  • To process the dynamic images in real time, there could be many constraints on the hardware. Kalman Filter has been used to estimate motion information and use the information in predicting the appearance of targets in succeeding frames. This paper suggests algorithm about lane recognition using Kalman Filter which is one of operations research technique.

  • 본 논문에서는 Saliency map과 Max Filter를 이용한 영상의 자막영역을 추출 한다. Saliency map은 눈에 띄는 영역, 즉 영상에서 주변영역에 비해 밝기 차이가 심한 영역과 윤곽선에 대한 특징이 강한 영역을 돌출하는 것을 말하며, MaxFilter는 중심 픽셀을 최대 윈도우 값을 사용하는 것으로 극단적인 Impulse Noise를 제거하는데 효과적이며 특히 어두운 스파이크를 제거하는데 유용하게 사용된다. 이 두 가지의 특징들을 이용하여 영상의 자막 영역을 추출한다.

  • A 7.0-inch transmissive type plastic TFT-LCD was developed at the resolution of 640 $\times$ 3 $\times$ 480 lines (114ppi). All of the processed of TFT, color filter and LC were carried out below $130^{\circ}C$ on PES plastic films. The process conditions of TFT, color filter and LC were optimized for large area TFT-LCD on plastic substrate. The backplane and the color filter was strongly adhered while the panel was bending by using holding spacers.

  • This paper presents our implemented, synthesized and tested on demand and partial reconfiguration approaches for FIR filters using Xilinx Virtex FPGAs. Our scope is implementation of a low-power, area-efficient autonomously reconfigurable digital signal processing architecture that is tailored for the realization of arbitrary response FIR filters on Xilinx Virtex4 FPGAs. The implementation of design addresses area efficiency and flexibility allowing dynamically inserting and/or removing the partial modules to implement the partial reconfigurable FIR filters with various taps. This partial reconfigurable FIR filter design shows the configuration time improvement, good area efficiency and flexibility by using the dynamic partial reconfiguration method.

  • This paper presents a CMOS multi-mode baseband filter architecture to support PDC/GSM/EDGE/WCDMA and its new automatic tuning method. 5-th order Chebyshev low pass filter is designed for implementing the baseband channel-select filter. Capacitors and resistors were shared efficiently between modes to minimize the area. And, the new cut-off frequency tuning method is proposed to compensate the process variation. This method can reduce the area and the noise level due to MOS switches.

  • Mammography is the most common technique for the early detection of breast cancer. To diagnose correctly and treat of breast cancer efficiently, many image enhancement methods have been developed. This paper presents a nonlinear image enhancement method for the enhancement of digital mammogram. The proposed method is composed of a nonlinear function for brightness improvement and a nonlinear filter for contrast enhancement. The nonlinear function improves the brightness of dark area and extends the dynamic range of bright area, and the nonlinear filter efficiently enhances the specific regions and objects of the mammogram. The final enhanced image was obtained by combining the processed image with the nonlinear function and the filtered image with the nonlinear filter. The proposed nonlinear image enhancement method was confirmed the enhanced performance comparing with other existing methods.

  • Stormwater runoff from urban road area as non-point source has a tendency of including lots of pollutants at initial rain period. Recently, there are several cases of having installed treatment facilities for reducing pollution discharge from the impervious cover in urban area to prevent watershed environment from getting worse. The filtration type among non-point source treatment systems has been known as one of the most efficient system for treatment of non-point source pollutants. Therefore, various kinds of filter media such as expanded polypropylene(EPP), granular activated carbon, zeolite, perlite, illite, sand, gravel has been developed. This study was conducted to verify performance and hydraulic characteristics of filter media as measures for non-point source. The experiment was carried out to evaluate applicability and variation of 4 kind of most popular filter media(EPP, GAC, Zeolite, Perlite) in headloss with elapsed time and influent flow rate and to obtain data base that could be used to establish management plan for road runoff treatment. In experiment by tap water, it showed that EPP and perlite those are floatable materials showed stable operating performance and lower headloss than the others.

  • In this paper, a current-mode analog variable finite-impulse-response (FIR) filter with variable tap coefficient circuits is proposed for frequency selective wireless personal area network(WPAN) system or terminals. From the circuit simulation the operation of the 7-tap FIR filter is confirmed. The 0.0625-step tap coefficient circuit is designed and fabricated with $0.8[{\mu}m]$ CMOS technology. The proposed FIR filter has a variable length of taps and variable coefficients, so it has a potential for being used to frequency selective WPAN system or frequency selective wireless communication terminals.

  • Diesel PM can be controlled using Diesel Particulate Filter, which can effectively reduce the level of soot emissions to ambient background levels. In the Heavy Duty Diesel area, the Continuously Regeneration trap has been widely applied in the retrofit market. As the Special act for the improvement of air quality in the capital area, the retrofit program for DPF to used diesel vehicle has progressed favorably and there are currently over 1,000 of these DPF in use in retrofit applications in korea. These DPF comprise a specially formulated Diesel Oxidation Catalyst upstream of a DPF. The $NO_2$ generated by the DOC is used to combust the carbon collected in the DPF at low temperature. To certificate DPF device that is suitable to domestic circumstances, it is necessary to evaluate exactly the DPF devices according to the regulation of DPF certificate test procedure for retrofit(ministry of environment(MOE) announcement NO. 2005-16). To do so the understand of that regulation like the standard of PM reduction rate is needed. In this study the test procedure including test cycle and BPT test condition was examined and also the test result for specific DPF was analyzed. In every test like field test, PM reduction efficiency test and seoul-10 mode test, no defect could be showed.

  • In this paper, genetic algorithm (GA)-based Thin Film Bulk Acoustic Resonator (FBAR) RF filter design technique is proposed. Since the BVD(Butterworth-Van Dyke) lumped element model is valid only around the resonance, FBAR filter design technique based on BVD circuit has an approximate error. Instead of using BVD model, optimizing filter design method utilizes an analytical electrical impedance equation of FBAR. The geometry of FBAR such as thickness of the piezoelectric layer and area which significantly affect the filter response is optimized by GA. US-PCS Rx Bandpass filter obtained by the proposed technique shows a better response comparing with the typical and BVD-based filter.
