  • On BIPV systems, especially roof-top PV systems, the power generation is easier to be reduced due to the shades of facilities nearby, or roof itself. To secure profitability of roof-top PV systems, the optimal design of solar arrays through the precise shading analysis is an important item of design considerations. In this paper, an optimization system for array design of roof-top PVs is to be developed using three-dimensional Geospatial Information System(GIS). The profitability of income and expense is considered through the shading analysis of entire roofs. By applying the system to project for validation, the adequacy and the improvement of NPV of the system were verified compared to expert's design. The system has significance by reason that PV modules are placed through rules established with expert knowledge and geometric rules were applied to reflect the constructability and maintainability.

  • The method of designing microstrip array antenna for low sidelobe level and narrow beam-width using Dolph-Chebyshev array is presented. The widths of microstrip antenna corresponding to excitation coefficients obtained by Dolph-Chebyshev array polynomials is decided by calculating radiation resistance using cavity model analysis. The cascaded array microstrip antenna composed of 10-elements with resonant frequency to be 9.43[GHz] is fabricated by using design method presented in this paper. The experimental results of relatively good characteristics show that its gain, sidelobe level and beam-width are 9[dB], -22[dB] and 8.7[$^{\circ}$].

  • This paper describes 3-dimensional volume array of 4 microphones including a reference microphone which is capable of imaging wideband noise source position in 2-dimensional image plane. The cross correlation function and corresponding imaging function between a reference microphone and other microphone, are derived as a function of noise source position. The magnitude of the imaging function gives noise source mapping in image plane. Since the image plane is selective from a rectangular and a cylindrical plane, noise source position information such as range and bearing relative to the array is identified very much easily. Simulation results for typical source configurations confirms the applicability of the proposed array in noise control field.

  • Three types of array antennas are developed for broadcasting band of Koreasat III. First, the specification of the array antenna is decided. Second, characteristics and advantages of three types of antennas using the radial waveguide characteristics is investigated and discussed. Third, design method fur those antenna is studied to meet antenna specifications, and then antennas are designed and tested. Finally, it is concluded that these types of antennas can be efficiently design compared to both parabola antennas and microstrip array within the limited size.

  • In this paper, design and implementation issues for a network-oriented RF emitter localization system with array antenna are discussed. For hardware, the problem of array mismatch and RF/IF channel mismatch are introduced and the calibration schemes for solving those problems are also provided. For software, it is explained how to overcome the drawback of conventional MUltiple Signal Identification and Classification (MUSIC) algorithm in a point of identifying the number of received signals and problems such as Data Association Problem and Ghost Node Problem in regard to multiple emitter localization are presented with some approaches for getting around those problems. Finally, for implementation, a criterion for arranging each of sensors and a requirement for alignment of array antenna' orientation are also given.

  • In this paper, the bit-level 1-dimensional systolic array for modular multiplication is designed. First of all, the parallel algorithm and data dependence graph from walter's method based on montgomery algorithm suitable for array design for modular multiplication is derived. By the systematic procedure for systolic array design, four 1-dimensional systolic arrays are obtained and then are evaluated by various criteria. As it is modified the array which is derived form [0,1] projection direction by adding a control logic and it is serialized the communication paths of data A, optimal 1-dimensional systolic array is designed. It has constant I/O channels for expansile module and it is easy for fault tolerance due to unidirectional paths. It is suitable for RSA cryptosystem which deals iwth the large size and many consecutive message blocks.

  • This Paper Presents development of solar may shunt switching unit with a fully regulated Power regulation for Geostationary Earth Orbit(GEO) satellite. This shunt switching unit comprises the solar may shunt modules that regulate the solar array power. These solar array shunt modules connect/disconnect the solar array segments to/from the bus through switching actions. And that is also possible simply extension to an existing design by FPGA control logic changing. In order to verify the proposed design, the control logic and worst case analysis are analyzed and the simulation and experimental results we shown.

  • This paper describes the optimal design of an AWG spectrum to meet various specifications and improve some physical parameters. The objective function is the norm of the difference between design parameters and target values. To obtain the design parameters, the Fourier model is employed and the design variables arc spacing of array waveguide, width of array waveguide, optical path difference, and focal length. The (1+1) Evolution Strategy is employed as the optimization tool. The optimization procedure is applied to a 16-channel AWG and the optimized design variables will considerably improve the system performance.

  • Free-Flooded Ring (FFR) transducer array for use in Sonar system can be driven with large amplitude in a wide frequency band due to its structural characteristics, in which two resonances of a ring mode (1st radial mode) and an inner cavity vibration mode occur in a low frequency band. Since its sound wave generation characteristics are not influenced by the water pressure, the FFR transducer array is widely used in the deep sea. So FFR has been recognized as a low-frequency active sound source and has received much attention ever since. In order to utilize the FFR transducer array for SONAR systems in military and industrial applications, its equivalent electric circuit model is necessary especially to design the matching circuit between the driving power amplifier and the FFR transducer array. Thus this paper proposes the equivalent electric circuit model of FFR transducer array by using measured values of parameter, and suggest the improved method of parameter identification. Finally it verifies the effectiveness of the proposed circuit model of FFR transducer array by experimental measurements.
