  • 사용자 인증에 관한 연구 중 지문인식에 대한 연구는 매우 진보적인 발전을 거듭해왔다. 지문인식 장치의 보급으로 지문영상을 입력받기 위한 센서의 소형화와 저가화가 요구되어짐에 따라 Area-Sensor를 대신하여 Line-Sensor에 대한 관심이 높아지고 있다. 하지만 잡음에 민감한 Line-Sensor의 특성과 비효율적인 스캔방법으로 인하여 양질의 지문영상을획득하기에 어려움이 있다. 기존의 지문인식 알고리즘의 지문영상개선 방법으로는 인식과정 중 오류를 일으키는 확률이 높아 Line-Sensor에서 획득한 지문영상의 개선에 관한 알고리즘을 제안한다.

A Learning Automata-based Algorithm for Area Coverage Problem in Directional Sensor Networks

  • Coverage problem is a research hot spot in directional sensor networks (DSNs). However, the major problem affecting the performance of the current coverage-enhancing strategies is that they just optimize the coverage of networks, but ignore the maximum number of sleep sensors to save more energy. Aiming to find an approximate optimal method that can cover maximum area with minimum number of active sensors, in this paper, a new scheduling algorithm based on learning automata is proposed to enhance area coverage, and shut off redundant sensors as many as possible. To evaluate the performance of the proposed algorithm, several experiments are conducted. Simulation results indicate that the proposed algorithm have effective performance in terms of coverage enhancement and sleeping sensors compared to the existing algorithms.

  • Advent of the brain wave health care system is considered as an important issues in the industrial and research area in these days. It is necessary to detect EEG signals in real-time in order to support the medical emergency service for the epileptic or brain infarct patients. Since the efficient network support is an essential factor for the system, several topologies using sensor node based wireless body area network is suggested and simulated in this paper. Finally the Opnet simulation result is evaluated for the efficient topology of the body area network.

  • Arc sensor gives important groove information during welding. Automatic seam tracking control system with arc sensor has significant characteristics such that bead formation is given as decentralization of penetration and formation of concave bead profile and that a turning point of transverse weaving with constant arc length control is decided whether or not torch height reaches to a specified setting level. Furthermore, the rotating action of the arc prevents hanging of weld bead and forms flat bead surface under high speed welding condition. The variation of groove and deposition area can be detected from the trace of weaving. The area and width of weaving trace has close correlation with the area of groove and deposition.   • Many intelligent robots have to be given environmental information to perform tasks. In this paper an intelligent robot, that is, a cleaning robot used a sensor fusing method of two sensors: LRF and StarGazer, and then was able to obtain the information. Throughout wall following using laser displacement sensor, LRF, the working area is built during the robot turn one cycle around the area. After the process of wall following, a path planning which is able to execute the work effectively is established using flow network algorithm. This paper describes an algorithm for minimal turning complete coverage path planning for intelligent robots. This algorithm divides the whole working area by cellular decomposition, and then provides the path planning among the cells employing flow networks. It also provides specific path planning inside each cell guaranteeing the minimal turning of the robots. The proposed algorithm is applied to two different working areas, and verified that it is an optimal path planning method.

  • In conventional direct torque control (DTC) using space-vector modulation (SVM) of induction machine (IM) drives, at least three current sensors are needed. In this paper, a low-cost SVM-DTC strategy is proposed, in which only a single current sensor is used. The position of the voltage space vector is divided into two areas: effective and non-effective area. If it is located in the non-effective area, the voltage space vector will be shifted into the effective area with minimum distortion. Further, the switching frequency remains constant. The simulation is carried out on a MATLAB/Simulink platform and the simulated results verify the effectiveness of the proposed strategy.

  • In this paper, we consider the sensor node system property for continuous mission implementation in dangerous area. In hazard area, a node cannot implement its mission anymore, next node should receive the mission. The next node arriving in dangerous area analyzes the property and function of previous node to prepare the possibility to continuous mission implementation.

  • Large-scale wireless sensor network are expected to play an increasingly important role for the data collection in harmful area. However, the physical fragility of sensor node makes reliable routing in harmful area a challenging problem. Since several sensor nodes in harmful area could be damaged all at once, the network should have the availability to recover routing from node failures in large area. Many routing protocols take accounts of failure recovery of single node but it is very hard these protocols to recover routing from large scale failures. In this paper, we propose a routing protocol, which we refer to as LSFA, to recover network fast from failures in large area. LSFA detects the failure by counting the packet loss from parent node and in case of failure detection LSFAdecreases the routing interval to notify the failure to the neighbor nodes. Our experimental results indicate clearly that LSFA could recover large area failures fast with less packets than previous protocols.

  • Nowaday, prohibition of smoking is getting more important issue. So we designed "non-smoking area control system". This system is organized with AVR(ATmega8535), smoke sensor, comparator(LM339) and etc. In non-smoking condition sensor's output voltage is about 5V, and in smoking condition sensor's output voltage is under 5V. So we used comparator(LM339) to devide two conditions. In both conditions AVR(ATmega8535) transmits datas to the computer of administrator. At this time method of communication is RS-232.

  • Quick, accurate damage monitoring is strongly required for damage assessment in the aftermath of a large natural disaster. Wireless sensor networks are promising technologies to acquire damage information in a citywide area. The wireless sensor networks, however, would be faced with difficulty to collect data in real-time and to expand the scalability of the networks. This paper discusses a scheme of network architecture to cove a whole city in multi-tier heterogeneous networks, which consist of wireless sensor networks, access networks and a backbone network. We first review previous studies for citywide damage monitoring, and then discuss the feature of multi-tier heterogeneous networks to cover a citywide area.
