  • The objective of this study is to analyze domestic air passengers' preferences for selecting domestic airline company. By the analytic hierarchy process(AHP) method, we tried to measure the weight of the qualitative factors objectively and scientifically. The overall results indicate that domestic air passengers place more weight on airport service factor than other service factors for selecting domestic airline. Also, reservation/ticketing and in-flight service factors are equivalent to airport service factor. These priorities are differently shown followed by passengers' income. Therefore, airline companies need to formulate the differentiated strategy and customer-oriented marketing plan based on identified customer needs.

  • The segment of the piston type wave board has been expressed as a submerged vertical line segment in the two dimensional wave flume. Either end of vertical line segment representing wave board could be located in fluid domain from free surface to the bottom of the flume. Naturally the segment could be extended from the bottom to the free surface of the flume. It is assumed that the piston motion of the wave board could be defined by the sinusoidal oscillation in horizontal direction. Simplified analytic solution of the submerged segment of wave board has been derived through the first order perturbation method in water of finite depth. The analytic solution has been utilized in expressing the wave generated by the piston type wave board installed on the upper or lower half of the flume. The wave form derived by the analytic solution have been compared with the wave profile obtained through the CFD calculation for the either of the above cases. It is appeared that the wave length and the wave height are coincided each other between analytic solution and CFD calculation. However the wave form obtained by CFD calculations are more closer to real wave form than those from analytic calculation. It is appeared that the linear solutions could be not only superposed by segment but also integrated by finite elements without limitation. Finally it is proven that the wave generated by the oscillation of flap type wave board could be derived by integrating the wave generated by the sinusoidal motion of the finite segment of the piston type wave board.

  • Space-telescopes placed in the Sun-Earth second Lagrange point (L2) observe the sky following a scan strategy that is usually based on a spin-precession motion. Knowing which regions of the sky will be more observed by the instrument is important for the science operations and the instrument calibration. Computing sky observation parameters numerically (discretizing time and the sky) can consume large amounts of time and computational resources, especially when high resolution isrequired. This problem becomesmore critical if quantities are evaluated at detector level instead of considering the instrument entire Field of View (FoV). In previous studies, the authors have derived analytic solutions for quantities that characterize the observation of each point in the sky in terms of observation time according to the scan strategy parameters and the instrument FoV. Analytic solutions allow to obtain results faster than using numerical methods as well as capture detailed characteristics which can be overseen due to discretization limitations. The original approach is based on the analytic expression of the instrument trace over the sky. Such equations are implicit and thusrequiresthe use of numeric solversto compute the quantities. In this work, a new and simpler approach for computing one ofsuch quantities(mean observation time) is presented. The quantity is first computed for pure spin motion and then the effect of the spin axis precession is incorporated under the assumption that the precession motion is slow compared to the spin motion. In this sense, this new approach further simplifies the analytic approach, sparing the use of numeric solvers, which reduces the complexity of the implementation and the computing time.

  • For measuring a traffic symbolic confusion quantity and symbolic air pleasantness, we use fuzzy sensor algorithm maded by symbolic information quantity. But for implementation of fuzzy sensor, we use some symbolic information item, this method cannot produce precise output because we use vague fuzzy rule method and we cannot abundance fuzzy for precision of fuzzy rule method. For this reason this paper introduce new fuzzy sensor algorithm composed of not fuzzy rule method but using Analytic Hierachy Process. To prove that new method is good, two type of fuzzy sensor applied to traffic signal controller and through much passing vehicle, two fuzzy sensor compared each other.

  • This paper presents a sole application of boundary element method to the conjugate heat transfer problem of thermally developing laminar flow in a thick walled pipe when the fluid velocities are fully developed. Due to the coupled mechanism of heat conduction in the solid region and heat convection in the fluid region, two separate solutions in the solid and fluid regions are sought to match the solid-fluid interface continuity condition. In this method, the dual reciprocity boundary element method (DRBEM) with the axial direction marching scheme is used to solve the heat convection problem and the conventional boundary element method (BEM) of axisymmetric model is applied to solve the heat conduction problem. An iterative and numerically stable BEM solution algorithm is presented, which uses the coupled interface conditions explicitly instead of uncoupled conditions. Both the local convective heat transfer coefficient at solid-fluid interface and the local mean fluid temperature are initially guessed and updated as the unknown interface thermal conditions in the iterative solution procedure. Two examples imposing uniform temperature and heat flux boundary conditions are tested in thermally developing region and compared with analytic solutions where available. The benchmark test results are shown to be in good agreement with the analytic solutions for both examples with different boundary conditions.

  • Sensitivity information is required in the optimal design process. In structural optimization, sensitivity calculation is a bottleneck due to its complexities and expensiveness. Various schemes have been proposed for the calculation. Analytic and finite difference methods are the most popular at the present time. However, they have advantages and disadvantages in different ways. Semi-anayltic method has been suggested to overcome the difficulties. In spite of the excellency, the semi-analytic method has been found to possess numerical error quite much with respect to shape variables. In this research, the error from each method is evaluated and compared using a shape variable. A two-dimensional beam is selected for an example since it has mathematical solution. An efficient method is suggested for the structural optimization which utilizes finite element method.

  • This study presents about the method of alternatives selection by considering wall performance and interior design. Wall is selected fur the object and 3 items of cost, performance, and design as the objective function for optimizing are determined. Thus the wall performance selected problems, which are improvement of insulation performance, sweaty prevention, sound insulation performance and design selected problems, which is satisfactory Improvement of users about Interior design. It is important to select alternatives that can satisfy the performance and design on the capital given as much as possible. But quantitative problem such as performance or expanses and qualitative problem such as design are not in the same dimension. Therefore this problem is a multi-criteria optimization problem and also has used AHP method as the method to solve these. Moreover GA is used to solve a problem of the alternatives occurrence, which is the characteristic of multi-criteria problem. This study presents the solution method on multi-criteria problem that has been mix loaded of quantitative problem and qualitative problem by using AHP(Analytic Hierarchy Process) and GA(Genetic Algorithm).

  • Disturbance observer (DOB) has been studied extensively and applied to many motion control fields during the last decades, but relatively few studies have been devoted to the development of analytic, systematic design methods for DOB itself, This paper thus aims to provide an analytic, systematic design method for DOB. To do this, DOB is structurally analyzed and the generalized disturbance compensation framework named robust internal-loop compensator (RIC) is introduced. Through this, the inherent equivalence between DOB and RIC is found, and the mixed sensitivity optimization problem of DOB is solved. Q-filter design is completely separated from the mixed sensitivity optimization problems of DOB although the proposed method has implicit .elation with Q-filter. Also, although the Q-fille. is separately designed with sensitivity function, the proposed DOB framework has the exactly same characteristic as the original DOB.

  • There are currently several workflow software products on the market, and they vary in their capabilities and features. Since there is no single workflow product that dominates others in all aspects, it is difficult to evaluate their superiority. Few methods are available about their selection. This paper suggests a decision support method for selecting the most appropriate workflow software products using the Analytic Hierarchy Process method. We prioritize the importance of four classes of workflow applications as well as 13 commercial products.
