Introducing Mobile Cloud Computing-Cloudlet for implementing mobile APP (모바일앱을 구현하기 위한 모바일 클라우드 도입)

  • Virtualization lacks capabilities for enabling the application to scale efficiently because of new applications components which are raised to be configured on demand. In this paper, we propose an architecture that affords mobile app based on nomadic smartphone using not only mobile cloud computing-cloudlet architecture but also a dedicated platform that relies on using virtual private mobile networks to provide reliable connectivity through Long Term Evolution (LTE) wireless communication. The design architecture lies with how the cloudlet host discovers service and sends out the cloudlet IP and port while locating the user mobile device. We demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed architecture by implementing an android application responsible of real time analysis by using a vehicle to applications smart phones interface approach that considers the smartphones to act as a remote users which passes driver inputs and delivers outputs from external applications.

A Study of Factors Affecting Mobile Application Download (모바일 애플리케이션 다운로드에 영향을 미치는 요인에 관한 연구)

  • Mobile applications are significantly impacting people's smart phone using behavior and mobile industry value chain. By examining sources of data on mobile applications use, this study presents evidence about what factors would affect the amount of apps download, which may be useful to guide app designers and publishers to develop more persuasive new apps and marketing strategies. The results indicated app ranking had effect on download amount of apps in both Android app market and Apple app store, while prices of apps had no impact on the amount of download. App type, developer experience, and locality had effect on the amount of download only for paid apps in Apple app store.

A Novel Technique for Detection of Repacked Android Application Using Constant Key Point Selection Based Hashing and Limited Binary Pattern Texture Feature Extraction

  • Repacked mobile apps constitute about 78% of all malware of Android, and it greatly affects the technical ecosystem of Android. Although many methods exist for repacked app detection, most of them suffer from performance issues. In this manuscript, a novel method using the Constant Key Point Selection and Limited Binary Pattern (CKPS: LBP) Feature extraction-based Hashing is proposed for the identification of repacked android applications through the visual similarity, which is a notable feature of repacked applications. The results from the experiment prove that the proposed method can effectively detect the apps that are similar visually even that are even under the double fold content manipulations. From the experimental analysis, it proved that the proposed CKPS: LBP method has a better efficiency of detecting 1354 similar applications from a repository of 95124 applications and also the computational time was 0.91 seconds within which a user could get the decision of whether the app repacked. The overall efficiency of the proposed algorithm is 41% greater than the average of other methods, and the time complexity is found to have been reduced by 31%. The collision probability of the Hashes was 41% better than the average value of the other state of the art methods.

  • This study is about developing an Android application that provides information on customized styling and the app was made to offer assistance in coordinating users' clothing. It keeps the record on clothing items users wore and uses it as coordination information, and prepares styling by referring to user-specific clothing management data. The photos can taken during shopping or can be taken from smart phone gallery, and the images searched through Daum OpenAPI can be saves in the app. Using the saved photos of items and clothes that were previously worn, the app provides styling recommendations.

  • Using cross-platform development frameworks, mobile app developers can easily implement mobile apps for multiple platforms in one step. The frameworks also provides adversaries with the ability to write malicious code once, and then run it anywhere for other platforms. In this paper, we analyze the ratio of benign and malicious apps written by cross-platform development frameworks for Android apps collected from AndroZoo's site. The analysis results show that the percentage of benign apps written in the frameworks continues to increase, accounting for 45% of all benign apps in 2018. The percentage of malicious apps written in the frameworks accounted for 25% of all malicious apps in 2015, but that percentage has declined since then. This study provides useful information to make a suitable choice when app developers face several challenges in cross platform app development.

  • As mobile terminal environment gets matured, the use of Android platform based mobile terminals has been growing high. Recently, the number of attacks by malicious application is also increasing as Android platform is vulnerable to private information leakage in nature. Most of these malicious applications are easily distributed to general users through open market or internet and an attacker inserts malicious code into malicious app which could be harmful tool to steal private data and banking data such as SMS, contacts list, and public key certificate to a remote server. To cope with these security threats more actively, it is necessary to develop countermeasure system that enables to detect security vulnerability existing in mobile device and take an appropriate action to protect the system against malicious attacks. In this sense, this paper aggregates diverse system events from multiple mobile devices and also implements a system to detect attacks by malicious application.

  • Task environment for enterprises and public institutions are moving into cyberspace-based environment and structing the LTE wireless network. The applications "App" operated in the LTE wireless network are mostly being developed with Android-based. But Android-based malwares are surging and they are the potential DDoS attacks. DDoS attack is a major information security threat and a means of cyber attacks. DDoS attacks are difficult to detect in advance and to defense effectively. To this end, a DMZ is set up in front of a network infrastructure and a particular server for defensive information security. Because There is the proliferation of mobile devices and apps, and the activation of android diversify DDoS attack methods. a DMZ is a limit to detect and to protect against DDoS attacks. This paper proposes an information security method to detect and Protect DDoS attacks from the terminal phase using a Preemptive military strategy concept. and then DDoS attack detection and protection app is implemented and proved its effectiveness by reducing web service request and memory usage. DDoS attack detection and protecting will ensure the efficiency of the mobile network resources. This method is necessary for a continuous usage of a wireless network environment for the national security and disaster control.

  • A streaming service is considered as an important fact to listen musics at mobile device in the popular smart-phone era. An apple's HTTP Live Streaming method is used in iOS and a RTSP(Real-time Streaming Protocol) method is used in Android OS. A Wowza Media Sever will be used to support both apple and android mobile streaming. This paper describes a design and implementation of smart-phone app. to record user's songs by userself with smart-phone recording function, upload to the streaming server and to service real-time mobile streaming play for an user's selected song and provide song sharing SNS functions.

Implementation of a Geo-Semantic App by Combining Mobile User Contexts with Geographic Ontologies

  • This paper describes a GIS framework for geo-semantic information retrieval in mobile computing environments. We built geographic ontologies of POI (point of interest) and weather information for use in the combination of semantic, spatial, and temporal functions in a fully integrated database. We also implemented a geo-semantic app for Android-based smartphones that can extract more appropriate POIs in terms of user contexts and geographic ontologies and can visualize the POIs using Google Maps API (application programming interface). The feasibility tests showed our geo-semantic app can provide pertinent POI information according to mobile user contexts such as location, time, schedule, and weather. We can discover a baking CVS (convenience store) in the test of bakery search and can find out a drive-in theater for a not rainy day, which are good examples of the geo-semantic query using semantic, spatial, and temporal functions. As future work, we should need ontology-based inference systems and the LOD (linked open data) of various ontologies for more advanced sharing of geographic knowledge.
