디지털 미디어를 이용한 종합병원 디자인에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Design by using Digital Media of the General Hospital)

  • The purpose of this study is to suggest the design by using digital media the general hospital. The important result and advantage of the study are as follows; At first, applicability and maintenance of form and function design are enhanced and the digital media could be used for development of better and economical design. Secondly, the 3D CAD system useful for communication media and instructional tool for hospital planners and designers. Thirdly, fast and economical evaluation are obtained through the study of experimental simulation. Finally as a new tool in architectural field, the system helps to enhance the relationship between digital media and human. New concept and tools of hospital design are being developed in terms of its function, environment, and psychology. The computational design system should be improved for user friendly in the future.

A House Design Automation System Based on the "Design-by-Novice" Paradigm

  • This research investigates a system for house design automation. The system is based on an object-oriented building data model, aiming to support the house design process conducted by non-expert users. Its object model, with simple yet powerful user interfaces, enables a CAD system to handle a complicated building system with much ease. Hence, the model dramatically simplifies the design process beyond just the automatic document generation. In this paper, we discuss the aspects of the building data model, introduce critical concepts such as grid objects and structured floor plan, and present a prototype system called GPLAN. The system is implemented in the framework of our building data model, and it provides a host of intelligent features that have been proved useful for house design automation.

  • This Paper presents a development of a CAD system for interactive design of steel frames. The adopted building code for structural design is "Steel Building Codes" enacted by the Architectural Institute of Korea in 1973. The selected member sections, therefore, are domestic rolled sections - especially, H shapes. The authors aim at a development of an integrated computer programs repeating plane frame analysis and design of members until minimum weight design condition is satisfied. This program also provides various section change functions to improve the shortcomings of automatic design.ic design.

장애물 없는 생활환경(BF)인증 항목의 BIM기반 효율성 검토 (BIM-based Efficiency Review of Barrier Free Certification Items)

  • 본 연구는 BF인증 평가방식의 BIM기반 검토 효율성 제고를 위한 기초연구로서 BIM 전문가를 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였다. 건축물의 용도를 초등학교로 제한하여 BF인증 평가항목의 의무시설을 평가기준에 맞게 도출하는 것으로 예비조사를 실시하여 총 94개의 평가항목 중 63개 항목이 도출되었다. 도출된 시설은 매개시설, 내부시설, 위생시설이었으며 1차 조사는 BF인증 평가항목의 세부산출기준을 제공하고 BIM기반의 검토 가능성을 조사한 결과 31개의 항목이 도출되었다. 마지막 2차 조사에서 현행 CAD기반의 평가방식과 BIM기반의 평가방식의 효율성 정도를 물어 도출된 평가항목 중 96.8%가 BIM기반의 평가방식이 더 효율적임을 나타내었고, CAD기반의 평가방식은 단 1개의 평가항목인 3.2%를 나타내었다.

Revisiting the Vāstupuruṣamaṇḍala in Hindu Temples, and Its Meanings

  • The objective of this article, positively recognizing existing researches, is to revisit some aspects regarding the Vāstupuruṣamaṇḍala with a square grid work which is a fundamental planning guideline to control the construction of a Hindu temple and a mathematical doctrine to lead ritual programs. Hence, this paper suggests some reservations as to certain details such as temple constructions. In order to lay hold on its meaning, this paper touches upon the specific matters about the Vāstupuruṣamaṇḍala in the building construction of Hindu temples, which set out to shed light on four concerns; first, it explores the formation process of the Vāstupuruṣamaṇḍala in concert with the evolution of Hindu temples over time; second, it considers differences and similarities in comparison with other texts intimately articulated with the construction of temples, and then understands the relationship between their local languages and applications to the Vāstupuruṣamaṇḍala; third, it examines the symbolic and sanctified process of the temple's construction on the Vāstupuruṣamaṇḍala grids with two- or three-dimensional computer graphics (by means of the Auto Cad and Rhino tools), invisibly situating the divinities within it and illuminating the roles of ornamentation in the structural terms of temples; fourth, it presents that there are another rules on the building construction based upon architect-priest's craftsmanship skilled as a stonemason or a carpenter in the manual processes of the temples' construction for proper measurements and truncations of stone and wood closely linked together structural stability of completed temples. In conclusion, proceeding from what has been said above, this thesis shows that the Vāstupuruṣamaṇḍala grid includes both practical and spiritual meanings to construct a Hindu temple.

BIM IMPLEMENTATION STRATEGY AND TASKS FOR ARCHITECTURAL INDUSTRY IN KOREA

  • Even though attempts are made to transform from 2D CAD to BIM representation for building design and construction, it were not so successful for practical implementation until recently in construction industry in Korea. However, there is a dramatic change for the use of BIM by collaboration among government, independent organizations as well as industry itself. Government reckons that BIM is an important tool for environment friendly construction and industry competitiveness. The government not only makes national BIM standards and push policies in order to make market environment. Independent organizations such as BuildingSMART Korea does active role to stimulate the transformation process successfully. They act as opinion leaders for the Government to consider BIM implementation for industry competitiveness issue. They make roadmap as well as technical standards and guidelines. It also leads technical developments and supports for its implementation. Government supports researches for the implementation of BIM. The research includes BIM standards, guidelines, linking with existing Architectural Administrative Information Systems, making libraries as well as education. Government makes policy for BIM as a compulsory data for bidding process of newly designed government buildings. Private sector not only agrees BIM as a tool to adapt but also essential methods for its survival in domestic and foreign construction market. Architectural design companies and constructions companies currently develop technical skills and implement BIM for new projects such as Dongdaemoon Plaza that cannot be successfully drawn by conventional methods.

한옥 건축공정 자동화를 위한 지능형 설계모듈의 구현 (Intelligent Architectural Design Module for Process Automation of Hanok Constructions)

  • 한옥은 단순히 전통건축의 의미를 넘어서 우리 선조들의 삶에 대한 양식과 인식을 담고 있는 지금도 살아 숨 쉬는 문화유산이다. 최근 한옥이 자연친화적 건축으로 주목을 받게 되면서 한옥의 전통적 방식을 훼손하지 않으면서도 건축과정에 효율을 꾀할 수 있는 방안이 모색될 필요가 대두되었다. 이에, 본 논문에서는 건축정보모델링을 기반으로 하는 설계 지원도구를 개발하여 한옥의 설계에서 검증, 생산 공정에 이르는 전 과정을 지원하는 것을 목표로 한다. 이를 위해 먼저, 전통건축의 통시대적 고찰과 한옥의 목구조 방식에 대한 체계적인 분석을 통해 전통건축 설계에 필요한 부재들에 대한 효율적 설계 방식을 제시한다. 논문에서 제안하는 방식은 특성이 비슷한 부재들을 모아서 하나의 템플릿으로 설계하고 다양한 형태의 유사부재들을 속성 값에 따라 자유롭게 생성할 수 있도록 객체지향 방식의 표현기법을 사용하는 것이다. 이 방식은 객체지향 방식의 부재를 표현함에 있어서 연결 부재간의 상관관계를 부재와 부재간의 관련 파라미터들 사이의 결합규칙을 적용함으로써 설계의 오류를 최소화 하도록 지원할 수 있다. 또한 개발된 시스템은 서양건축 설계 위주의 CAD프로그램에 플러그 인 형태로 수행할 수 있기 때문에 전통적인 방식의 한옥설계는 물론 한옥 건축문화를 현대적 생활공간에 쉽게 접목할 있도록 고안되었다.

  • 기존의 소방대상시설물 도면은 이미지도면이나 CAD도면 형태의 2차원 도면형태로 존재하고 있다. 구축되어 있는 데이터의 형태도 다양한 방식으로 이루어져 있기 때문에 소방방재업무에서 필요로 하는 신속 정확한 대응체계를 위해서는 기존의 2차원 도면형태로 구축된 도면을 3차원으로 변환할 필요가 있다. 본 연구에서는 소방방재 대상이 되는 2차원 건축도면을 3차원 공간정보로 손쉽게 구축하기 위하여 건축도면에 대한 분석과 3차원 공간정보 데이터모델을 설계하고 이를 3차원 공간정보로 변환할 수 있는 툴을 개발하였다. 본 논문에서 제안한 소방대상 2차원 도면의 3차원 변환방법을 통하여 다량의 2차원 도면을 3차원 공간정보로 쉽게 변환할 수 있으며 이를 통해 소방방재 업무의 활용도를 향상 시킬 수 있다.

  • 건설현장의 불안전하거나 위험한 요소는 안전사고를 유발한다. 안전한 작업환경을 유지하기 위해 위험요소에 대한 경고나 주의 표지를 설치하고 있지만 사소한 부주의 등으로 때때로 사고가 발생한다. 현장에 적재된 자재나 작업을 위해 임시 설치된 가설시설물에 의해서 경고나 주의 표지가 가려지는 경우도 있으며, 작업자가 이동함에 따라 가려진 표지를 파악할 수 없는 위험도 존재한다. 안전사고를 방지하기 위해 GPS나 센서를 이용하여 작업자의 위치추적방법이 연구되고 있지만 본 연구에서는 작업자의 시야를 방해하는 요소를 제거하는 것에 초점을 두고 있다. 본 연구는 적재된 자재로 인해 작업자가 위험요소를 볼 수 없는 문제가 발생할 수 있음을 확인하고, CAD를 이용하여 이를 공사계획과정에서 작업자의 시선에서 관리하는 방법을 제시한다.

Method to Use the Augmented Reality for Construction Planning and Management

  • An architect creates his/her design to meet owner's requirements. Floor plans, perspective drawings, and scale models are used in order for the owner to choose the design. The tools are a little helpful for communication between the architect and the owner in case the owner does not know architecture. The scale models are good, but it is hard to make scale models while design is in progress. 3D CAD is a good tool for communication, but it is time-consuming and requires high-performance computer hardware. Augmented reality is able to show 3D virtual models that are updated by the architect with smart devices such as a smart phone and a tablet PC. The owner frequently reviews the updated design anytime anywhere. This study proposes a method to use augmented reality for architectural design and construction management. The method supports the communication between the owner, the architect and the contractor to review updated designs, and to complete the building project. 3D models expressed in augmented reality are created using SketchUp with 2D drawings for building construction. An Android application implementing augmented reality is developed by Qualcomm Vuforia and Unity on smart devices. Drawings as markers and 3D models are connected in Unity. And functions that temporarily hide unnecessary parts can be implemented in C# programming language. If an owner, an architect, or a contractor looks at a smart phone on a 2D drawing, he/she can identify building elements such as 3D buildings or columns on a screen. This can help communication between them.
