  • LOSA is spreading rapidly over the world to improve safety of the airlines using threat and error management system. LOSA has shown its success on the major improvement on many areas including the riskiest phase called the blue box, which is the busiest during approach and landing. Asiana Airlines has completed data collection in 2004 and round table for the data cleaning, to implement safety change process. The propose of this paper is to introduce the LOSA, ICAO DOC 9803, and the experience of Asiana.

아시아나 항공의 예약정보시스템 (Asiana Airlines' Computer Reservation System)

  • This paper presents a developmental approach undertaken by Asiana Airlines to implement computerized reservation system (CRS), Asiana Airlines is a new entrant into the once monopolized airline business in Korea. As a new entrant, it was absolutely necessary to develop CRS fast to begin the business in a relatively short period of time. By taking the risk of choosing Airline Control System which no airlines has yet implemented CRS with, Asiana Airlines was able to shorten development time considerably as well as integrate CRS with internal management information systems. This enhances system flexibility greatly. It is initially viewed that developing CRS is not to get competitive advantage but to overcome competitive disadvantage at Asiana Airlines. The paper also surveys the changing environment of CRS in general and the future implementation plan for ARTIS(Asiana Airline Reservation and Travel Information System) to be more of a competitive weapon in increasingly competitive international air travel market.

A321 Sharklet 모델의 운항실적을 이용한 윙렛 장착 효과 검증 및 경제성 분석 (Verification of Winglet Effect and Economic Analysis Using Actual Flight of A321 Sharklet Model)

  • 윙렛은 유도항력을 줄이기 위한 장비로, 1980년대부터 보잉사에서 제작한 항공기에 장착되기 시작했고, 에어버스에서는 2009년부터 'Sharklet'이라는 이름의 윙렛을 개발하여 A320 Family에 장착 옵션으로 제공하기 시작했다. 윙렛은 날개 끝단에서 발생하는 유도항력을 감소시켜 이륙성능 향상, 연료소모량 감소, 유상탑재량 증대 및 운항거리 증가의 효과를 내고 있다. 본 연구는 Sharklet이 장착된 A321 항공기와 미장착된 A321 항공기의 실제 운항 데이터를 분석하여 윙렛 장착에 따른 연료 효율성 향상을 검증하고 이에 따른 경제성 분석을 목적으로 한다. 이를 통해 항공기 도입 시 윙렛 장착 사양 결정 혹은 기존 항공기의 업그레이드를 위한 의사 결정에 활용할 수 있다. 이를 위해 윙렛 장착에 따른 공력 특성 연구 사례조사와 효과 확인 연구를 수행하고 경제성을 검증하였다.

  • In this thesis. I have first introduced and studied Chubb & Son. Inc. v. Asiana Airlines. 214 F.3d 301 (2nd Cir. 2000). which held that at the time that the dispute in this case arose. there was no treaty relationship between the United States and South Korea under the Original Warsaw convention. the Hague Protocol. or a treaty consisting of those provisions of the Original Convention that were not amended by the Protocol. And I have analyzed U.S. government s position that was expressed in Brief for the United States as Amicus Curiae on petition for a writ certiorari to the 2nd Circuit on Chubb & Son case and 2nd Circuit s Fujitsu Limited v. Federal Express Corporation. 247 F.3d 423 (2001) which was held in a related question afterwards but was somewhat inconsistent with Chubb & Son s holding. Furthermore. I also examined U.S. government s measures which have been considered and taken to cope with consequences of Chubb & Son case's ruling. Lastly. I have examined several effects which Chubb & Son s ruling would give our nation s airlines and suggested our government's countermeasures.

주요 항공사별 여객의 변동률 및 방향성 연구 (A Study on the Rate of Change and Direction of Passengers by Major Airlines)

  • 본 연구 목적은 주요 항공사별 여객의 동향과 변동률을 도출하고 방향성과 동조화현상을 파악하는데 있다. 통계청 국가통계포럼에서 항공사별 자료를 수집하고 2011년 1월부터 2023년 11월까지 총 155개 월간자료를 활용하였다. 국내 대형항공사인 대한항공과 아시아나항공, 저비용항공사인 제주항공, 진에어, 티웨이 그리고 외국항공사를 대상으로 변동률을 산출하였다. 분석결과, 상관관계분석은 한국 총 여객에 대해 아시아나, 대한항공, 제주항공, 티웨이, 진에어, 외항사 순으로 높게 나타났다. 상승률은 티웨이, 진에어, 제주항공, 외항사, 아시아나, 대한항공 순으로 높게 나타났다. Scatter 분석에서 한국 총 여객에 대해 아시아나와 대한항공이 매우 강한 동조화현상을 보여주었고, 제주항공, 티웨이, 진에어, 외항사은 일정 수준 유사한 방향성을 보여주었다. Box-Box Plot 분석에서, 각 항공사는 코로나 19 발생으로 일시적인 급등락현상이 다수 발생하였던 것으로 보였다. 저비용항공사의 출현으로 승객 입장에서는 선택의 폭이 넓어지면서 서비스에 대한 기대감이 커질 것이고 그럴수록 항공사 간 경쟁이 높아질 것으로 보여 기업 발전을 위해 이를 만족시킬 수 있는 환경개선이 뒤따라야 할 것이다.

Decomposing Relationship between Safety Climate, Safety Perception, and Safety Behavior in Airline Industry

  • This research aims to investigate the relationship between safety climate and safety perception and safety behavior. Safety perception of the relationship is considered to have a mediating effect. Previous literature has tended to regard safety perception as an independent variable at the same level as the safety climate, which can be said to depend on behavioralism to approach the causal relationship to an one-way perspective. The survey was administrated through full- service carries in Korea such as Korean Air and Asiana Airlines, and low-cost carriers such as JeJu air, Jin air, and Air Pusan. It can identify a mediator of safety perception between safety climate and safety behavior. There are significant indirect effects of each value, which means mediators values of safety perception of safety climate variables and safety behavior. The study highlights that airlines should focus on the importance of their psychological aspects to strengthen the safety behavior of flight attendants and the value of organizational efforts to mature safety perceptions, suggesting some implications of theoretical and practical aspects.
