전산유체역학을 이용한 디젤엔진 부하시험장의 환기 개선에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Ventilation Improvement of Diesel Locomotive Engine Load Test Building using Computational Fluid Dynamics)

  • The aim of this study is to relieve the poor ventilation problem of the diesel locomotive engine load test building, located in an urban area. This paper evaluates the ventilation performances of the studied load test building based on the temperature measurement experiment and the computational fluid dynamics (CFD) during the engine load test. The temperature rise caused by the radiator blower of the building was turned out to be the main cause of disturbing the thermal conditions of the building. The indoor temperature distributions simulated by Fluent were validated with the temperature measurement results obtained from the studied building. The simulation results indicated that the comfort condition of this building was poor We suggested several remedial changes in the duct structure of this building for the improvement of the comfort conditions. In addition, a prototype drawing combining several improved design options was proposed. and then the simulation of the temperature distribution in the proposed prototype was performed. The result indicated that the indoor thermal condition of this proposed building was improved when compared with that of the current building.

자동차 전면유리의 제상시스템 설계를 위한 3차원 비정상 수치해석 (3D Unsteady Numerical Analysis to Design Defrosting System of Automotive Windshield Glass)

  • The present research is based upon the numerical analysis of a car windshield in order to represent the optimum design guide to improve the overall defrosting performance of the system. First, the control factors that highly affect the defrosting performance of a car windshield are chosen and afterwards, the optimum variables of each control factor are extracted out to analyze its performance. The main control factors for this research are respectively, the air injection angle of a defroster nozzle, the height of a nozzle outlet, and the ratio of the width to the height of a nozzle outlet. For such case when the air inlet angle is relatively small, the flow near the vicinity of the inner face of a windshield tends to expand. As a consequence, the heat transfer rate through the windshield decreases. Also, the height of a nozzle outlet is recommended to maintain its size to minimum. However, when the ratio mentioned before is designed less than unity, the defrosting performance decreases.

  • 손동작 식별 룰을 통한 컴퓨터의 프레젠테이션 제어 시스템을 제안한다. 발표자의 손 동작 식별을 위해 (일반적인 웹캠을 사용하여) 이미지를 입력받아 하르 분류기를 이용하여 사용자의 얼굴영역을 추출한다. YCbCr 컬러모델을 이용하여 손 영역을 추출한 후에 사용자의 얼굴과 손의 무게중심을 이용하여 손의 현재 움직임 상태와 위치를 판별 하였다. 사용자의 손이 모션 감지 룰에 적용되어 프레젠테이션 제어 명령이 실행된다. 제안하는 시스템은 모션 식별 룰을 이용하여 부가적인 기기를 사용하지 않고 배경의 복잡도에 독립적인 프레젠테이션을 제어가 가능한 시스템이다. 실험은 어두운 실내 분위기인 조도범위(lx) 15-20-30에서 프레젠테이션 실험을 통해 안정적인 제어동작을 확인하였다.

The Immediate Effects of Neck and Trunk Stabilization Exercises on Balance and Gait in Chronic Stroke Patients

  • PURPOSE: The purpose of this study was to identify the effects of neck stabilization exercise combined with trunk stabilization exercise on balance and gait function in patients with chronic stroke. METHODS: Twenty-two chronic stroke patients were included in this study. The experimental group subjects (n = 11) performed neck stabilization (15 min) and trunk stabilization (15 min) exercises, while the control group subjects (n = 11) performed trunk stabilization exercise only for 30 min. Before and after the intervention, the subjects underwent static balance and gait testing. RESULTS: The 95% confidence ellipse area, center of pressure (COP) path length, and COP average velocity were significantly lower in both groups after the intervention compared to before intervention (p < .05). The average stance force on the affected side increased significantly in both groups after the intervention (p < .05). The changes in the static balance variables were larger in the experimental group than in the control group. The cadence, gait velocity, and single leg support increased significantly in both groups after intervention (p < .05). The changes in the gait variables were larger in the experimental group than in the control group. CONCLUSION: Trunk stabilization is a beneficial intervention, but the combination of neck stabilization with trunk stabilization is a more effective method to increase the gait and static balance in chronic stroke patients.

Implementation of Excitatory CMOS Neuron Oscillator for Robot Motion Control Unit

  • This paper presents an excitatory CMOS neuron oscillator circuit design, which can synchronize two neuron-bursting patterns. The excitatory CMOS neuron oscillator is composed of CMOS neurons and CMOS excitatory synapses. And the neurons and synapses are connected into a close loop. The CMOS neuron is based on the Hindmarsh-Rose (HR) neuron model and excitatory synapse is based on the chemical synapse model. In order to fabricate using a 0.18 um CMOS standard process technology with 1.8V compatible transistors, both time and amplitude scaling of HR neuron model is adopted. This full-chip integration minimizes the power consumption and circuit size, which is ideal for motion control unit of the proposed bio-mimetic micro-robot. The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed excitatory CMOS neuron oscillator performs the expected waveforms with scaled time and amplitude. The active silicon area of the fabricated chip is $1.1mm^2$ including I/O pads.

  • In this paper, we propose an alternative method of communication to improve the reliability of in-vehicle networks by jointly using wireless communication networks. Wired Communication networks have been used in vehicles for the monitoring and the control of vehicle motion, however, the disconnection of wires or hardware fault of networks may cause a critical problem in vehicles. If the network manager detects a disconnection or faults in wired in-vehicle network like the Controller Area Network(CAN), it can redirect the communication path from the wired to the wireless communication like the Zigbee network. To show the validity and the effectiveness of the proposed in-vehicle network architecture, we implement the Electronic Stability Control(ESC) system as ECU-In-the-Loop Simulation(EILS) and verify that the control performance can be kept well even if some hardware faults like disconnection of wires occur.

Effects of Walking Training according to Rhythmic Auditory Stimulation Speed Control Balance of Stroke Patients

  • Purpose: In this study, based on the error augmentation, we performed walking training with increased rhythmic auditory stimulation speed on the affected side (IRAS) and walking training with decreased rhythmic auditory stimulation speed on the unaffected side (DRAS). The purpose of this study was to verify whether motor learning was effective in improving balance ability. Methods: Twenty-eight subjects with chronic stroke were recruited from a rehabilitation center. The subjects were divided into three groups: an IRAS group (10 subjects), a DRAS group (9 subjects), and control group (9 subjects). They received 30minutes of neuro-developmental therapy and walking training for 30minutes, five times a week for three weeks. Static and functional balance ability were measured before and after the training period. Static balance was measured by balancia software. Functional balance was measured by the timed up and go test (TUG) and the berg balance scale (BBS). Results: After the training periods, the IRAS group showed a significant improvement in TUG, BBS, area 95% COP, and weight distribution on the affected side when compared to both the DRAS group and control group (p<0.05). Conclusion: Based on the results of this study, it is possible to consider error augmentation methods of motor learning if rhythmic auditory stimulation is applied to stroke patients in clinical practice. If the affected side is shorter than the unaffected side, the affected side should be adjusted to the increased rhythmic auditory stimulation speed, which is considered to be an effective intervention to improve balance ability.

군산 연안 해역 항행 위해 요소 분석 (1) (Analysis on the navigation risk factors in Gunsan coastal area (1))

  • The Coastal VTS will be continuously constructed to prevent marine traffic accidents in the coastal waters of the Republic of Korea. In order to provide the best traffic information service to the ship operator, it is important to understand the navigation risk factor. In this study, we analyzed the navigational hazards of Gunsan coastal area where the coastal VTS will be constructed until 2020. For this purpose, major traffic flows of merchant ships and density of vessels engaged in fishing were analyzed. This study was conducted by Automatic Identification System (AIS) and Vessel Pass (V-PASS) data. The grid intervals are 10 minute ${\times}$ 10 minute (latitude ${\times}$ longitude) based on the section of the sea. A total of 30 sections were analyzed by constructing a grid. As a result of the analysis, the major traffic flows of the merchant vessels in the coastal area of Gunsan were surveyed from north to south toward Incheon, Pyeongtaek, Daesan, Yeosu, Pusan and Ulsan, and from east to west in the port of Gunsan Port, 173-3, 173-6, 173-8, 183-2, 183-5, 183-8, 183-3, 184-1 and 184-2. As a result of the study, the fishing boats in Gunsan coastal area mainly operated in spring and autumn. On the other hand, the main traffic flow of merchant ships and the distribution of fishing vessels continue to overlap from March to June, so special attention should be paid to the control during this period.

부산 중앙부두 주변해역의 교통흐름 및 통항특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Traffic Stream and Navigational Characteristics at the Adjacent Sea Area of Busan Central Wharf)

  • 부산항 중앙부두 주변 해역은 각 선석별로 그 목적과 용도에 부합된 전용 부두가 배치되어 소형 잡종선을 비롯해서 중대형 여객선, 소형 쾌속선, 컨테이너선, 화물선, 작업선 등 다양한 선박이 특정한 항행 규칙이나 해상교통관계없이 비교적 자유롭게 통항하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 중앙부두 주변 해상을 대상으로 일정 기간 동안 두 차례의 해상교통조사를 전용소프트웨어를 이용하여 실시한 후 중앙부두 주변 해역을 통항하는 선박들에 대한 선종별, 톤수별 통계처리와 항적분포를 기초로 중앙부두 인근 해상의 주요 통항로의 교통 흐름, 그리고 통항 특징 등을 분석하였다. 이러한 교통 현황에 대한 분석을 토대로 중앙부두 주변 해상을 각 기능별로 분류하고, 북내항로 지정에 따른 효과를 분석하여 항행 선박의 통항 안전성 향상 방안을 검토하였다. 그리고 선박의 운항자 관점에서 입출항 통항 안전성에 바탕을 둔 효율적인 중앙부두 인근 부두의 재배치 안에 대하여 고찰하였다.

환경관리해역의 이용개발현황과 수질변화경향 및 영향평가 개선방안 (Diagnosis of Development Projects and Water Quality Changes in the Environmental Management Sea Areas and Improvement of Impact Assessment)

  • 최근 3년간 검토된 환경관리해역에서 이루어진 해역이용협의 건수는 총 60건으로 조사되었다. 환경보전해역에서는 지속적으로 감소하였고, 특별관리해역에서는 증가하는 양상을 나타내었다. 환경관리해역의 개별사업유형을 분석한 결과 인공구조물 설치사업이 가장 높은 비율을 차지하였고, 그 외 항만 어항개발, 연안정비 및 해수 인 배수사업유형이 많이 이루어졌다. 환경관리해역에서 국가해양환경정보통합시스템(MEIS) 자료를 활용하여 2006~2017년까지 경년별 수질변화경향을 비교한 결과, COD는 뚜렷한 증감의 변화는 보이지 않았으나 환경보전지역은 다소 증가하였으며, TN과 TP의 농도는 다소 감소하는 경향을 보였다. 특별관리해역인 광양만과 마산만 및 환경보전해역인 가막만에서는 주로 하계에 빈산소수괴가 출현하였다. 이러한 환경관리해역에서의 이용 개발행위가 지속적으로 이루어지고 있으므로, 이에 따른 해양환경부문 환경영향평가(해역이용협의)시에는 충분한 수질변화에 대한 실태분석 및 사업추진에 따른 수질영향과 퇴적물의 오염상태를 철저히 진단해서 오염원관리에 대한 대책이 중점적으로 평가되어야 할 것으로 판단된다. 특히, 각 환경관리해역의 지정 목적에 따른 유지 수질목표를 명확히 설정하여, 오염원 및 연안오염총량관리와 연계하여 오염 부하량 저감대책을 제시하여야 할 것이다.
