  • In this paper, We focused the issue of creating a socially problematic nurse schedule. The nurse schedule should be prepared in consideration of three shifts, appropriate placement of experienced workers, the fairness of work assignment, and legal work standards. Because of the complex structure of the nurse schedule, which must reflect various requirements, in most hospitals, the nurse in charge writes it by hand with a lot of time and effort. This study attempted to automatically create an optimized nurse schedule based on legal labor standards and fairness. We developed an I/O Q-Learning algorithm-based model based on Python and Web Application for automatic nurse schedule. The model was trained to converge to 100 by creating an Fairness Indicator Score(FIS) that considers Labor Standards Act, Work equity, Work preference. Manual nurse schedules and this model are compared with FIS. This model showed a higher work equity index of 13.31 points, work preference index of 1.52 points, and FIS of 16.38 points. This study was able to automatically generate nurse schedule based on reinforcement Learning. In addition, as a result of creating the nurse schedule of E hospital using this model, it was possible to reduce the time required from 88 hours to 3 hours. If additional supplementation of FIS and reinforcement Learning techniques such as DQN, CNN, Monte Carlo Simulation and AlphaZero additionally utilize a more an optimized model can be developed.

  • In both deteministic user Optimal Traffic Assignment Model (UOTAM) and stochastic UOTAM, travel time, which is a major ccriterion for traffic loading over transportation network, is defined by the sum of link travel time and turn delay at intersections. In this assignment method, drivers actual route perception processes and choice behaviors, which can become main explanatory factors, are not sufficiently considered: therefore may result in biased traffic loading. Even though there have been some efforts in Stochastic UOTAM for reflecting drivers' route perception cost by assuming cumulative distribution function of link travel time, it has not been fundamental fruitions, but some trials based on the unreasonable assumptions of Probit model of truncated travel time distribution function and Logit model of independency of inter-link congestion. The critical reason why deterministic UOTAM have not been able to reflect route perception cost is that the route perception cost has each different value according to each origin, destination, and path connection the origin and destination. Therefore in order to find the optimum route between OD pair, route enumeration problem that all routes connecting an OD pair must be compared is encountered, and it is the critical reason causing computational failure because uncountable number of path may be enumerated as the scale of transportation network become bigger. The purpose of this study is to propose a method to enable UOTAM to reflect route perception cost without route enumeration between an O-D pair. For this purpose, this study defines a link as a least definition of path. Thus since each link can be treated as a path, in two links searching process of the link label based optimum path algorithm, the route enumeration between OD pair can be reduced the scale of finding optimum path to all links. The computational burden of this method is no more than link label based optimum path algorithm. Each different perception cost is embedded as a quantitative value generated by comparing the sub-path from the origin to the searching link and the searched link.

  • For the purpose of preciously describing real time traffic pattern in urban road network, dynamic network loading(DNL) models able to simulate traffic behavior are required. A number of different methods are available, including macroscopic, microscopic dynamic network models, as well as analytical model. Equivalency minimization problem and Variation inequality problem are the analytical models, which include explicit mathematical travel cost function for describing traffic behaviors on the network. While microscopic simulation models move vehicles according to behavioral car-following and cell-transmission. However, DNL models embedding such travel time function have some limitations ; analytical model has lacking of describing traffic characteristics such as relations between flow and speed, between speed and density Microscopic simulation models are the most detailed and realistic, but they are difficult to calibrate and may not be the most practical tools for large-scale networks. To cope with such problems, this paper develops a new DNL model appropriate for dynamic traffic assignment(DTA), The model is combined with vertical queue model representing vehicles as vertical queues at the end of links. In order to compare and to assess the model, we use a contrived example network. From the numerical results, we found that the DNL model presented in the paper were able to describe traffic characteristics with reasonable amount of computing time. The model also showed good relationship between travel time and traffic flow and expressed the feature of backward turn at near capacity.

  • This paper reports the structural health monitoring benchmark study results for the Canton Tower using Bayesian methods. In this study, output-only modal identification and finite element model updating are considered using a given set of structural acceleration measurements and the corresponding ambient conditions of 24 hours. In the first stage, the Bayesian spectral density approach is used for output-only modal identification with the acceleration time histories as the excitation to the tower is unknown. The modal parameters and the associated uncertainty can be estimated through Bayesian inference. Uncertainty quantification is important for determination of statistically significant change of the modal parameters and for weighting assignment in the subsequent stage of model updating. In the second stage, a Bayesian model updating approach is utilized to update the finite element model of the tower. The uncertain stiffness parameters can be obtained by minimizing an objective function that is a weighted sum of the square of the differences (residuals) between the identified modal parameters and the corresponding values of the model. The weightings distinguish the contribution of different residuals with different uncertain levels. They are obtained using the Bayesian spectral density approach in the first stage. Again, uncertainty of the stiffness parameters can be quantified with Bayesian inference. Finally, this Bayesian framework is applied to the 24-hour field measurements to investigate the variation of the modal and stiffness parameters under changing ambient conditions. Results show that the Bayesian framework successfully achieves the goal of the first task of this benchmark study.

  • The central composite design (CCD) is often used to estimate the second-order linear model. This paper uses a correlation induction strategy of common random numbers (CRN) in simulation experiment and utilizes the induced correlations to obtain better estimates for the second-order linear model. This strategy assigns the CRN to all design points in the CCD. An appropriate selection of the axial points in CCD makes the weighted least squares (WLS) estimator be equivalent to ordinary least squares (OLS) estimator in estimating the linear model parameters of CCD. We analytically investigate the efficiency of this strategy in estimation of model parameters. Under certain conditions, this correlation induction strategy yields better results than independent random number strategy in estimating model parameters except intercept. The simulation experiment on a selected model supports such results. We expect a suggested random number assignment is useful in application of CCD in simulation experiments.

  • All artists set the arrangement of relative probability subjectively by giving the contrast of color and chroma to give higher probability of some colors in their works and then perform the mechanical assignment. Also the analysis of plastic structure in all areas of design has been made by subjective and qualitative method based on the emotion, intuition and experience of interpreter of design structures and that of color structures was done by the same method. Therefore this study compares and suggests the style characteristics of modern and postmodern design with the object quantitative analysis of color structure by selecting and applying Ilya Chashinik's ceramic dishes as the analysis product of modern design and Jim Melchert's ceramic wall painting as that of postmodern design of 'analysis model of color structure' researched and developed for the quantitative information analysis based on information and communication theory and it is also meaningful in introducing and presenting the analytic procedure and methods centering around quantitative analysis model of color structure analysis.

  • The objectives of access control are to protect computing and communication resources from illegal use, alteration, disclosure and destruction by unauthorized users. Although Biba security model is well suited for protecting the integrity of information, it is considered too restrictive to be an access control model for commercial environments. And, Role-Based Access Control(RBAC) model, a flexible and policy-neutral security model that is being widely accepted in commercial areas, has a possibility for compromising integrity of information. In this paper, We present the role graph model which enhanced flexibility and integrity to management of many access permission. Also, In order to represent those rule and constraints clearly, formal descriptions of role assignment rule and constraints in Z language are also given.

  • A solution procedure to minimize total carousel related costs has been developed under the carousel throughput rate and total storage capacity requirements. The carousel related costs include carousel facility costs which are proportional to the number of carousels and carousel operating costs which are directly related to the moving distances of carousels. The number of carousels is dependent upon the size of a carousel and the moving distances are determined by the size of a carousel, storage item assignment to each carousel, and the item positions in a carousel. When the storage/retrieval requirements for each storage item is equal, an optimal algorithm has been developed. When the storage/retrieval requirements is unequal, a heuristic solution procedure has been developed because of the complexity of the problem.

  • This paper presents two approaches for designing a digital controller of UPS inverter with time response requirements and a fixed sampling time, which are inward and outward approaches based on a double loop feedback structure. In both approaches, the emulation method. is occupied. Thus we first design continuous-time controllers and then obtain digital controllers by using discretization. We apply the characteristic ratio assignment (CRA) in order to achieve the time response specifications. Also, the internal model control has been used for compensating phase delay in outward approach. The performances of the proposed controller are evaluated through several simulations carried out with Simpower system toolbox 3.0 of $Simulink^{(R)}$.

  • This Paper presents an application example of the Adaptive Robust Servocontrol (ARSC) scheme, which is an explicit (or indirect) pole-assignment adaptive algorithm with the property of "robustness". The ARSC scheme is applied to an end-milling process for cutting force regulation. It is shown that the federate of an end-milling process can be maximized by the adaptive regulation of the peak cutting force through the ARSC scheme. The results of simulation study and real cutting experiment are presented. It has been verified that asymptotic regulation can be achieved with robustness against the slowly time-varying perturbations to the process model parameters, which are caused by nonlinear cutting dynamics. dynamics.
