Toward Successful Management of Vocational Rehabilitation Services for People with Disabilities: A Data Mining Approach

  • This study proposes a multi-level data analysis approach to identify both superficial and latent relationships among variables in the data set obtained from a vocational rehabilitation (VR) services program of people with significant disabilities. At the first layer, data mining and statistical predictive models are used to extract the superficial relationships between dependent and independent variables. To supplement the findings and relationships from the analysis at the first layer, association rule mining algorithms at the second layer are employed to extract additional sets of interesting associative relationships among variables. Finally, nonlinear nonparametric canonical correlation analysis (NLCCA) along with clustering algorithm is employed to identify latent nonlinear relationships. Experimental outputs validate the usefulness of the proposed approach. In particular, the identified latent relationship indicates that disability types (i.e., physical and mental) and severity (i.e., severe, most severe, not severe) have a significant impact on the levels of self-esteem and self-confidence of people with disabilities. The identified superficial and latent relationships can be used to train education program designers and policy developers to maximize the outcomes of VR training programs.

  • The purpose of this study is to find specific service quality factors of enterprises that can maximize the perception of banks' services to users of commercial banks in China, and to establish empirically how these quality factors affect the bank's image. They also want to verify the impact of the positive image of the bank on the user's satisfaction and the willingness to use the bank's services. For empirical verification of this study, questionnaires will be used to customers who have used the services of each of the four commercial banks in China, and the survey was conducted. The collected data were analyzed using the SPSS using statistical techniques such as Cronbach' ${\alpha}$, Investigative Factor Analysis, Reliability Analysis, Correlation Analysis, Regression and Difference Verification. The results of the verification were summarized below. First, the quality of service of commercial banks has a partial positive effect on the bank's image. Second, the image of a commercial bank has a positive effect on customer satisfaction. Third, the image of a commercial bank has a positive effect on the purpose of use. Fourth, the image of commercial banks has a partial mediated effect between service quality and customer satisfaction. Fifth, the image of a commercial bank has a partial mediated effect between the quality of service and its intended use.

  • We develop a business model for facade cleaning service robot system that provides service by meeting the market needs and environments. The size of the facade cleaning market is growing rapidly in recent years due to the increasing importance of indoor space and the modern trend of building construction methods. Also, maintenance of exterior appearance of buildings has become an important factor in residential and commercial facilities. Though demand for facade cleaning services is rising, the current facade cleaning services are performed dangerously in a human labor-dependent way. It is desirable that the existing human resource service should be replaced with robot-based services. In addition, quantitative analysis of rental pricing model was conducted to propose effective launch of products to the market. The robot system is economically attractive from the consumer's point of view. When the actual facade cleaning robot service is released, it is expected that verification of the business models and more accurate analysis with specific figures can be performed.

Status analysis of patients on islands and seas of Jeollanam-do (전라남도 섬과 해상에서 발생한 환자의 현황분석)

  • Purpose: By analyzing the health status of emergency patients on islands in the Jeollanam-do province, this study aims to provide basic data for proposed future medical emergency services on the islands. This information includes monthly and hourly statistics on patients' characteristics, patient frequency, an analysis of first aid procedures, response times, and time spent at hospitals. Methods: The study analyzed the monthly and hourly frequency of emergency patients, first aid status and procedures, general patient characteristics, accident types, patient cognitive status and agility, marine police response times, and frequency and percentile of hospital dispatch times. Results: 1Q and #q show the highest patient turnover rate in one year. 50.5% of daily patients are admitted between 4 PM and 12 PM. The hospital dispatch time is within a one- to two-hour window for 54.0% of all patients. Conclusion: The emergency medical service system for the Jeollanam-do province islands and seas is available to all Korean residents, citizens, and visitors. It is necessary to implement an emergency medical system for the relevant organizations.

  • The research on the health promotion effect of the elderly through the health care service has been going on for a long time, but there is insufficient research to grasp the needs of elderly people in order to effectively provide health care services. In order to solve these problems, this study suggested the direction of health care service for elderly people by analyzing regional characteristics and demand among rural areas. To this end, the direction of improvement of customized healthcare service model was suggested through the analysis of the health - related program utilization status, health management method, health care service type, and contents demand of the elderly by urban area and rural area.

  • A company's sustainable growth is a very important goal, and for this purpose, the company's business model is changing into a convergence of products and services. The purpose of PS-Offering is to maintain a long-term relationship with customers, and customer experience management is necessary for this. This study presents a service design methodology that can support customer experience management of the PS-Offering business model. The experience management portfolio analysis methodology consists of four steps: 1. Deriving service encounter through customer journey maps; 2. Identify the service structure of each service encounter in three forms (FFC, FSC, FSE). 3. Analyze the customer's emotional variables, that is, customer experience, at each service encounter, Finally, 4. After plotting the level of customer experience at the service encounter, the analysis is conducted with a customer experience management portfolio that seeks future strategic plans for this. The methodology presented in this study will help in the service design of the service encounter unit centered on customer experience. And it will improve the financial performance of the company by raising the service level of the business model.

Innovative Strategies for Community Policing in Korea: Learning from Advanced Overseas Practices

  • This study aims to explore innovative measures for community policing activities of the Korean police in the context of the newly implemented autonomous police system and the increasing demand for community-oriented policing. By conducting an in-depth analysis of advanced community policing practices in the United States, Japan, and the United Kingdom, this research identifies key characteristics such as resident participation, communication, scientific crime analysis, and customized policing services. The study reveals the need for the Korean police to establish a collaborative governance system that actively involves residents, strengthen scientific policing capabilities utilizing advanced technologies, and provide policing services tailored to local characteristics. Organizational and personnel management reforms, including the substantiation of the local police officer system and the establishment of an institutional foundation for resident participation, are proposed. Furthermore, this study emphasizes the importance of developing a creative community policing model suitable for the Korean context, rather than directly transplanting overseas practices. Continuous research and efforts to build a new policing paradigm that reflects the changing social environment and policing demands are suggested. Ultimately, the success of community policing lies in the active participation and cooperation of all members of society, including the police, government, local communities, and residents.

  • To survive in rapidly changing business environment, the enterprises of all over the world are trying to integrate their IT infra structure and are trying to automate their business process. Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) is being accepted as an IT standard to support efficient system integration and flexible business process automation between enterprises or departments. The material control system is required this software architecture between manufacturing company and materials supply vendors. This paper introduces concept of SOA, relevant technology about SOA such as Web Services and Business Process Execution Language (BPEL) and Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) and describes how to automate materials control process by designing the material control system based on SOA. The analysis of requirements is proceeded by Unified Modeling Language (UML) and SOA delivery strategy is selected the top-down strategy. And this paper describes how to derive services and operations and how to arrange services in three service layers and how to design business process.

An Empirical Analysis on the Substitutability and the Complementarity between Fixed and Mobile Telecommunication Services (유무선 통신서비스 간 상호 대체성 및 보완성에 관한 실증분석)

  • The purpose of this paper is to examine whether there are relationships of substitutability or complementarity between the call demand of fixed telecommunication and mobile telecommunication services. In order to clarify the relationships, we suggest a model of call demand of fixed telecommunication service which incorporates the variables representing the diffusion of mobile telecommunications subscription and estimate it with relevant time series data. Finally it is shown that there is complementary relationship between the call demand of fixed telecommunication and mobile paging services, and it is also found that there is substitutable relationship between the long distance call demand of fixed telecommunication and mobile phone services.
