A Study on the Development of Driving Risk Assessment Model for Autonomous Vehicles Using Fuzzy-AHP (퍼지 AHP를 이용한 자율주행차량의 운행 위험도 평가 모델 개발 연구)

  • Commercialization of level-4 (Lv.4) autonomous driving applications requires the definition of a safe road environment under which autonomous vehicles can operate safely. Thus, a risk assessment model is required to determine whether the operation of autonomous vehicles can provide safety to is sufficiently prepared for future real-life traffic problems. Although the risk factors of autonomous vehicles were selected and graded, the decision-making method was applied as qualitative data using a survey of experts in the field of autonomous driving due to the cause of the accident and difficulty in obtaining autonomous driving data. The fuzzy linguistic representation of decision-makers and the fuzzy analytic hierarchy process (AHP), which converts uncertainty into quantitative figures, were implemented to compensate for the AHP shortcomings of the multi-standard decision-making technique. Through the process of deriving the weights of the upper and lower attributes, the road alignment, which is a physical infrastructure, was analyzed as the most important risk factor in the operation risk of autonomous vehicles. In addition, the operation risk of autonomous vehicles was derived through the example of the risk of operating autonomous vehicles for the 5 areas to be evaluated.

Feedback Analysis Technique for Tunnel Safety by Using Displacements Measured during the Tunnel Excavation (터널굴착변위를 활용한 시공중 피드백 해석기법 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to develop a new technique to quickly assess the quantitative stability of a tunnel by using measured displacement at the tunnel construction site. To achieve this purpose, in this study, a critical strain concept was introduced for the first time and applied to an assessment of a tunnel under construction. The new technique calculates numerically the strains of the surrounding ground by using displacements measured during tunnel excavation. The techniques considering the relative displacement, shotcrete, and anisotropic characteristics of ground were newly introduced after reinvestigating the existing analysis technique. In addition, an analysis module was developed based on the proposed analysis technique in this study, and the applicability of the developed module was verified. To verify the module, first of all, the calculated excavation displacements of a cylindrical tunnel by analytic method and commercial programs (Pentagon-3D, Flac-2D) were compared for the confirmation of applicability of commercial programs. Then, the calculated excavation displacements under the same initial condition, both with and without a shotcrete lining, by two commercial programs were compared. finally, we assess the load condition and material properties of in-situ ground by inputting tunnel excavation displacement, which was calculated by a commercial program, into the developed analysis module (FAST-Ver. 1.2, feedback Analysis System for Tunneling), and checked whether the assessed results conform to the originally assumed values.

A Study on Selection of Optimal Shelters according to Dam Break Scenario Based on Continuous Rainfall Event (연속호우사상기반의 댐 붕괴 시나리오에 따른 최적대피소 선정에 관한 연구)

  • There is a growing demand for the stability of existing dams due to abnormal climate and the aging of dams. Emergency Action Plans (EAPs) for reservoir or dam failure only consider a single rainfall event. Therefore, this study simulates dam failure caused by continuous rainfall events, and proposes the establishment of EAP by selecting the optimal shelters. We define a mega rainfall event scenario caused by continuous rainfall events with 500-year frequency in the Chungju Dam watershed and estimate the mega flood. The mega flood event scenario is divided into two cases: scenario A represents the flooding case caused by discharge release from a dam, while scenario B is the case of a dam break. As a result of flood inundation analysis, the flooded damage area by the scenario A is 50.06 km2 and the area by the scenario B is 6.1 times of scenario A (307.45 km2). We select optimal shelters for each administrative region in the city of Chungju, which has the highest inundation rate in the urban area. Seven shelter evaluation indicators from domestic and foreign shelter selection criteria are chosen, and Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) method is used to evaluate the alternatives. As a result of the optimal shelter selection, the six shelters are selected and five are schools. This study considers continuous rainfall events for inundation analysis and selection of optimal shelters. Also, the results of this study could be used as a reference for establishment of the EAP.

Fundamental Frequency Extraction of Stay Cable based on Energy Equation (에너지방정식에 기초한 사장 케이블 기본진동수 추출)

  • According to longer and longer span, dynamic instability of stay cable should be prevented. Dynamic instability occurs mainly symmetric 1st mode and antisymmetric 1st mode in stay cable. Especially symmetric 1st mode has a lot of influence on sag. Therefore fundamental frequency of stay cable is different from that of taut sting. Irvine, Triantafyllou, Ahn etc. analyzed dynamic behavior of taut cable with sag through analytical technical and their researches give important results for large bounds of Irvine parameter. But each research shows mutually different values out of characteristic (cross-over or mode-coupled) point and each solution of frequency equations of all researchers can be very difficultly found because of their very high non-linearity. Presented study focuses on fundamental frequency of stay cable. Generalized mechanical energy with symmetric 1st mode vibration shape satisfied boundary conditions is evolved by Rayleigh-Ritz method. It is possible to give linear analytic solution within characteristic point. Error by this approach shows only below 3% at characteristic point against existing researches. And taut cable don't exceed characteristic point. I.e. high accuracy, easy solving techniques, and a little bit limitations. Therefore presented study can be announced that it is good study ergonomically.

  • The energy efficiency and environment-friendly aspect of the railway system would be superior to other on-land ransportation systems. In a preliminary feasibility study stage and selection of optimal railway route, the energy efficiency and problems related to environment are usually considered. For the selection of optimal railway route, geographical features and facility of management are generally considered. Environment effect factors for the selection of environment-friendly railway router are focused and studied in this paper. In this study, various analysis of opinion of specialists (railway, environment, transport, urban planning, survey) and the guideline for construction of environment-friendly railway were accomplished. From these results of various analysis, 7 major categories (topography/geology, flora and fauna, Nature Property, air quality, water quality, noise/vibration, visual impact/cultural assets) were extracted. To select environment friendly railway route, many alternatives should be compared optimal route must be selected by a comprehensive assessment considering these 7 categories. To solve this problem, the selected method was AHP which simplifies the complex problems utilizing hierarchy, quantifying qualitative problems through 1:1 comparison, and extracting objective conclusions by maintaining consistency. As a result, a GUIbased program was developed which provides basic values of weighted parameters of each category defined by specialists, and a quantification of detailed assessment guidelines to ensures consistency.

  • In this paper, we proposed a methodology to effectively determine the selection and prioritization of new business and innovation projects using AI technology. AI technology is a technology that can upgrade the business of companies in various industries and increase the added value of the entire industry. However, there are various constraints and difficulties in the decision-making process of selecting and implementing AI projects in the enterprise. In this paper, we propose a new methodology for prioritizing AI projects using Morphology, AHP, and TOPSIS. The proposed methodology helps prioritize AI projects by simultaneously considering the technical feasibility of AI technology and real-world user requirements. In this study, we applied the proposal methodology to a real enterprise that wanted to prioritize multiple AI projects in the HR field and evaluated the results. The results confirm the practical applicability of the methodology and suggest ways to use it to help companies make decisions about AI projects. The significance of the methodology proposed in this study is that it is a framework for prioritizing multiple AI projects considered by a company in the most reasonable way by considering both business and technical factors at the same time.

Analysis of Elementary Teachers' Views on Barriers in Implementing Inquiry-based Instructions (초등학교 과학 탐구 수업 실행의 저해 요인에 대한 교사들의 인식 분석)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate elementary teachers' views on the barriers in implementing inquiry-based instruction in science education. For this, semi-structured in-depth interviews were performed with 22 elementary school teachers who have served for more than five years in the Gyeonggi province. The interview questions were developed through triangulation of Seidman's phase to achieve reliability in the interview data, then interview questions were modified and completed through an analytic induction method in pre-interviews. In-depth interviews were performed individually and all the interviews were recorded. The data of teachers' views on the barriers were categorized and analyzed into external and internal factors of teachers. The study found that the external factors referred by teachers included the following; the lack of a unit time, lack of materials and equipments, too many students in a class, problems in science curriculum management, difficulty in the assessment of students' inquiry activities, the students' learning, lack of opportunities for teaching inquiry activities, harmfulness of accidents, and so on. Internal factors included the following; lack of preparation for inquiry activities, lack of self-confidence, lack of patience, and so on. The various barriers presented and their causes were analyzed in detail, and possible efforts in activating inquiry activities in elementary science education were suggested.

  • Study on Changes in Vessel Traffic Services Due to Introduction of Maritime Autonomous Surface ShipsThe development of technologies related to Maritime Autonomous Surface Ships (MASS) has been actively progressing since the mid-2010s, focusing on themes such as collision avoidance, route planning, digital twin, and communication technologies. On the other hand, research on land-based infrastructure connected with MASS, such as logistics systems, port facilities, and vessel traffic services, has relatively received less attention. This study analyzed impact of emergence of MASS on existing vessel traffic service operations and proposed changes in control operations to prepare for its impact. To do this, current vessel traffic service operations were analyzed and elements of MASS technology that could affect vessel traffic control were identified. A survey was conducted among vessel traffic controllers to identify items related to the control of MASS. Results analyzed using the AHP method showed that preparation for emergency response and communication methods with MASS were the most important. Based on this, we were able to derive detailed plans for basic MASS control procedures and emergency response procedures based on data communication within maritime traffic control areas. MASS control procedures proposed in this study are expected to be used as a solution to resolve issues related to traffic safety of MASS in coastal areas.

Investigating Key Security Factors in Smart Factory: Focusing on Priority Analysis Using AHP Method (스마트팩토리의 주요 보안요인 연구: AHP를 활용한 우선순위 분석을 중심으로)

  • With the advent of 4th industrial revolution, the manufacturing industry is converging with ICT and changing into the era of smart manufacturing. In the smart factory, all machines and facilities are connected based on ICT, and thus security should be further strengthened as it is exposed to complex security threats that were not previously recognized. To reduce the risk of security incidents and successfully implement smart factories, it is necessary to identify key security factors to be applied, taking into account the characteristics of the industrial environment of smart factories utilizing ICT. In this study, we propose a 'hierarchical classification model of security factors in smart factory' that includes terminal, network, platform/service categories and analyze the importance of security factors to be applied when developing smart factories. We conducted an assessment of importance of security factors to the groups of smart factories and security experts. In this study, the relative importance of security factors of smart factory was derived by using AHP technique, and the priority among the security factors is presented. Based on the results of this research, it contributes to building the smart factory more securely and establishing information security required in the era of smart manufacturing.

A Study on the Risk Factors for Maternal and Child Health Care Program with Emphasis on Developing the Risk Score System (모자건강관리를 위한 위험요인별 감별평점분류기준 개발에 관한 연구)

  • For the flexible and rational distribution of limited existing health resources based on measurements of individual risk, the socalled Risk Approach is being proposed by the World Health Organization as a managerial tool in maternal and child health care program. This approach, in principle, puts us under the necessity of developing a technique by which we will be able to measure the degree of risk or to discriminate the future outcomes of pregnancy on the basis of prior information obtainable at prenatal care delivery settings. Numerous recent studies have focussed on the identification of relevant risk factors as the Prior infer mation and on defining the adverse outcomes of pregnancy to be dicriminated, and also have tried on how to develope scoring system of risk factors for the quantitative assessment of the factors as the determinant of pregnancy outcomes. Once the scoring system is established the technique of classifying the patients into with normal and with adverse outcomes will be easily de veloped. The scoring system should be developed to meet the following four basic requirements. 1) Easy to construct 2) Easy to use 3) To be theoretically sound 4) To be valid In searching for a feasible methodology which will meet these requirements, the author has attempted to apply the“Likelihood Method”, one of the well known principles in statistical analysis, to develop such scoring system according to the process as follows. Step 1. Classify the patients into four groups: Group $A_1$: With adverse outcomes on fetal (neonatal) side only. Group $A_2$: With adverse outcomes on maternal side only. Group $A_3$: With adverse outcome on both maternal and fetal (neonatal) sides. Group B: With normal outcomes. Step 2. Construct the marginal tabulation on the distribution of risk factors for each group. Step 3. For the calculation of risk score, take logarithmic transformation of relative proport-ions of the distribution and round them off to integers. Step 4. Test the validity of the score chart. h total of 2, 282 maternity records registered during the period of January 1, 1982-December 31, 1982 at Ewha Womans University Hospital were used for this study and the“Questionnaire for Maternity Record for Prenatal and Intrapartum High Risk Screening”developed by the Korean Institute for Population and Health was used to rearrange the information on the records into an easy analytic form. The findings of the study are summarized as follows. 1) The risk score chart constructed on the basis of“Likelihood Method”ispresented in Table 4 in the main text. 2) From the analysis of the risk score chart it was observed that a total of 24 risk factors could be identified as having significant predicting power for the discrimination of pregnancy outcomes into four groups as defined above. They are: (1) age (2) marital status (3) age at first pregnancy (4) medical insurance (5) number of pregnancies (6) history of Cesarean sections (7). number of living child (8) history of premature infants (9) history of over weighted new born (10) history of congenital anomalies (11) history of multiple pregnancies (12) history of abnormal presentation (13) history of obstetric abnormalities (14) past illness (15) hemoglobin level (16) blood pressure (17) heart status (18) general appearance (19) edema status (20) result of abdominal examination (21) cervix status (22) pelvis status (23) chief complaints (24) Reasons for examination 3) The validity of the score chart turned out to be as follows: a) Sensitivity: Group $A_1$: 0.75 Group $A_2$: 0.78 Group $A_3$: 0.92 All combined : 0.85 b) Specificity : 0.68 4) The diagnosabilities of the“score chart”for a set of hypothetical prevalence of adverse outcomes were calculated as follows (the sensitivity“for all combined”was used).
