and advertisement of the system, and public assistance funds and tax privileges are needed for the successful implementation of the hGMP operational system.

The problems of unemployment have been recognized as male problems even though the female unemployment problems are as significant as those of men since IMF. The women who have experienced insecure employment and lower wage than men in the labor market are having more serious economic difficulties after being unemployed. Especially economic problems of the unemployed female headed families are anticipated to be tremendous because the female heads do not have spouses who can act as a buffer seeking or beginning to work to reduce economic hardship. The purpose of this paper is to compare living conditions and utilization of the unemployment programs between male and female heads of the family who are unemployed and discouraged workers. It will examine the functionalism, human capital theory, and feminist perspectives on the cause of female unemployment in order to help understanding of their living situations after being unemployed. Then, it will compare the socio-demographic characteristics, their economic activities before being unemployed, their living conditions and changes in family life after being unemployed, their efforts to overcome unemployment and utilization of various government unemployment programs. It used the national data of National Unemployment Survey of Korean Institute of Health and Social Affairs conducted in 1998 and analyzed 283 female and 1,528 male family heads who are unemployed and discouraged workers. It reveals that the female family heads experienced lower economic status in the labor market before being unemployed, are having more serious economic hardship because of it, utilize more of the government programs such as public work and public assistance than the male family heads but less of the public loans for the unemployed. It recommends expansion of public work and public assistance, more vigorous advertisement of various unemployment programs, and active training of job creation technique for female family heads.
