  • In this paper, we take advantage of the SEN Remote HMI App as a tool based on Raspberry Pi server for the smart home control. This is a smart home control system built in an open and a low-cost Raspberry Pi as a server, and take advantage of Android-based graphical programming software SEN Remote HMI. If you build it based system expansion and additional works interface via the Raspberry Pi and Arduino, it is expected to be extended to the Internet of Things (IoT) enabling environment for the implementation of smart home.

  • The Internet of Things(IoT) is one of the key technologies in the Fourth Industrial Revolution. The IoT is a system that acquires information from various sensors and provides meaningful information to users. The method of obtaining information from sensor is using WIFI, Bluetooth and Server. is not accessible to external users because of different type of networks or local area communication. For this reason, there is a problem that external user cannot receive notification in regard to sensor information. In this paper, we want to establish a cloud message environment using Google's FCM(Firebase Cloud Messaging) and find out through experiments how users can receive notifications even if they are outside.

  • In the fourth industrial revolution, customization is becoming a conversation topic in various domains. Industry 4.0 applies cyber-physical systems (CPS), the Internet of Things (IoT), and cloud computing to manufacturing businesses. One of the main phrases in Industry 4.0 is mass customization. Optimized products or services are developed and provided through customization. Therefore, the competitiveness of a product can be enhanced, and satisfaction is improved. In particular, as IoT technology spreads, customization is an essential aspect of smooth service connections between various devices or things. Customized services in mobile applications are assembled and operate in various mobile devices in the mobile environment. Therefore, this paper proposes a method for improving customized cloud server-based mobile architectures, processes, and metrics, and for measuring the performance improvement of the customized architectures operating in various mobile devices based on the Android or IOS platforms. We reduce the total time required for customization in half as a result of applying the proposed customized architectures, processes, and metrics in various devices.

  • Kinect sensor version 2 is a kind of camera released by Microsoft as a computer vision and a natural user interface for game consoles like Xbox one. It allows acquiring color images, depth images, audio input and skeletal data with a high frame rate. In this paper, using depth image, we present a surveillance system of a certain area within Kinect's field of view. With computer vision library(Emgu CV), if an object is detected in the target area, it is tracked and kinect camera takes RGB image to send it in database server. Therefore, a mobile application on android platform was developed in order to notify the user that Kinect has sensed strange motion in the target region and display the RGB image of the scene. User gets the notification in real-time to react in the best way in the case of valuable things in monitored area or other cases related to a reserved zone.

Indoor IoT Monitoring System based on Visible Light Communication using Smart Phone (스마트폰을 이용한 가시광통신 기반 실내 IoT 모니터링 시스템)

  • In this paper, we propose indoor IoT monitoring system based on visible light communication using smart phone with attracting attentions in recent wireless communication. The main features and contributions of the proposed system developed in this paper are as follows. First, the actual data generated within indoor can be processed via the server by using only the visible light communication. Second, the collected data by using the visible light communication can be monitered by smart phone. Performance evaluation of the proposed system is performed under illumination of the normal fluorescent lamps. We first check successful transmission between transmitting module and receiving module of the data collection system. The monitoring system is tested according to the change of the degree of condensing and distance of the LED and the decoding success rate of the proposed smart phone application. We expect that the proposed system can be applied for indoor and outdoor IoT areas together.

A Study on the Development of Electric Signal Measuring Device Using a Smart Phone (스마트 폰을 이용한 전기신호 측정기 개발에 관한 연구)

  • In this paper, we propose a method to develop a multimeter which is used for measuring electric signals in industrial field by using battery and display of smart phone. Most of the multimeters that are linked to existing smartphones are connected to Bluetooth, which is inconvenient for battery use and low in measurement accuracy. To improve this, we developed smart multimeter that can supply power and data at the same time by USB OTG method which can be used by sharing the power of smartphone. We also developed a smart multimeter that can measure resistance, DC voltage, current, AC voltage and current. Developed an Android app with a button that displays measurement data and can select the type of electric signal to be measured, and tests whether the manufactured system is operating normally or not. Respectively.The results of this study confirm that it is possible to fabricate a smart meter that has equal or better performance compared to existing instruments and does not require a separate power source or display, and it is expected to be a reference for the development of various smart instruments in the future.

Development of Bus Notification Systems Based on IoT for Vulnerable Pedestrians (교통약자를 위한 사물인터넷 기반 버스 알림 서비스 시스템 개발)

  • As more populations are getting older, the number of vulnerable pedestrians is increasing, thereby social problems related to transportations also frequently occur in different areas and situations. Many of such problems come from bus drivers who may pass bus stops not recognizing passengers about to board. In this paper, we propose a new IoT bus notification system developed to avoid these situations. Our implementation aims to gain bus service routes using publicly opened data, notify passengers about bus stop locations using GPS information and finally deliver the positions of those passengers to the bus drivers so that they can hardly miss passengers who are willing to board on the right stop. By creating an application, it was conducted by means of a GPS to communicate the location of the vehicle by means of GPS and transfer data to the location of the vehicle. Experimental results show that it is possible to accurately determine the position of passengers even in a crowded race area. The average error distance is 31m, and if the data to be processed as error is excluded, it provides a high reliability as 19m.

  • In real life, We are using IoT technology directly. IoT technology has been applied in many fields and has developed continuously. Internet of Things is a technology or environment that attaches sensors to objects and sends and receives data through internet in real time. In this paper, if a password is wrong more than three times, the existing password is initialized and randomly changed. Changed password data seeks to realize that push alarms are sent via the app to the user or administrator. We have studied an Indono-based IoT system that can send real-time data to smart phones through WiFi. smart door locks are intended to implement them using Aduino, fingerprint sensor, camera sensor, Wi-Fi shield, Android Studio, and door lock components.

  • As the population of camping is increased in campsites and auto camp sites, the electrical equipment can safely supply electricity to users in a variety of electricity bill policy is required in the campsite. In this paper, we develop the vending machine for electricity that can control the outdoor electrical outlet from the management server using the Z-Wave WPAN and android mobile application. The developed vending machine for electricity consists of the management server, the controller, the outdoor outlet box, and the mobile application. The management server provides reservation and electricity bill payment to users. The management server controls the electrical outlet box through the controller to safely supply electricity to users. The controller that is a relay device between the management server and the switch controls switches based on Z-Wave mesh network. Outdoor electrical outlet box has 2 meter switches. We receive the relevant authorization to provide commercial electricity services using the outdoor electrical outlet box in the campsite.

BLE-OTP Authorization Mechanism for iBeacon Network Security (iBeacon 네트워크 보안을 위한 BLE-OTP 인증 메커니즘)

  • Machine to Machine (M2M) technology has gained attention due to the fast diffusion of Internet of Things (IoT) technologies and smart devices. Most wireless network experts believe that Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) Communications technology in an iBeacon network has amazing advantages in terms of providing communication services at a low cost in smartphone applications. Specifically, BLE does not require any pairing process during its communication phases, so it is possible to send a message to any node without incurring additional transmissions costs if they are within the BLE communication range. However, BLE does not require any security verification during communication, so it has weak security. Therefore, a security authorization process would be necessary to obtain customer confidence. To provide security functions for iBeacon, we think that the iBeacon Message Encryption process and a Decryption (Authorization) process should be designed and implemented. We therefore propose the BLE message Authorization Mechanism based on a One Time Password Algorithm (BLE-OTP). The effectiveness of our mechanism is evaluated by conducting a performance test on an attendance system based on BLE-OTP.
