The Study on development of e-Learning Market through Analysis of the Type of Learning Motives : Focused on the Case of Credu (학습동기유형 분석을 통한 e러닝 시장의 개척과 확산 방안에 관한 연구 : 크레듀 사례를 중심으로)

  • The study investigated how did Credu pioneer Korean e-Learning market and reinforce their core competencies and how did they promote business diversification analyzing type of learning motives and examining Credu real cases. Under the fierce competition in the current e-Learning market, Credu has maintained their core competencies and strengthened an active communication channels with customers with focusing on investment to core businesses. Credu has introduced more adventurous and challenging products and services with creating a new model for the types of learning motives. This study could introduce the new perspective about the type of learning motives in e-Learning area. Also, the case study of successful e-Learning company, Credu, could contribute to make more spread e-Learning market techniques in this field in practice.

Effects of Flight Instructor's Communication Styles on Student Pilot's Learning Motives and Satisfactions (비행교관의 커뮤니케이션 스타일이 학생조종사의 학습동기와 학업만족에 미치는 영향)

  • This study was carried out to verify how much instructor's communication skill affects the student pilot's study motivation and satisfaction. The instructor's communication styles are classified into 3 groups by pre-analysis. Three types are cooperative type, control type and professional type. Intellectual cause, performance proficiency cause, social cause and stimulation avoidance cause are extracted and analyzed for the cause of study motivation. Cooperative and control type affected all of 4 factors of student's study motivation by influence analysis. Intellectual cause affected control and cooperative type positively, especially more to cooperative type. Performance proficiency cause also had positive influence to control and cooperative type. Stimulation avoidance cause didn't appear to affect all sub-classified 4 factors of instructor's communication type. Influence analysis of student's study satisfaction from instructor's communication style showed that independent variable affected all sub factors positively. Degree of positive influence affected the control type the most, cooperative type was the 2nd, and professional type was the 3rd.

  • Recently, in each university, the fourth industry era has begun, and a lot of programming lectures have been added to liberal arts classes in order to nurture the convergence talents needed in society. However, learners often encounter difficulties or negative responses to programming. In this study, we analyzed gender of learners in order to analyze learning motivation in programming learning. Through the pre - test, male and female students were separated and their learning motives were analyzed by each personality type. As a result of this study, we confirmed that female students can have a positive attitude toward programming learning. Also, the deviation was smaller. Future research is expected to contribute to learning motivation through lecture learning in post test.

The Effects of College Students' Motivation to Participate in Bodybuilding (Participation in Weight Training) on Behavioral Intention through Psychological Repulsion (대학생의 보디빌딩 참여하는(웨이트 트레이닝 참여) 동기가 심리적 반응을 통한 행동 의도에 미치는 영향)

  • Interest in bodybuilding, such as weight training, has increased, but research on the motivation and behavioral intention of college students is lacking. Therefore, this study aimed to examine the motives of bodybuilding participation for college students and to find out the effect on behavioral intention by mediating the psychological resistance that occurs during the bodybuilding. As for the research method, a questionnaire was conducted on 250 users through an online survey from May 30 to June 10, 2023, and a total of 232 copies were used for the final analysis. As a result of the study, first, among college students' motivation to participate in weight training, the health-oriented type and self-development type had a positive effect on voluntary acceptance. Second, among the motives for participating in weight training, the home-oriented type was found to have a negative effect on opportunistic acceptance. Finally, voluntary acceptance had a positive effect on learning outcomes, and opportunistic acceptance had a negative effect on learning outcomes. Using the results of this study, it is expected that it will be helpful to understand the factors and policies in promoting the physical health of college students.

Drinking behaviors by stress level in Korean university students

  • The purposes of this study are to estimate the stress level of university students, and to verify the relationships between stress level and drinking behavior. A questionnaire survey was administered to 430 university students in the Gangwon area in Korea from November 5 to November 28, 2008, and data from 391 students were used for the final statistical analysis. The most stressful factor was "Worry about academic achievements" (2.86 by Likert-type 4 point scale). The subjects were divided into two groups, a low stress group (${\leq}65.0$) and a high stress group (${\geq}66.0$), by the mean value (65.1) and median value (66.0) of the stress levels. The drinking frequency was not different between the two stress groups, but the amount of alcohol consumption was significantly different ($P$ < 0.05). The portion of students reporting drinking "7 glasses or over" was higher in the lower stress group than in the higher stress group. In addition, factor 6, "Lack of learning ability", was negatively correlated with drinking frequency and the amount of alcohol consumption ($P$ < 0.05), and factor 3, "Worry about academic achievements", was negatively correlated with the amount of drinking ($P$ < 0.05). The major motive for drinking was "When overjoyed or there is something to celebrate" (2.62), and the main expected effect of drinking was "Drinking enables me to get together with people and shape my sociability" (2.73). The higher stress group showed significantly higher scores on several items in the categories of motives ($P$ < 0.01), negative experience ($P$ < 0.05), and expected effects ($P$ < 0.05) of drinking than the lower stress group. Our results imply that university students at the lower stress level may drink more from social motives in positive drinking environments, while those at the higher stress level may have more problematic-drinking despite their smaller amount of alcohol consumption.

  • Online consumers browse products belonging to a particular product line or brand for purchase, or simply leave a wide range of navigation without making purchase. The research on the behavior and purchase of online consumers has been steadily progressed, and related services and applications based on behavior data of consumers have been developed in practice. In recent years, customization strategies and recommendation systems of consumers have been utilized due to the development of big data technology, and attempts are being made to optimize users' shopping experience. However, even in such an attempt, it is very unlikely that online consumers will actually be able to visit the website and switch to the purchase stage. This is because online consumers do not just visit the website to purchase products but use and browse the websites differently according to their shopping motives and purposes. Therefore, it is important to analyze various types of visits as well as visits to purchase, which is important for understanding the behaviors of online consumers. In this study, we explored the clustering analysis of session based on click stream data of e-commerce company in order to explain diversity and complexity of search behavior of online consumers and typified search behavior. For the analysis, we converted data points of more than 8 million pages units into visit units' sessions, resulting in a total of over 500,000 website visit sessions. For each visit session, 12 characteristics such as page view, duration, search diversity, and page type concentration were extracted for clustering analysis. Considering the size of the data set, we performed the analysis using the Mini-Batch K-means algorithm, which has advantages in terms of learning speed and efficiency while maintaining the clustering performance similar to that of the clustering algorithm K-means. The most optimized number of clusters was derived from four, and the differences in session unit characteristics and purchasing rates were identified for each cluster. The online consumer visits the website several times and learns about the product and decides the purchase. In order to analyze the purchasing process over several visits of the online consumer, we constructed the visiting sequence data of the consumer based on the navigation patterns in the web site derived clustering analysis. The visit sequence data includes a series of visiting sequences until one purchase is made, and the items constituting one sequence become cluster labels derived from the foregoing. We have separately established a sequence data for consumers who have made purchases and data on visits for consumers who have only explored products without making purchases during the same period of time. And then sequential pattern mining was applied to extract frequent patterns from each sequence data. The minimum support is set to 10%, and frequent patterns consist of a sequence of cluster labels. While there are common derived patterns in both sequence data, there are also frequent patterns derived only from one side of sequence data. We found that the consumers who made purchases through the comparative analysis of the extracted frequent patterns showed the visiting pattern to decide to purchase the product repeatedly while searching for the specific product. The implication of this study is that we analyze the search type of online consumers by using large - scale click stream data and analyze the patterns of them to explain the behavior of purchasing process with data-driven point. Most studies that typology of online consumers have focused on the characteristics of the type and what factors are key in distinguishing that type. In this study, we carried out an analysis to type the behavior of online consumers, and further analyzed what order the types could be organized into one another and become a series of search patterns. In addition, online retailers will be able to try to improve their purchasing conversion through marketing strategies and recommendations for various types of visit and will be able to evaluate the effect of the strategy through changes in consumers' visit patterns.
