Quantum dots (QDs) are attracting growing attention for photovoltaic device applications because of their unique electronic, optical and physical properties. Lead sulfide (PbS) QDs are one of the most widely studied materials for the devices and known to have size-tunable properties. In this context, we investigated the relationship between the size of PbS QDs and two synthesizing conditions, a concentration of ligand, oleic acid in this work, and injection temperature. The inverted colloidal quantum dot solar cells based on the heterojunction of n-type zinc oxide layer and p-type PbS QDs were also fabricated. The size of the QDs and cell properties were observed to depend on both the QD synthesizing conditions, and hence the overall efficiency of the cell could vary even though the size of QDs used was same. The QD synthesizing conditions were finally optimized for the maximum cell efficiency.

Two-phase flow through a T-junction has been studied by numerous researchers so far. The dividing characteristics of the gas and liquid phases at the T-junction are very complicated due to a lot of related variables. The prediction models have been suggested by using experimental data for a specific condition or working fluid. But, they showed the application limitation for the most of the other conditions or fluids. Since most of them are applicable for their own experimental range, the generalized model for the wide range of conditions and fluids is needed. Even though it's not available now, some of the models developed for air-water flow at a T-junction might be applicable for the part of refrigerants with some modifications. Especially, for the two-phase flow of refrigerants at the T-junction, very few studies have been performed. Further experimental study is required to be performed for the wide range of test conditions and fluids to predict properly the two-phase flow distribution and phase separation through the T-junction.
Many researches on pressure-swirl injectors due to the variety of application have been conducted on the effects of nozzle design, operating conditions, properties of liquid and ambient conditions on the flow and spray characteristics. The breakup length of conical emulsified fuel sheet resulting from pressure-swirl atomizer using in the oil burner was investigated with the digital image processing method with neat light oil and emulsion with water content of lotto% and the surfactant content of 1-3%. The injection pressure ranged from 0.1 to 1.2 MPa was selected. The various regimes for the stage of spray development within the experimental conditions selected in this study is newly suggested in terms of Ohnesorge number and injection pressure. The breakup length for both criteria show the same tendency even though the random nature of perforation and disintegration process of liquid sheet. The stage of spray development is widely different with the physical properties of liquid atomized, mainly viscosity of liquid. The breakup length decreases smoothly with increase in the injection pressure for the lower viscous liquid.
In this study, an innovative semi-solid die casting technology to replace heavier cast iron compressor parts with lightweight aluminum castings was proposed, and the application possibility for home-appliance component was investigated. The most important factors regarding the semi-solid die casting process are the reheating process of the raw materials to the semi-solid state, specifications of the forming machine, the optimal injection conditions and die design. Materials used in this study were A3S7 and hSn alloys fabricated by the electromagnetic stirring process. The optimal injection conditions for semi-solid die casting process were Presented with the reheating conditions of the semi-solid materials. To investigate the effect of plunger tip shape on the formability and mechanical properties in semi-solid die casting process for complicated shape part, two kinds of plunger tip shape with long and short plunger tip taper are proposed.
This paper presents a classical speed controller (CSC) for vector controlled induction motors. The controller explores the use of a Fuzzy Logic controller in a classical form. The controller combines the advantages of the classical controller and the properties of intelligent controllers. The Fuzzy Logic controller idea is used to obtain the CSC output equation, whereby the CSC equation is based on the speed error and its change. The CSC parameters are calculated based on the motor mechanical equation and a predefined system performance. Once the CSC parameters are obtained, the defined speed performance can be achieved at all operating conditions. The application of the CSC to control the speed of a vector controlled induction motor is presented. Different induction motor ratings are used. Simulation results in all possible olperating conditions are presented. Results show that the CSC behaves as an expert controller to provide the predefined speed performance in all possible operating conditions. Based on the results obtained in this paper, the CSC is expected to become the ultimate solution for high-performance drives of the next generation.

We consider the problem y"=a(x,y)(y-b), y(0)=0, y'(1)=g(y(${\xi}$), y'(${\xi}$)), (0${\xi}$ fixed in(0,1)) as a model of steady-slate heat conduction in a rod when the heat flux at the end x = 1 is determined by observation of the temperature and heat flux at some interior point ${\xi}$. We establish conditions sufficient for existence, uniqueness.

We have studied the variable conditions of reactive sputtering to prepare AM thin film. The leakage current showed below $10^{-9}A/cm^2$ at the deposition temperature of $250^{\circ}C\;and\;300^{\circ}C$ in the field of 0.1 MV/cm, and it was gradually increased and to be saturated in 0.2 MV/cm. The C-V characteristics of the above mentioned deposition temperature conditions showed a deep depletion phenomenon at inversion region. The C-V characteristics showed similarly under the DC power conditions of 100 and 150 W but were degraded at 200W. When the DC power was 100, 200, and 300 W the dielectric breakdown phenomenon was shown in 2.8, 3.2 and 5.2 MV/cm, respectively. It was found that AIN film was dominated by Poole-Frenkel conduction mechanism.

This paper presents a distribution simulation model for dual purpose improved conventional munitions based on flight test data. A systematic procedure for designing a dispersion simulation model is proposed. A new accumulated broken line graph was suggested for designing the distribution shape. In the process of verification and simulation for the distribution simulation model, verification was performed by first comparing data with firing test results, and an application simulation was then conducted. The Monte Carlo method was used in the simulations, which reflected the relationship between ejection conditions and real distribution data. Before establishing the simulation algorithm, the dominant ejection parameter of the submunitions was examined. The relationships between ejection conditions and distribution results were investigated. Five key distribution parameters were analyzed with respect to the ejection conditions. They reflect the characteristics of clustered particle dynamics and aerodynamics.
This paper is concerned with the determination of exact buckling loads and vibration frequencies of variable thickness isotropic plates using well known finite difference technique. The plates are subjected to uni, biaxial compression and shear loadings and various combinations of boundary conditions are considered. The buckling load is found out as the in plane load that makes the determinant of the stiffness matrix equal to zero and the natural frequencies are found out by carrying out eigenvalue analysis of stiffness and mass matrices. New and exact results are given for many cases and the results are in close agreement with the published results. In this paper, like finite element method, finite difference method is applied in a very simple manner and the application of boundary conditions is also automatic.

Reynolds equation, which describes behavior of fluid film in journal bearing, basically satisfies mass conservation. But, boundary conditions usually used with this equation, e.g. half Sommerfeld or Reynolds boundary conditions, cannot fulfill this natural law of conservation. In the case of connecting rod bearing, where applied load is dynamic and its magnitude is relatively large, such unrealistic boundary conditions have serious influence on calculation results, especially on lubricant flow rate or power dissipation which are important parameters in thermal analysis. Another important factor in the analysis of connecting rod bearing is elastic deformation of bearing support structure which is relatively flexible. In this paper, EHL analysis of connecting rod beating is performed using mass-conserving boundary condition. Elastic deformation of bearing support structure and application of mass-conserving boundary condition have significant effects on the performances of connecting rod bearing.
