  • This study aims to investigate how to apply the theory of constructivism to CADD education. To maximize educational effect in the educational process, evaluation, media, interactions between instructor and learners, existing CADD education has some limitations and needs new methodology. Constructivism can be said to be a learner-oriented theory in that it emphasizes on the process of understanding in each individual. It can contribute in educational practice to elicit each learner's motivation and to develope their creativity. This paper tried to investigate how to apply constructivism to architectural designing and find the most suitable CAAD education methodology related to design studio.

It's necessary to take the educational efficiency for the practical training in the course of intoner architecture. The characteristic of interior space in the model for useful practice is residential space. the interior construction to be controled generally on the central axis of interior architecture, although there were several items of construction which divided architectural structure, electrical power, air control est. the process of practical training is to be established not only with object of training, grade of skill, materials and equipments and tools of it's prepare and working, but safety on the job training.

  • Since the time of Vitruvius, the sciences have impacted on the perspectives for architecture and have had a direct influence on the shaping of built space. In recent years, architects have been looking again at sciences as a source of inspiration in the production of their designs and constructions. There are various ways to look at architecture's relationship to science. It is interesting to see how many of the words of day-to-day architectural speech have been drawn from science, the abundant use of references such as topology, fractals, chaos theory, and so on. The reasons for this may be obvious, insofar as science has become the dominant discourse of our times. The numerous attempts have been made to constitute architectural practice so as to bring it into line with the methods of science. But Alberto Perez-Gomez juxtaposed architectural theory and Husserl's. The Crisis of European Science. In Husserl's 'Crisis', it is modern science itself that is laid open question. Through examining its changing relationships to architectural ideas this paper is intended to describe the problematic relationship between science and architecture, in other words, architecture's as science.

  • The equivalent frame method (EFM) is widely used for the design of two-way reinforced concrete slab structures, and current design codes of practice permit the application of the EFM in analyzing the flat plate slab structures under gravity and lateral loads. The EFM was, however, originally developed for the flat plate structures subjected to gravity load, which is not suitable for lateral loading case. Therefore, this study, the first part of series research paper, proposed the structural analysis method for the flat plate slab structures under the combined gravity and lateral loads, which is named as the unified equivalent frame method (UEFM). In the proposed method, some portion of rotation induced in the torsional member is distributed to the flexibility of the equivalent columns, and the remaining portion is contributed to that of the equivalent slabs. In the consecutive companion paper, the proposed UEFM is verified by comparing with test results of multi-span flat plate structures. Also, a simplified nonlinear push-over analysis method is proposed, and verified by comparing to test results.

  • In contemporary design conditions, the focus of landscape architecture has shifted from 'form' to 'process.' Various experimental diagrams have been proposed to overcome the limitations of conventional form-oriented landscape design. This study aims to reconsider theoretically and critically the modes and mechanism of diagrams in recent landscape architectural design. It also explores the operational capabilities of diagram in design process. Although the traditional diagram has served as explanatory and representational graphics in design, contemporary designers emphasize the generative function of diagram on the basis of Gilles Deleuze's theory of 'diagram as abstract machine.' They manifest and practise that diagrams call generate forms and proliferate spaces in their design development. This paper examines current examples of generative and constructive diagrams produced by leading designers. However, the author illuminates another significance of diagram: the diagram as strategic media of design. Contemporary environments and conditions of design, such as the complexity of city and the interactivity of new economy, call for new design intelligence and strategic design. These situations require alternative media in design process. In this context, the diagram can function as strategic media of dynamic and flexible design. This is why contemporary landscape theory and practice have to give attention to diagrams.

  • This study began from the idea that new materials and awareness in the modern society demand new methods in architecture and focused on diagrams as the tool many modern architects use in their process of architectural design. Therefore, the purpose is re-finding the potential of diagrams as profilerating architectural design media by examining mentions of architects about diagrams, investigating diagrams used in design process and treating comments referring to diagrams, by redefining the meaning of the contemporary architecture and of diagrams in architecture, and by grasping the various methods of use and its process. The design process using diagrams produces synthetic or reasonable process dissimilar to previous processes. Where diagrams are mainly used as tools to relate the segregated parts compressively. On the other hand reasonable process concerns reasonable design advancement to satisfy various requirements or conditions in reality, where diagrams are used as tools offering its phase in the whole structure of various information and relating steps of design each other. Dealing synthetically in the various steps of design process with the various properties originally obtained, proposing a new type of architecture by increasing thoughts and leaving the design process open-fluid, offering process and results having the same value as design process, and satisfying requirements in reality most reasonably, diagrams working in the above-mentioned design process have the potential to narrow the schism among theory, practice and criticism in contemporary architecture.

  • An architectural practice cannot help involving a social art as its own concept. Especially school buildings are subjected to the influence of not only the educational philosophy and the national curriculum, but also the sociocultural context with the change of the times. This study aims to explore the contemporary trends of school architecture and give new inspiration to the school design practice. After it establishes the 'contemporary' school architecture as school buildings built from the second half of the 1980's to the present time, this paper classifies them into 4 categories : popularist trend, traditional and regional tendency, revival of classicism and the pursuit of art for art's sake.

  • As for the green space construction of the modern parks, landscape design is not only for the aesthetics but its also to promote the spiritual connotation. The appearing of the exemplary type of ecological landscape reflects landscape architects have developed realization and wishes to improve the deteriorating environment and put them into practice. This paper introduces the basic intension of the exemplary type of ecological landscape, and discusses the relative background and ecological aesthetic foundation of the exemplary ecological landscape which appeared under the crisis of urban environment; lists the modern landscape designers practices of the exemplary ecological landscape; studies the developing trend of this practice which becomes multifold along with the reformation of city.

  • Ceremony is important to Buddhism as a part of the religious practice. Buddhist ceremony is a kind of discipline and it rules the Chan monastery life. This discipline, called $\ulcorner$Qinggui(淸規)$\lrcorner$ also forms a part of the practice for enlightenment in the Chan monastery(禪宗). Qinggui is derived from $\ulcorner$Baizhang's monastic code(百丈淸規)$\lrcorner$ which no longer exists. $\ulcorner$Chanyuan qinggui(禪院淸規)$\lrcorner$ is considered the oldest surviving Chinese monastic discipline. Its success is partly due to the emphasis in the Chan monastery on the succession of monks to abbot hood. Qinggui has been called the only discipline in Buddhist monastic life in religion. Whether it is also the discipline of the architectural space of the Chan temples is the focus of this thesis. The examination of this assumption may expand the meaning of Qinggui as embodying not only the religious form of discipline but also a fundamental part of the architectural archive. The majority of the buildings in the Chan monastery in Qinggui are related to $\ulcorner$Five Mountains Ten Checks figures$\lrcorner$. Most of all, it can be clarified that the elements of Qinggui are expressed through the analysis of the activities in each building. This proves that Qinggui has become a stipulation not only for the regulation of the monastery life but also the architectural code of the Chan temples. In conclusion, this study shows how the meaning of ceremony and monastery life in $\ulcorner$Chanyuan qinggui$\lrcorner$ can be expanded to include the design program of temples. The research proves that there is a basic code in the Chan temples for designing the structure of the monastery space. Similarly, $\ulcorner$Five Mountains Ten Checks Figures$\lrcorner$ was a diagram for examination and analysis as well as a tool for creating drawings of the temples in the Song era.
