반사회적 의식이 반영된 시대복식의 특성에 관한 연구 - 18세기 상-뀔로뜨와 1960, 70년대 히피 스타일의 비교를 중심으로 - (A Study of Dress Characteristics with Respect to Anti-Social Resisting Consciousness - Focus on the Relationship between 18th Century Sans-Culotte and a Hippy Style During the 1960s and 1970s as a Comparative Perspective -)

  • The style of a dress allows important characterization of an era since they reflect contemporary politics, society, culture and arts. Within a same category, period costumes develop into styles that reflect specific consciousness. The research method and the scope of the study are as follows: the research adopts a historical study method and a comparative research from a microscopic point. The scope includes resistance costumes that proceed with sans-culotte that comprises of the resistance party during the 18th French Revolution (1783-1799), and also a Hippy style which was popularized during the 1960s and 1970s for its anti-war movement. We researched both similarities and differences of design factors reflecting resisting consciousness in costumes that affected costume characteristics related to their socio-cultural background. Sans-culotte and the Hippie style reflect a common denominator in anti-social resisting customs. First, they show common characteristics that combine fashion trends of resistant element and design features. Second, they have common features which are the characteristics of deviation. On the other hand, these two customs also present a discriminative denominator in anti-social resisting customs. In the case of sans-culotte, they tend to symbolize confrontation by dividing into two equal parts: the old and new mode. Sans-culotte confronts the conventional mode and promotes practical costume styles based on justice standpoints. First, hippies pursue an exposition of individual emotions that disclose internal meanings of love and desire. Second, they focus on subjective characteristics and chase after masteries and pleasures by expressing intensity. Third, it extends and develops folk costumes from many countries that reveal ethnic trends. Therefore, this research compares and contrasts different changes in the fashions of revolutionary periods, and aims to recognize the relationship between design and costume characteristics, thus contributing to the predictions of future changes in fashion.

The Chilling Trade Effects of Provisional Anti-dumping Duties: The Case of Korea

  • Purpose - This study empirically analyzes the effects of provisional anti-dumping duties levied on imports by Korea following anti-dumping investigations. An anti-dumping duty is a legal tool that countries use to impose duties on imports to offset injurious dumping. This study verifies how effective the imposition of a provisional anti-dumping duty is and whether such duties have trade chilling effects on aggregate imports. Specifically, this study examines import trade diversion from named to unnamed countries caused by the imposition of provisional anti-dumping duties. Design/methodology - This empirical analysis employs an econometric model of provisional anti-dumping measures for cases in which Korea imposed final affirmative anti-dumping measures. We construct a monthly panel dataset for each stage of anti-dumping investigation undertaken by Korea for all manufacturing industries during 1995-2013. We illustrate a stage-by-stage analysis of anti-dumping investigations from initiation, preliminary decision, imposition of provisional duty, final affirmative decision, and imposition of final affirmative duty on a monthly basis at the six-digit harmonized system code-level. Findings - For cases in which provisional duties are imposed, the reduction in imports from named countries outweighs the increase in imports from unnamed countries. The substantial reduction in imports from named countries is large enough to offset the import diversion to unnamed countries, suggesting that import diversion in investigations is limited during the investigation period. Therefore, the use of provisional anti-dumping duties in Korea is effective, providing evidence of a chilling effect on aggregate imports. Originality/value - Few studies examine the size of the effects on import trade diversion of the imposition of provisional anti-dumping duties. We contribute to the literature by disentangling separate trade effects for each phase of the anti-dumping investigation process and imposition of provisional duty.

Anti-windup 보상기의 점프공진에 관한 연구 (Jump resonance in anti-windup compensator for systems with saturating actuators)

  • One of the undesirable nonlinear phenomenon called 'wind up' occours when the integrator in the controller and the saturated actuator interact. Large overshoot, slow response, instability, limit cycle and jump resonance are the characteristics of wind up phenomenon. Several 'anti-windup' compensators have been developed to prevent some of the aforementioned nonlinear characteristics such as instabilituy and limit cycle, but none has studied the effect of antiwindup compensator on the jump resonance. In this paper, we developed an analyitcal method to design the compensator to prevent not only limit cycle but also jump resonance. An illustrative example is included to show the compensator eliminates jump resonance of effectively.

열선을 이용한 해양플랜트 헬리데크의 방한설계에 관한 연구 (A Study of Winterization Design for Helideck Using the Heating Cable on Ships and Offshore Platforms)

  • In recent years, the demand for ships and offshore platforms that can navigate and operate through the Arctic Ocean has been rapidly increasing due to global warming and large reservoirs of oil and natural gas in the area. Winterization design is one of the key issues to consider in the robust structural safety design and building of ships that operate in the Arctic and Sub-Arctic regions. However, international regulations for winterization design in Arctic condition regulated that only those ships and offshore platforms with a Polar Class designation and/or an alternative standard. In order to cope with the rising demand for operating in the Arctic region, existing and new Arctic vessels with a Polar Class designation are lacking to cover for adequate winterization design with HSE philosophy. Existing ships and offshore platform was not designed based on reliable data based on numerical and experiment studies. There are only designed as a performance and functional purposes. It is very important to obtain of reliable data and provide of design guidance of the anti-icing structures by taking the effects of low temperature into consideration. Therefore, the main objective of this paper reconsiders anti-icing design of aluminum helideck using the heating cable. To evaluate of reliable data and recommend of anti-icing design method, various types of analysis and methods can be applied in general. In the present study, finite element method carried out the thermal analysis with cold chamber testing for performance and capacity of heating cables.

Designing Inhibitor against Phospholipases A2 Enzyme through Inslico-Molecular Docking Studies

  • Pyrazole, hydroxyimino, aldehyde and isoxazole derivatives exhibit a broad spectrum of biological activities such as antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory and antitumor activities. With growing application on their synthesis and bioactivity, chemists and biologists in recent years have considerable attention on the research of these derivatives. In the view of potential importance of these derivatives, we have crystallized few of the derivatives and its report has been published. The present study focuses on docking studies of these derivatives against Phospholipases $A_2$ enzyme. This enzymes has implicated as potential targets for anti-inflammatory drug design. co-crystal structure (PDB ID: 1POE) of $PLA_2$ deposited in Protein Data Bank has been retrieved for docking analysis. Docking studies using Schrodinger's GLIDE reveals that these derivatives shows better binding energy and score in the defined active site. These results may provide a guiding role to design a lead molecule which may reduce inflamation.

LQ 제어를 이용한 붐형 크레인의 흔들림 제어기 설계 (Design of the Anti-sway Controller for a Boom Type Crane Using the LQ Control)

  • An LQ controller design method is proposed for effective anti-sway control of boom type crane in this paper. It is important for high productivity that the sway of a load is controlled as fast as possible when the trolley arrives to the destination with maximum velocity. To prove the effectiveness of the proposed LQ controller. simulations and experiments using the boom type crane as experimental device is carried out. Tracking performance for a step type reference and robustness for the change of working environment such as the change of load weight and parameters produced by a wire rope and disturbance by the wind arc proved by the experiment. It will be examined that boom type crane can be applied to industrial fields through experiment in this paper.

A Study on an Anti-Rolling System Design of a Ship with the Flaps

  • Roll stabilization systems for ships are employed to increase comfort for passengers, maintain full working capabilities for members of the crew and prevent cargo damage. In this paper, we have investigated the usefulness of active stabilizing system to reduce ship rolling under disturbances, using varied reaction of the flaps. In the proposed anti-rolling system for a ship, the flaps as the actuator are installed on the stern to reject rolling motion induced by disturbances such as wave. The action induced by flaps depends on power of disturbances and can take the ship balance. Especially, in this study we define the system parameters under the given system structure and design the controller to evaluate the usefulness of the proposed system.

LMI를 이용한 선박 횡동요 제어에 관한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on the Rolling Motion Control of a Ship Based on LMI Approach)

  • In this paper, an actively controlled anti-rolling system is considered, in order to reduce the rolling motion of a ship. In this control system, a small auxiliary mass is installed on the upper area of the ship, and an actuator is connected between the auxiliary mass and the ship. The actuator reacts the auxiliary mass, applying inertial control forces to the ship to reduce the rolling motion in the desired manner. In this paper, we introduce LMI based H$_{\infty}$ control approach to design the anti-rolling control system for the controlled ship. And the experimental results show that the desirable control performance can be achieved.

  • Recently China has carried out a successful anti-satellite missile test at more than 850km altitude January 11 destroying an aging Chinese weather satellite target with a kinetic kill vehicle launched on board a ballistic missile. Korea has developed scientific and commercial satellites and sounding rockets from 1990s. As the fear of the militarisation of space becomes the reality, we need to consider the safety of our space assets from the perspectives of design, operation, and policy. In this paper we study on the general meanings and impacts of Chinese anti-satellite missile test and the measure to protect our space assets from the points of the design, operation and policy.

  • This paper proposes the design of anti-braking system on aircraft and wheel slip ratio control using adaptive slide mode control. By maintaining the desired wheel slip ratio under runway conditions, we can obtain the maximal frictional force and reduce the braking range. In this paper, we apply an adaptive sliding mode control to aircraft brake system and it can guarantee the robustness under variations in brake characteristics. The performance of proposed controller is verified in simulations.
