  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the 2015 revised Science Curriculum and Environment Curriculum, and to provide implications for the correlation and complementarity between the two standards. For the analysis of the curriculum, the contents system of the two standards was reorganized based on the four categories of knowledge, attitude, inquiry, participation and practice, which are common literacy elements of science and environment, based on previous studies. Content Analysis was performed on content elements and detailed performance expectation. As a result of this study, there was a difference in terms of the core competencies and goals. The Environment Curriculum emphasized sustainable development and social participation while the Science Curriculum emphasized scientific inquiry and literacy. The contents system analysis results according to the four literacy factors are as follows. First, in terms of attitude, both standards deal with research ethics in common. However Environment Curriculum values learners' values and views on the environment more than Science Curriculum which emphasizes the science attitude as science investigators. Second, there was a serious problem in the knowledge linkage between two standards. In same grade groups, the level of content knowledge dealt in two standards was not consistent. Third, in the inquiry aspect, the Environment Curriculum deals with interdisciplinary topics in the purposefully designed inquiry unit, whereas the Science Curriculum presents various research activities based on related science concepts in every unit. Fourth, in the participation and practice aspect, the Environment Curriculum focused on participation and practice while the Science Curriculum focused on sustainable science and technology development and improvement, scientific interest and decision-making ability. This study provide implications for education for sustainable development(ESD) by providing the complementary potentials between Science Curriculum and Environment Curriculum.

  • Effective higher educational management in undergraduate nursing programs is an important issue from the viewpoint of stakeholders. This qualitative research aimed to examine the characteristics of nursing students and curriculum development of undergraduate nursing education from the opinions of Boromarajonani College of Nursing Saraburi, Thailand stakeholders. The population included 4 groups: 1) the alumni who have graduated within the past 5 years and currently work in primary, secondary, and tertiary care units, 2) the supervisors and colleagues of the alumni, 3) nursing lecturers, and 4) the current nursing students. The respondents who are the alumni, nursing lecturers, and current nursing student were selected using a purposive sampling, for the supervisors and colleagues were selected using snowball techniques. Semi-structured interview questions were used for data collection. Group discussions were conducted until saturation on 55 key informants. The qualitative data was analyzed using content analysis. Results showed the viewpoints of stakeholders on the characteristics of future nurse graduates were comprised of four elements: knowledge that meets standards; essential skills for self-development and lifelong learning process; good morals and professional ethics in providing nursing care; and nurse competencies in teamwork, communication, language, research, management, IT, life skills, and global literacy. The viewpoints on the development of the nursing curriculum focus on four elements: the learner, teaching and learning, course content, and instructor tasks. For learners, the admission criteria should include a minimum not only of knowledge, but also positive attitude, science, and art skills, since the nursing profession is both a science and the art of caring. Teaching and learning elements should be authentic, including exposure to real situations, an integrated network, and activities that improve nursing care. Course content was comprised of an updated curriculum, humanized nursing care, student center, theory and practice with moral integration, case-based study, critical thinking, multidisciplinary work, and love for the nursing profession. Instructor tasks are to elicit student ideas, provide opportunities to learn, support infrastructure, support technology use, and extra-curricular activities to develop the competencies of nursing students. Recommendations were that the curriculum administration should review the selection process of student candidates and instructional management to achieve expected outcomes of nursing characteristics in the future. The nurse lecturer should provide authentic and integrated instruction, decrease lecturing, cultivate a lifelong learning process, and sustain the nursing characteristics.

  • The purpose of this study is to compare by learner groups(K-12, geology-related majoring students, science teachers) how geologic fieldwork education cases in domestic and foreign papers for recent 20 years reflect the elements of inquiry in field geology. The total number of analyzed cases is 53(58 for double counting), and the analysis was conducted on the elements of inquiry in field geology and their sub-element. As a result, there was a clear difference between the cases of geologic fieldwork education for K-12 and college students majoring in geology-related disciplines, in the way of reflecting elements of inquiry in field geology. Because most of K-12 target fieldworks were designed based on the curriculum, it mainly included 2-3 elements of observations, representations, and/or abductive reasoning. On the other hand, because fieldworks for geology-related major students aim to train geologic experts, it diversely contained four or five of the elements of inquiry in field geology, including spatial thinking and diachronic thinking in a high proportion, and also frequently used activities that require specialized skills such as geological mapping. Fieldworks for science teachers were found to have mixed features of K-12 and geology-related major students. Considering the diversity of included inquiry elements, similarities with the activities performed by geologists, and the autonomy of learners, it was analyzed that geologic fieldwork for geology-related major students was more close to authentic geologic inquiry than fieldwork for others. Based on the results of this study, we suggested implications for improving geological fieldwork as authentic science inquiry.

  • The present study explores the effect of blended action learning program on the improvement of the self-directed learning skills of university students. For this, students in the college of education at D University located in the capital area were selected to form 30 students of the experimental group and 30 of the control group. The average age of the subjects is 22.3. They are students in the $2^{nd}$ to $4^{th}$ year of university and the demographic background is relatively homogeneous. The experiment was conducted in the Sociology of Education class (a teacher training course). The self-directed learning skills were pre-tested at the beginning of the term. After that, the experimental group had the class with blended action learning program, and the control group had the class with action learning program. The post-test was carried out at the end of the term. For data analysis, ANCOVA was carried out to compare the scores on post-test of the two groups in consideration of the scores on the pre-test. The results show that first, for the improvement of self-directed learning skills of university students, blended action learning program is more effective than action learning program. Second, in the class for learners with lower degree of cognition and experience, blended action learning program was more effective than action learning program. Third, in terms of management of learning resources and utilization of learning strategies, both action learning program and blended action learning program were not effective. In summary, for improvement of the self-directed learning skills of university students, action learning program, which is a learning method focused on learner's participation and practice, is more effective than the traditional collective lecture among diverse teaching methods. Yet in consideration of the elementary level of university students in terms of intelligence and experience, active use of blended action learning program is required.

  • The advances in science technology brought about a new form of learning called flipped-learning: a combination of on-line and off-line learning. A flipped learning is a form of blended learning which has become quite popular, nowadays, in the field of education. Despite the emphasis on the importance of medical humanities in medical education program, there are no effective teaching and learning models to realize the purpose of medical humanities education. This study explores the possibility of flipped-learning to apply medical humanities classes. The class was designed based on the ADDIE model consisting of five stages, analysis - design - development - execution - evaluation. In order to do 'flipped-learning,' the instructor reconstructs the purpose of medical humanities education, instructional purpose and content, and analyzed learner. The contents of the medical humanities class were structured considering the purpose of the introduction to the medical humanities in the medical education program and the competencies that medical personnel should have in the developed health care environment. The instructor produces a video of the lecture and makes it possible to use LMS (Learning Management System) before and after classes, and conducts discussion activities so that learner-learner and learner-teacher interaction could actively occur during the class. The result of applying medical humanities lesson as flipped learning is as follows: First, it can realize the essence of medical humanities education. Second, it contributes to strengthening the competencies of health care provider. Third, flip learning can be used as a new teaching strategy for medical humanities education. The result of this study is expected to suggest new ways of introduction to teaching method in the traditional medical humanities class and contribute to the practice of designing and doing flipped learning of medical humanities class in the future.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the current status of and suggest future improvement practices for cultural heritage education in primary school. We analyzed a primary school textbook for each of five subjects (Korean, social studies, music, art, physical education), surveyed ten teachers with cultural heritage education experience, and analyzed the results. Based on the results, we made the following five suggestions: First, the goal of cultural heritage education should be expanded to foster citizenship. Second, in cultural heritage education, it is necessary to discuss what should be included in the educational content and to organize the content systematically in connection with the student environment, local community environment, and subject content. Third, cultural heritage education should be linked with sustainable development so that cultural heritage can be passed on from the present generation to future generations. Cultural heritage has characteristics, such as universal values of humanity, that transcend national boundaries, regional identities, dialogue and understanding between civilizations, and sources of creativity, and thus serves as the foundation for sustainable development. Fourth, for the effective implementation of cultural heritage education in schools, it is necessary to develop step-by-step teacher training programs. The success or failure of cultural heritage education in schools depends on teacher training. Fifth, the degree to which cultural heritage education is integrated into the curriculum should be strengthened, allowing learners to be educated so that they can cultivate knowledge and critical thinking about cultural heritage, enjoy and protect it, and connect with a sustainable society.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate whether there is a difference in the effect of learning flow and teaching presence according to the lecturer's appearance and students' behavioral patterns in video learning. For this experiment, 183 freshmen from Xingtai University in China were selected as subjects. After being classified according to DISC, students were assigned to study the lecture videos with the appearance of the lecturer and the video without the appearance of the lecturer. After testing the level of their learning flow and teaching presence, the differences between groups were analyzed. According to the results of the analysis, the learning flow and teaching presence of groups who learned the videos in which the lecturer appeared were significantly higher than the groups who learned the videos without the appearance of the lecturer. Second, the effects of whether the lecturer appears or not according to DISC on learning flow were significant. However, the effects of DISC, and the interactive effect of DISC and the lecturer appearance were found to have no significant interactive effect on learning flow. Third, the effects of whether the lecturer appears or not according to DISC on teaching presence were significant, and the effects of DISC on teaching presence were not significant, but the interactive effect of lecturer appearance and DISC was significant. These findings suggest that lecture videos with the appearance of the lecturer generally have better effect. In particular, in order to enhance teaching presence, it is effective to decide whether the lecturer appears or not by considering its interactive effects with learners' DISC.

  • As a study of the blended learning method on design education through the blended learning method, I would like to propose that more advanced learner-led customized design education is possible. Understanding in face-to-face classes and advantages in non-face-to-face classes can be supplemented in an appropriate way in remote classes. Advanced artificial intelligence and big data technology can provide personalized and subdivided learning materials and effective learning methods tailored to learners' levels and interests based on quantified data in design classes. In this paper, it was proposed to maximize the efficiency of the class by applying a method that exceeds the limitations of time and space through the proposal of the A La Carte model (A La Carte). It is a remote class that can be heard anytime, anywhere, and it is also possible to bridge the educational quality and educational gap provided to students living in underprivileged areas. As the goal of fostering creative convergence-type future talents, it is changing with a rapid technological development speed. It is necessary to adapt to the change in learning methods in line with this. An analysis of the infographic virtual space design and construction process through the A La Carte model (A La Carte) proposal was presented. Rather than simply acquiring knowledge, it is expected that knowledge can be sorted, distinguished, learned, and easily reborn with its own knowledge.

  • The purpose of this research study was to examine how multi-cultural education contents are reflected in the contents related to the 'Human Development and Family' area of middle school Technology-Home Economics textbooks, based on the multi-cultural education criteria developed by Paek(2014). The sample of the study consisted of the 'Human Development and Family' contents in 'Technology-Home Economics 1·2' textbooks from five publishers (10 volumes) written in accordance with the 2015 revised curriculum. The research results of the study can be summarized as follows: First, all the four multi-cultural education criterion components were shown in the textbooks from five publishers. Cooperation was shown in the highest frequency, followed by Identity, Diversity, and Equality. Second, the analyses of text, image, and learning activities in the textbooks confirmed that Home Economics as a subject contains multi-cultural education contents that allow students to establish self and identity, respect others, accept diverse family patterns, understand family changes from multiple viewpoints, and form family community culture from gender equality perspective without prejudice. Ultimately, it can be concluded that Home Economics is a subject that enables learners to learn how individuals and families can cooperate and care for each other in order to harmoniously coexist.
