As most of the domestic newspaper companies are adopting CTS system, the need for automatic indexing system, which can transfer the full-text into a computer, is sharply expanding. In this research, I tried to analyse problems and prospects of the automatic indexing system through various examples and studies conducted by other analysts previously.

The cost-benefit analysis is a technique for assisting with decision about the use of society's scare resources. There exists no detailed assessment like cost-benefit analysis. But recently, many policy analysts criticized the merit of cost-benefit analysis. As it is, it can be said that partial or approximate estimates of benefit and cost may be more dangerous than helpful. The purpose of this study is to overcome the limit of traditional cost-benefit analysis. For this purpose, we use the system dynamics approach for setting up new cost-benefit analysis, which we named that ‘Dynamics Cost-Benefit Analysis'. The usefulness of ‘Dynamics Cost-Benefit Analysis' is as follows; finding structural causal relationship between cost factors and benefit factors, understanding the long-term behavior of systems economic feasibility. In this study, we apply 'Dynamic Cost-Benefit Analysis' to case that is construction investment of funeral house by local government sector.

This paper revisited the key advances on System Dynamics modeling about traditional macro-economic models and economic growth structures, and then tries to elaborate a new model based on the endogenous growth theory that incorporates new growth factors, relevant to knowledge/technology as well as the Environment, into traditional growth models. Accordingly, the new model augments the acceleration and multiplier loops and the balancing ones representing market clearing mechanism with a simple numerical example. The authors thus provides macroeconomic System Dynamics analysts with a milestone to model macro-economic structures reflecting on traditional and cutting-edge theories on sustainable economic growth and general equilibrium modeling.

A gait pattern classification method using electromyography(EMG) signal is presented. The gait pattern with four stages such as stance, heel-off, swing and heel-strike is analyzed and classified using feature parameters such as zero-crossing, integral absolute value and variance of the EMG signal. The EMG signal from Tibialis Anterior and Gastrocnemius muscles was obtained using the surface electrodes, and low-pass filtered at 10kHz. The filtered analog signal was sampled at every 0.5msec and converted to digital signal with 12-bit resolution. The obtained data is analyzed and classified in terms of feature parameters. Analysis results are given to show that the gait patterns classified by the proposed method are feasible.

In order to examine whether the difference between two point estimates of population proportions is statistically significant, data analysts use two techniques. The first is to explore the overlap between two associated confidence intervals. Second method is to test the significance which is introduced at most statistical textbooks under the common assumptions of consistency, asymptotic normality, and asymptotic independence of the estimates. Under the null hypothesis which is two population proportions are equal, the pooled estimator of population proportion is preferred as a point estimator since two independent random samples are considered to be collected from one population. Hence as an alternative method, we could obtain another confidence interval of the difference of the population proportions with using the pooled estimate. We conclude that, among three methods, the overlapped method is under-estimated, and the difference of the population proportions method is over-estimated on the basis of the proposed method.

A numerical analysis between the piston and cylinder in hydraulic piston pumps under reciprocating motion is presented. A finite difference method and the Newton-Raphson method are used simultaneously to solve the Reynolds equation in the clearance and the equation of motion for the piston. The tapered piston showed stable behaviors regardless of their initial eccentric positions in the clearance, and the reciprocating speed affect highly on the piston end trajectories. Therefore, the numerical methods and results of present study can be used in the lubrication study of other piston-cylinder type fluid machineries.

Integrating a 3D solid modeler with a general purpose FEM code, an automatic nonlinear analysis system of the 3D crack problems has been developed. A geometry model, i.e. a solid containing one or several 3D cracks is defined. Several distributions of local node density are chosen, and then automatically superposed on one another over the geometry model by using the fuzzy knowledge processing. Nodes are generated by the bucketing method, and ten-noded quadratic tetrahedral solid elements are generated by the Delaunay triangulation techniques. The complete finite element(FE) model generated, and a stress analysis is performed. In this system, burden to analysts fur introducing 3D cracks to the FE model as well as fur estimating their fracture mechanics parameters can be dramatically reduced. This paper describes the methodologies to realize such functions, and demonstrates the validity of the present system.

In optical disk drive(ODD), pickup actuator, which comprises a key part of an optical disk drive equipment. must be thin. compact, and high sensitive. Low tilt is also an important requirement for the actuator, since optical disks are to high density. This tilt occurs from around the axis parallel to the tangential and radial direction of the disk. The main reason of the moment is the coupling effect between focus driving system and tracking driving system. This paper analyzed tut quantity due to focusing and tracking force through coupled fields analysts with electromagnetic analysis and structural analysis.

The purpose of this paper is to examine sound absorption characteristics of sintered Al(aluminum) plate. Comparison between experiment and theoretical analysts by using empirical formula are made. Based on comparison. it is found that Voronina model gives more reasonable explanation for sound absorption characteristics of sintered Al plates. Effect of air gap with varying the thickness of plates are also investigated, which concludes that the air gap generally increase absorption but for too thick thickness of Al plates. Al plates with air gap shows 0.85∼0.9 of NRC(Noise Reduction Coefficient) measured in reverberation room. which is comparable to glass wool. Comparison between normal and random Incident absorption shows that random incident absorption is higher than normal incident absorption.

The trend towards forming economic blocs coupled with global economic arrangements such as DDA and FTA increase pressure on the liberalization of the agricultural sector. South Korea is taking part in the DDA negotiations. Once the DDA negotiations are implemented, the extent of liberation of the agricultural market is expected to be wider and timing of market opening is sooner than those effects of the UR agricultural agreement. A reduction in tariff rates and the government subsidy will follow, accordingly. However, many analysts in the agricultural sector express deep concern over a negative development in local agricultural market as demonstrated in China where the local market was dominated by imported agricultural products. This study aimed to investigate progress that China made in favor of the agricultural industry, including environment-friendly agricultural policy, and suggest ideas to drive the development of the agricultural industry in a better direction in Korea by comparing the two countries.
