하악 제 2 유구치 근관 만곡의 방사선학적 계측 (THE RADIOGRAPHICAL MEASUREMENT OF ROOT CANAL CURVATURE OF MANDIBULAR PRIMARY 2ND MOLARS)

  • 유치근의 치근이개와 만곡에 관련된 형태학적 특성은 치열교환기의 치근 흡수 및 근단 병소의 양상을 결정지을 뿐 아니라, 성공적인 치수치료에 심대한 영향을 미친다. 본 연구는 하악 제 2유구치 근관 만곡의 각도, 반경 및 만곡 시작점을 측정해 봄으로써, 유치근과 근관의 해부학적 형태를 정밀 분석할 목적으로 시행되었다. 연구재료로는 $3{\sim}6$세의 어린이의 제 2 유구치 구내 치근단 방사선 사진 50매를 사용하였다. 근단공이 미완성이거나 흡수된 것을 제외하고, 방사선상의 왜곡이 적으며 근관 형태의 판독이 가능한 것을 선택하고, 자료를 digital image화하여 이미지 분석용 software Scion Image Beta 4.02 (Scion Co. USA)를 이용하여 만곡을 분석하였다. 그리고 Schneider법에 의해 만곡도를 측정하고, Schaefer 등의 방법에 의해 만곡반경을 측정하였으며, 아울러 만곡개시거리를 측정하고 근원심근 간의 비교를 통하여 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. 1. 제 2유구치의 만곡도는 근심근에서 $17.3^{\circ}{\pm}5.0$, 원심근에서 $27.9^{\circ}{\pm}6.0$로 원심근에서 크게 나타났다(p<0.05). 2. 만곡반경은 근심근에서 $8.7\;mm{\pm}2.5$, 원심근에서 $5.8\;mm{\pm}1.5$로 근심근에서 크게 나타났다(p<0.05). 3. 만곡개시거리는 근심근에서 $4.1\;mm{\pm}0.6$, 원심근에서 $4.2\;mm{\pm}0.6$로 양 근간에 차이가 없었다(p<0.05).

맞춤형 지대주 제작에 사용되는 수렴 각과 곡률 반경의 값에 따른 가공 정확도 평가 (Evaluation on machining accuracy according to convergence angle and radius of curvature value used for fabricating custom abutments)

  • 본 연구는 맞춤형 지대주 (custom abutment) 설계 시 CAD 프로그램 내에서 선택된 수렴 각 그리고 곡률 반경 값 사용에 따른 가공 정확도를 평가하고자 한다. 치과용 CAD를 기반으로 10개의 맞춤형 지대주를 설계하였다. 제작된 맞춤형 지대주를 정밀 접촉식 스캐너를 이용하여 한 개의 시편을 10회 반복 스캔하였다. 스캔 된 맞춤형 지대주의 데이터는 "Test STL" 파일로 지정하여 저장하였다. Geomagic studio 소프트웨어를 이용하여 각 "Test STL" 파일과 동명 번호로 지정하여 저장된 CAD-reference-model STL 파일 (CRM)과 중첩하였다. 실험 결과에서 A8 군(수렴 각 $8^{\circ}$) 군은 A4 군(수렴 각 $4^{\circ}$) 보다 낮은 오차 수치를 나타났다. 또한, 곡률 반경 값이 높을 수록 맞춤형 지대주의 Top 그리고 chamfer 부위에 오차가 적게 나타냈다(p< 0.05). 전체적으로, 맞춤형 지대주 설계 시 곡률 반경 값은 가공 정확도에 영향을 미치는 것을 알 수 있었다.

  • Oval gears are typical kinds of non-circular gears and are widely used in flow meters. This paper presents a tooth profile design of an oval gear according to the curvature of the pitch curve. The length of the pitch oval is divided by the number of teeth and the curvature of the divided points is obtained. The tooth profile is designed on the circle of the curvature as if it is the pitch circle of a gear. The teeth of the oval gear have the same module and pressure angle, but the pitch circle of each tooth differs in size. Thus, the teeth on the divided points of the pitch oval are different in shape. This type of oval gear will improve the meshing properties.

  • 본 연구에서는 실험적 방법을 통하여 엔진 배기관의 굴곡 형상이 배기 소음에 미치는 영향에 대해서 고찰하였다. 엔진으로는 4기통, 배기량 2164cc의 디이젤 엔진 을 사용하였으며 엔진의 보통 사용 범위인 1200∼3200rpm, 드로틀밸브의 개방도 25∼를 100% 구간에서 실험을 수행하였다. 굴곡부의 형상으로는 대부분의 배기관 굴곡이 원 호 형태임을 고헌하여 원호형의 굴곡관과 관의 꺽임부의 영향을 고찰하기 위한 직각형 굴곡관의 두가지 형태를 택하였따. 각 엔진의 운전 조건에서 굴곡관의 형상 치수를 바꾸어 가며 배기 소음의 음압(sound pressure level, SPL)과 스펙트럼을 얻었으며 이 들을 상호 비교 검토하여 배기관 굴곡 형상의 주요 설계 변수에 의한 배기 소음의 영 향을 고찰하였다.

Effect of flap angle on transom stern flow of a High speed displacement Surface combatant

  • Hydrodynamic Drag of Surface combatants pose significant challenges with regard to fuel efficiency and exhaust emissions. Stern flaps have been used widely as an energy saving device, particularly by the US Navy (Hemanth et al. 2018a, Hemanth Kumar and Vijayakumar 2018b). In the present investigation the effect of flap turning angle on drag reduction is numerically and experimentally studied for a high-speed displacement surface combatant fitted with a stern flap in the Froude number range of 0.17-0.48. Parametric investigations are undertaken for constant chord length & span and varying turning angles of 5° 10° & 15°. Experimental resistance values in towing tank tests were validated with CFD. Investigations revealed that pressure increased as the flow velocity decreased with an increase in flap turning angle which was due to the centrifugal action of the flow caused by the induced concave curvature under the flap. There was no significant change in stern wave height but there was a gradual increase in the stern wave steepness with flap angle. Effective length of the vessel increased by lengthening of transom hollow. In low Froude number regime, flow was not influenced by flap curvature effects and pressure recovery was marginal. In the intermediate and high Froude number regimes pressure recovery increased with the flap turning angle and flow velocity.

  • CFRP composite materials have wide application in structure materials of airplane, ships, and aero space vehicles because of their high strength and stiffness. This paper is to study the effects of curvature and orientation angle on the penetration characteristics of CFRP laminate shell. They are staked with 8 Ply specimens [0$_2$/90$_2$]$_{s}$, [0/90$_2$/0]$_{s}$ and the stacked of outer plates degree with 12 Ply specimens [0$_3$/90$_3$]$_{s}$, [0$_2$/90$_2$/0]$_{s}$ and [90$_3$/0$_3$], [90$_2$/0$_2$/90]S. They are manufactured to varied curvature radius (R=100,150,200mm and $\infty$). They are cured by heating to the appropriate harding temperature(13$0^{\circ}C$) by mean of a heater at the vaccum bag of the autoclave. Test specimens were prepared with dimensions 100mm$\times$140mm. When the specimen is subjected to transverse impact by a steel ball, the velocity of the steel ball was measured both before and after impact by determining the time for it to pass two ballistic-screen sensor located a known distance apart. In general, kinetic energy after impact-kinetic energy before impact rised in all specimens. This study observed a fracture mode inside the specimen after a penetration test using a digital camera and it examined a fracture mode and a penetration mode to stack of outer orientation angle and curvature.rvature.

An Ergonomic Shape Design for Automotive Push-Return Switches

  • Objective: The objective of this study is to understand the effect of angle and curvature of push-return switches, which are external factors in the operation environment inside the cars, on the feel of operation and to propose optimum alternatives. Background: Customers' needs for products are changing from functional and performance aspects to customer-led type where customers can reflect on their needs on the products. The operation inside cars is executed by HMI. The push-return switch is utilized as the most intuitive mode of HMI; therefore, this push-return switch, which is widely used, has to be developed by assessing the preference and satisfaction of the customer. Method: The angle and curvatures, which are external factors that affect the feel of operation, are drawn through surveying the preceding research literatures. The stages to construct alternatives in experiments are as follows: (1) the tactile switch is replaced after dismantling the switch assembly to evaluate the internal characteristics proposed by preceding researches, (2) a drawing is prepared by using a design software, is printed using 3D printer, and then it is attached on the switch assembly, and (3) evaluation for satisfaction of operation is carried out by using a driving simulator. Results: Both the angle and curvature that are external factors of switch significantly affect the feel of operation. However, interaction between the two factors is found insignificant. Therefore, an optimum alternative is proposed considering the experimental outcomes. Conclusion: This study evaluates the satisfaction in operation that affects the feel of operation environment inside the cars. Based on the study results, a guideline for switch design in the center fascia is proposed. Application: This study is expected to be used as basic data for designing automotive switches, as well as switches in the industries similar with the operation environments of cars.

액티베이터가 경추의 정렬에 미치는 영향에 관한 사례 연구 (A Case Study on Cervical Alignments Affecting by Activator)

  • This study was performed to assess the efficacy of Activator for the patient with chronic neck pain. Mail, 26 years old, is treated with Activator, which was applied for 15 minutes every two days during the 4 weeks. The results of this study are as follows: 1. The treated case compared with the previous case showed that R.O.M particularly increased in flexion and extension. 2. The atlas/skull angle compared with the previous case showed that the angle increased from $0.8^{\circ}$ to $1.5^{\circ}$. In the atlas/skull, normal angle is $5.6^{\circ}$. 3. The angle of cervical curve lordosis compared with the previous case showed that the angle increased from $38.3^{\circ}$ to $48.1^{\circ}$. In the healthy spine, the angle is $42.0^{\circ}$. 4. The anterior curvature compared with the previous case showed that curve radii decreased from 7,220mm to 200mm. In the spine, normal curvature is 165mm. 5. Rush Jackson's angle compared with the previous case showed that the angle increased from $14.8^{\circ}$ to $29.1^{\circ}$. In the healthy spine, normal angle is $39.9^{\circ}$. We can not find significant level for Activator, but it is considered that activator method of chiropractic technique is effective.

  • I. Objectives This study was done to evaluate which type of Ni-Ti instrument be able to perform canal shape well in the simulated canal with abrupt curvature near it's apex. II. Materials and Methods A total of 96 simulated root canals were made in epoxy resin(EPOXICURETM, BUEHLER, USA), #15 finger spreader (MANI, Japan) were used as root canal templates. The simulated root canal were made with radius of curvature of 1.5 mm, 3.0 mm, 4.0 mm, 6.0 mm respectively, and angle of curvature of all simulate camals was 90 degree.(omitted)

교통사고 후 응급실에 내원한 경항통 환자의 경추 만곡 연구 (The Cervical Spine Curvature of Posterior Neck Pain Patients Who Visited Emergency Room After Whiplash Injury by Traffic Accident)

  • Objectives : The purpose of this study is to investigate the cervical spine curvature after whiplash injury by traffic accident. Methods : The cervical lateral radiographs of 102 outpatients who visited emergency room in Kyung-Hee university hospital at Gangdong after whiplash injury by road traffic accident were reviewed to measure the cervical spine angle using C1-7, C2-7 Cobb method, Sagittal tangent method, Jochumsen method and the Ishihara index by two oriental medical doctors. For statistics, we used SPSS version 17.0 for windows. Results : Means of cervical angle are $37.63{\pm}11.34^{\circ}$, $12.92{\pm}9.13^{\circ}$, $16.19{\pm}10.62^{\circ}$, $1.78{\pm}3.37$ and $8.51{\pm}9.78$ by C1-C7 Cobb Method, C2-C7 Cobb Method, Sagittal tangent method, Jochumsen method and Ishihara index, respectively. Hypolordosis is most numeral in patients by C1-C7 Cobb Method(n=40; 39.22%), Sagittal tangent method(n=68; 66.67%). And Straight is the most by Jochumsen method(n=54; 52.94%), but Normal is the most by Ishihara index(n=53; 51.96%). And Female has smaller curvature in cervical spine than male significantly by C2-C7 Cobb method and Sagittal tangent method(P<0.05). Conclusions : Whiplash injury tends to make hypolordosis or straight. And female has more vulnerable curvature than male in whiplash injury.
