Here we discuss a geochemical characterisitc of rare earth element (REE) pattern of a Precambrain leucogranitic gneiss at Imweon, Gangwon Province, Korea. The outcrop includes biotite gneiss xenolith. The leucocratic granite gneiss contacting with biotite gneiss is pegmatitic. However, there is no evidence of contact metamorphism between biotite gneiss and leucocratic-pegmatitic granite gneiss. The leucocratic granite gneiss shows a specific phenomenon of M-type (convex curved) tetrad effect in chondrite-normalized REE patterns with large negative Eu anomaly. The degree of REE tetrad effect in the leucocratic-pegmatitic granitec gneiss is weak and shows partly W-type (concave curved) tetrad effect. The Eu anomaly of leucocratic granite gneiss has close relationship with the degree of tetrad effect as well as Ca/Sr ratio. Our results suggest that the REE tetrad effect from the leucocratic granite gneiss should be formed during differentiation process of granitic magma. We also confirmed that the weathering might affect Eu or Ce anomaly rather than the formation of REE tetrad effect in granitic rock.

The purpose of this document is to provide basic data helpful in selecting seating device material by examining the affects of polyurethane foam material on seating pressure. In order to achieve this study objective, four seats, 6cm in height, were produced in hardness of: 13, 28, 25, and $45kg/cm^2$. To measure the sitting pressure distribution (depending on the characteristics of the produced seats), 10 healthy subjects participated in the experiment. XSENSOR was used a measuring device, and each seat was mounted on a wheelchair simulation. By analyzing the obtained data with Average Pressure(AP), Peak Pressure(PP,), and Contact Area(CA), the sitting pressure was measured for five minutes on each seat. This experiment showed the following results: There were significant differences between the AP, PP, and CA in the seat material (p<0.5). While the hardness of $18kg/cm^2$ showed low pressure, the hardness of $45kg/cm^2$ showed high pressure. This study also showed that seat material made of polyurethane should be considered when selecting seats. If polyurethane foam is used in seat recommendations, it will be recommended to use $18kg/cm^2$ for the proper hardness of the seat material.
We determined SHRIMP U-Pb ages of the detrital zircons separated from the Bangnim Group of the Pyeongchang area to constrain its depositional age. As the result, the minimum age group yielded $^{206}Pb/^{238}U$ age of $450.3{\pm}4.2Ma$ (n=3), suggesting depositional age younger than Late Ordovician. Therefore, the Bangnim Group cannot be a Precambrian sedimentary formation but is younger than Myobong Formation of the Early Paleozoic Joseon Supergroup of the Taebaeksan basin. Such a depositional age implies that the Bangnim Group and structurally overlying Jangsan Quartzite should be in fault contact, suggesting that the Jangsan Quartzite, Myobong Formation and Pungchon Limestone thrusted over the Bangnim Group. The zircon U-Pb age distribution pattern of the Bangnim Group resembles those of the Early Paleozoic Myobong and Sambangsan Formations of the Taebaeksan basin and seemingly Middle Paleozoic Daehyangsan Quartzite and the Taean Formation. However, detrital zircon U-Pb age patterns of the Late Paleozoic Pyeongan Supergroup are quite distinct from them, suggesting drastic change in provenance of the detrital zircon supply. Therefore, we suggest that the Bangnim Group was deposited before the Pyeongan Supergroup.

Purpose: We investigated the clinical characteristics and demographics of patients who suffered from hydrofluoric acid chemical injury and the mechanism of damage. Methods: We retrospectively reviewed the medical records of patients who were exposed to hydrofluoric acid from March 2004 to March 2009 and who were seen at the emergency centers in two university teaching hospitals. Results: Forty four patients out of 47 patients suffered from chemical burn, while the injuries of the remaining 3 could not be identified by the medical records. A total of 17 hydrofluoric acid chemical injury patients were enrolled during the study period, and their mean age was $29.6{\pm}7.0$. All the patients were accidentally injured by contact with the material and none of them inhaled or ingested the material. Only 6 patients wore appropriate protective equipments and 5 underwent the water irrigation for more than 10 minutes. The most common exposure area was the hand and forearm (70.5%). Less than 1% of all of the patients had their total body surface (TBS) exposed to hydrofluoric acid (mean=0.35%). The mean time interval from calcium gluconate administration to pain relief was $33.6{\pm}8.8$ hours. Conclusion: When exposed to hydrofluoric acid, it is important to wear protective equipment and undergo water irrigation for more than 10 minutes. Pain and skin damage were observed in all the patients. After treatment, we concluded that administration of calcium gluconate and pain killers was successful in relieving pain, and the prognosis was also positive for the admitted and followed up patients when less than 1% of the TBS was exposed.
The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of salesperson's adaptive selling tactics on consumers who purchase Small and Medium Enterprises' product with the help of salespeople in the store. Specifically, we examine whether salesperson's adaptive selling tactics affect consumers hedonic shopping value and utilitarian shopping value. Furthermore, we try to figure out the effect of shopping value on the salesperson relationship commitment and consumer product satisfaction. The subjects of this study have surveyed the consumers with experience in purchasing SME's products through salespeople in the Gyeongnam area. As data process, SPSS 21.0 was used as the analysis tool and AMOS 21.0 was used to analyze the structural equation model. The implications of these findings are as follows. First, the salesperson's role has a positive effect on the consumer's product satisfaction. Second, it can be suggested that the salesperson's adaptive selling tactics are an important variable affecting the consumer's shopping value. Third, the results on the consumers who have hedonic shopping value have a strong positive influence rather than the consumers who have the utilitarian shopping value. The adaptive selling tactics of the salesperson should be encouraged to increase sales performance. In order to generate more performance in a competitive market environment, it is necessary to continuously strive to increase contact between the salesperson and the consumer in order to improve the quality of the relationship.
The PES-g-BTCA membrane was synthesized by UV irradiation method and then used to be modified into the PES anion exchange membrane by the amination reaction. Their chemical structures and adsorption properties were investigated. The degree of grafting and amination were increased with increasing the reaction time and had the maximum values of 138% and 1.20 mmol/g at 80 min, respectively. The initial thermal degradation temperature of PES membrane was $400^{\circ}C$. Which was reduced as the surface modification reaction had proceeded. The values of contact angle for PES membrane were decreased from 68.1 to $40.2^{\circ}$ with increasing the extent of amination, the water up-take and ion exchange capacity were also increased with increasing UV irradiation time until 80 min. The average pore size and BET surface area were decreased in order of PES, PES-g-BTCA, and aminated PES ion exchange membrane. Their average pore sizes were 624.8, 359.7, and 138.5 ${\AA}$, and their surface areas were 10.1,9.7 and 1.7 $m^2/g$, respectively.

This paper described the epidemiological characteristics of 2002 outbreak of classical swine fever (CSF) in Korea. A total of thirteen CSF-infected farms could be classified into two clusters according to the location and time of outbreak. Two farms located in the same county of Gangwon province and 11 farms located in several different districts of Incheon metropolitan/Gyeonggi province were identified as CSF-infected from April 16 to 30 and from October 7 to December 21 in 2002, respectively. As the result of epidemiological analysis, the two clusters of outbreaks were turned out to be independent epidemics which had different sources of virus introduction. Three farms were found to have been infected primarily; one located in Cheolwon county of Gangwon province and two located in Kangwha county of Incheon metropolitan area. The most likely factors of virus introduction into these primary infected farms were considered to be direct or indirect contact by foreign workers and/or owners of the infected farms who had come back from traveling in China before outbreaks. This was supported by the genetic typing of CSF viruses isolated from the pigs of infected farms. All the virus isolates of 2002 outbreak were found to be genetic type 2, whereas the viruses isolated before 2000 were type 3 and the reference strains, such as attenuated live vaccine virus (LOM strain) and high virulent challenge virus (ALD strain), were type 1. Accordingly, we concluded that the 2002 CSF outbreak must have been caused by a newly introduced virus from overseas and the type 3 virus must have been eradicated after the last outbreak of 1999 by the national CSF eradication campaign which were implemented since 1996. Based on the combined analysis of epidemiological data and genetic typing, the transmission routes of classical swine fever virus were found to be the movement of vehicles (60%) and persons (10%), neighbourhood spread (20%) and unknown (10%). It is expected that the analyzed data and findings of classical swine fever outbreak epidemic could be very useful to establish the disease control and eradication program for the country in the future.
The goal of this study is to provide basic data to establish a foundation for the provision of safe drinkable water. The raw water of natural mineral water was analyzed to determine the quantities of anions (F-, Cl-, NO3-N-, and SO42- ) and cations (Ca2+, K+, Mg2+, and Na+) during the former and latter half of 2016. Analysis of the current quality of the raw water of natural mineral water among domestic manufacturers showed average anions contents of 0.46mg/L of fluorine, 8mg/L of chlorine ion, 1.5mg/L of nitrate nitrogen, and 12mg/L of sulfate ion. While the fluorine content was greater than the water quality criterion of 2.0mg/L at four points, the fluorine level was overall stable. The average cations contents included 21.3mg/L of calcium, 1.0mg/L of potassium, 3.4mg/L of magnesium, and 9.6mg/L of sodium. The chemical characteristics were compared among the major ions, and the results are presented in a piper diagram. The content ratio of cations was in the order of Ca2+> Na+>Mg2+>K+, whereas that of anions was in the order of SO42->Cl->NO3-N->F-. While the cations were slightly scattered, the anions were generally concentrated except for at a few points. The Ca-Na-HCO3 type was dominant overall in water sources from diorite, gneiss, and granite, while the Na-Mg-Ca-HCO3-Cl type was dominant in basalt sources. Mineral water manufacturers source their water under various conditions, including in-hole casing, excavation depth, and contact state of bedrock; even within the same rocky area, some differences in the water quality type can occur. When the depth of the water source was taken into account, the mean anions contents of F-, Cl-, NO3-N-, and SO42- were similar, with no significant differences according to depth. Of the cations, K+ and Na+ showed no significant differences across all the tubular wells, whereas Ca2+ and Mg2+ decreased in content with depth.
The water treatment plants in Seoul Metropolitan Area, which are under Korea Water Resources Corporation(KOWACO)'s management, take water from Paldang Reservoir in Han River System for drinking water supply. There are taste and odor (T&O) problems in the finished water because the conventional treatment processes do not effectively remove the T&O compounds. As part of countermeasures for taste and odor control, KOWACO is planning to introduce advanced water treatment process such as ozone and GAC in near future. This study evaluated the removal characteristics of T&O and dissolved organic matter (DOM) to find design and operation parameters of advanced water treatment processes in a pilot-scale treatment plant. The GAC adsorption capacity for DOC in the two GAC system (GAC and $O_3$-GAC) at an EBCT of 14min was mostly exhausted after 9months. The differency of the removal efficiency of DOC between $O_3$-GAC and GAC increased with increasing operation time because the bioactivity in $O_3$-GAC process was enhanced by post-ozone process. Removal by conventional treatment was unable to reach the target TON(threshold odor number) of 3 but GAC systems at an EBCT(empty bed contact time) of 14 min were able to archive the target with few exception. During the high T&O episodes, PAC as a pretreatment together with GAC could be useful option for T&O control. However, substantial TON removal continued for more than two year (> 90,000 bed volumes). At the spiking of less concentration 26 to 61 ng/L in the influent of GAC systems, GAC absorber and $O_3$-GAC processes could meet the treatment target. The better spike control after 12 and 19 months of operation compared to that after 7 months of operation is a strong indication of biological control. The results presented in this study had shown that $O_3$-GAC process was found to be more effective for T&O control than GAC process. And the main removal mechanism in GAC systems were adsorption capacity and biodegradation.

Due to high imperviousness rates of the roads, various pollutants originated from vehicle activities and air depositions are accumulated on the road surfaces. The washed-off pollutants can deteriorate the water quality and destroy the aqua-ecosystems with their toxicity. Usually the roads are paved with asphalt and concrete, which can affect on the pollutant concentrations with different frictional forces. Therefore, this research is performed to evaluate the influences of different pavement type on discharged concentrations of pollutant. The results shows the first flush phenomenon was occurred on both pavement types. However, peak concentrations are higher in concrete pavement areas than asphalt pavement because concrete pavement has high contact area with vehicles. The EMCs(Event Mean Concentration) also shows high values in concrete paved roads. As a result of this research, it can be concluded the pavement type is also one of the important affecting factors on pollutant emissions from the roads.
