  • The auxiliary principle is used to suggest and analyze some iterative methods for solving solving hemivariational inequalities under mild conditions. The results obtained in this paper can be considered as a novel application of the auxiliary principle technique. Since hemivariational inequalities include variational inequalities and nonlinear optimization problems as special cases, our results continue to hold for these problems.

  • This paper reviews the available published literature on the antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and COX-2 inhibition properties of phycocyanin from Spirulina. The potential application of for the prevention and mitigation of such radical-induced chronic diseases like cancer and heart disease, and age-related degenerative diseases like Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, diabetes and other conditions are discussed based on the available evidence.

  • This paper deals with the problem of estimating regression coefficients in nonlinear regression model having random regressor. The sufficient conditions for consistency of the $L_1$-estimator with random regressor are given and discussed in this paper. An example is given to illustrate the application of the main results.

  • Let {X(t), $t{\geq}0$} be a stochastic integral process represented by stable random measure or multiple Ito-Wiener integrals. Under some conditions, we prove the continuity and self-similarity of these stochastic integral processes. As an application, we get Gaussian chaos which has some shift continuous function.

  • An artificial neural network (ANN) application is presented for flexural and axial vibration analysis of elastic beams with various support conditions. The first three natural frequencies of beams are obtained using multi layer neural network based back-propagation error learning algorithm. The natural frequencies of beams are calculated for six different boundary conditions via direct solution of governing differential equations of beams and Rayleigh's approximate method. The training of the network has been made using these data only flexural vibration case. The trained neural network, however, had been tested for cantilever beam (C-F), and both end free (F-F) in case the axial vibration, and clamped-clamped (C-C), and Guided-Pinned (G-P) support condition in case the flexural vibrations which were not included in the training set. The results found by using artificial neural network are sufficiently close to the theoretical results. It has been demonstrated that the artificial neural network approach applied in this study is highly successful for the purposes of free vibration analysis of elastic beams.

  • The optimization of experimental parameters, such as catalyst type, catalyst concentration, molar ratio of alcohol to oil and reaction temperature, on the transesterification for the production of rapeseed methyl ester has been studied. The Taguchi approach (Taguchi method) was adopted as the experimental design methodology, which was adequate for understanding the effects of the control parameters and to optimize the experimental conditions from a limited number of experiments. The optimal experimental conditions obtained from this study were potassium hydroxide as the catalyst, at a concentration of 1.5 wt %, and a reaction temperature of $60^{\circ}C$. According to Taguchi method, the catalyst concentration played the most important role in the yield of rapeseed methyl ester. Finally, the yield of rapeseed methyl ester was improved to 96.7% with the by optimal conditions of the control parameters which were obtained by Taguchi method.
