The purpose of this paper is to examine the relation between executive excesss compensation and credit rating. According to the prior research which show the negative effects of excess compensation on a firm's future performance, this paper expects the negative effect of excess compensation on credit rating. Using a sample of Korean listed non-financial firms from 2014 to 2019, I perform the multivariate regressions analysis of excess compensation on credit rating. I find that excess compensation is negatively related to credit rating when executive compensation exceed expected executive compensation. Moreover, I find that the result is constant when a fim belongs to small-medium business. These results show that credit rating is affected by executive excess compensation and the relation could be different by the type of firm's size. Therefore, this study contributes to the literature by suggesting the possibility that capital market is aware of negative effect of executive excess compensation.

As the important breakthrough continues in the field of machine learning and artificial intelligence recently, there has been a growing interest in the analysis and the utilization of the big data which constitutes a foundation for the field. In this background, while the economic value of the data held by the corporates and public institutions is well recognized, the research on the evaluation of its economic value is still insufficient. Therefore, in this study, as a part of the economic value evaluation of the data, we have conducted the economic value measurement of the data generated through the small business guarantee program of Korean Federation of Credit Guarantee Foundations (KOREG). To this end, by examining the previous research related to the economic value measurement of the data and intangible assets at home and abroad, we established the evaluation methods and conducted the empirical analysis. For the data value measurements in this paper, we used 'cost-based approach', 'revenue-based approach', and 'market-based approach'. In order to secure the reliability of the measured result of economic values generated through each approach, we conducted expert verification with the employees. Also, we derived the major considerations and issues in regards to the economic value measurement of the data. These will be able to contribute to the empirical methods for economic value measurement of the data in the future.

Considering the network externality and spill-over effects, this paper constructs the theoretical model for analyzing the financial policies focusing on the credit guarantee system for Creative Economy, which has been set as the new policy paradigm for the Korean Economy. The analytical results show that it is as much as important to improve the efficiency of the financial markets and construct the infrastructure for reducing the information asymmetry problem which would be more serious in the creative finance. Although it is important to fill the gap due to the market failure it is also crucial to construct the appropriate financial schemes for the various stages of the innovative firms growth. Without these, the impacts of current public funding policies may crowd out the amount of private market funds for the innovative firms or reduce the possibility of commercialization of new technologies in these firms. Based on the evaluation of current related public policies from the perspectives of creative finance, we imply that the current financial policies appear to be quantity oriented not the quality based. Although the policy goals would be appropriately set for vitalizing the Creative Economy in Korea, they appear to be still unsuccessful to address the information asymmetry issue which is the major concern in vitalizing the creative economy. Thus we emphasize the market friendly policies, risk-sharing between the various market participants, revitalizing the relationship banking and efficient management of credit guarantee system in Korea based on the analytical model as well as the evaluation of related policies regarding the creative economy.
In Korea's point of view the ASEAN is geographically located near to Korea's peninsula and can supply Korea with IT products safely, it is also a significant market that we can effectively export IT products. This study analyzes ASEAN as a. strategic market, by enlarging the IT export and import, Korea's IT market excessively leaning upon the United States and Japan's market, so ASEAN is the proper market to which we can drive multilateral trade of IT market and multikinded trade of goods. In order to enhance exports of various IT products, we have to retain a good reputation and to remove revolting factors. Also, the marketing of Korea's IT export against ASEAN have to reinforce and to activate the direct investment, plant exports, and loan credit. Therefore, this study reviews Korea's IT Industry analysis to ASEAN, and finally we suggest the way to solve the main problems.

As for Korea, China is very important because of an advantageous geological accessibility and high economic dependency. Therefore, the Korean government announced its plan to establish 5billion dollars' investment from Greater China (including Hong Kong and Singapore) and the government has put much effort into accommodating more Chinese investment by diversifying investment channels from Greater China. Under this major Chinese investment boom, it is crucial to conduct in-depth research on accommodation of Chinese investment and create a plan to establish Chinese capital investment that will benefit both the investing country and the countries receiving the investment. Hence, the present study analyzed current trends in Chinese investment for the Korean market, focusing on the stimulation methodology for establishing greater investment from China. To this end, this paper examined various investment characteristics of Chinese investors for the Korean market by researching investment development levels on different time lines and analyzing Chinese investment in Korea for a variety of industries. Through the research, the following study derived a more effective strategy to accommodate greater Chinese capital investment. There has been a worldwide increase in the number of letter of credit cases involving fraud recently. It may happen that the documents which are tendered to the banks under a documentary credit are forged, altered or fraudulent. Banks assume no liability or responsibility for the form, sufficiency, accuracy, genuineness or falsification of any documents.

Purpose: This study is to analyze the changes of consumption patterns to diagnose the economic impacts on consumers' market during COVID-19, and to suggest implications to overcome the new social and economic crisis of Jeju Island. Research design, data, and methodology: We collected a set of credit card transaction records issued by BC Card Company from merchants in Jeju Special Self-Governing Province for past 4 years from 2017 to 2020 from the Jeju Data Hub run by Jeju Special Self-Governing Province. The big data contains details of approved credit card transactions including the approval numbers, amount, locations and types of merchants, time and age of users, etc. The researchers summed up amount in monthly basis, transforming big data to small data to analyze the changes of consumption before and after COVID-19. Results: Sales fell sharply in transportation industries including airlines, and overall consumption by age group decreased while the decrease in consumption among the seniors was relatively small. The sales of Yeon-dong and Yongdam-dong in Jeju City also fell significantly compared to other regions. As a result of the paired t-test of all 73 samples in Jeju City, the p-value of the mean consumption of the credit card in 2019 and 2020 is significant, statistically proven that the total consumption amount in the two years is different. Conclusions: We found there are sensitive spots that can be strategically approached based on the changes in consumption patterns by industry, region, and age although most of companies and small businesses have been hit by COVID-19. It is necessary for local companies and for the government to be focusing their support on upgrading services, in order to prevent declining sales and job instability for their employees, creating strategies to retain jobs and prevent customer churn in the face of the crisis. As Jeju Province is highly dependent on the tertiary industry, including tourism, it is suggested to create various strategies to overcome the crisis of the pandemic by constantly monitoring the sales trends of local companies.
Since previous default forecasting models for the firms evaluate the probability of default based upon the accounting data from book values, they cannot reflect the changes in markets sensitively and they seem to lack theoretical background. The market-information based models, however, not only make use of market data for the default prediction, but also have strong theoretical background like Black-Scholes (1973) option theory. So, many firms recently use such market based model as KMV to forecast their default probabilities and to manage their credit risks. Korean firms also widely use the KMV model in which default point is defined by liquid debt plus 50% of fixed debt. Since the debt structures between Korean and American firms are significantly different, Korean firms should carefully use KMV model. In this study, we empirically investigate the importance of debt structure. In particular, we find the following facts: First, in Korea, fixed debts are more important than liquid debts in accurate prediction of default. Second, the percentage of fixed debt must be less than 20% when default point is calculated for Korean firms, which is different from the KMV. These facts give Korean firms some valuable implication about default forecasting and management of credit risk.
In the context of today's business environment, not only is the nation or company's credit rating considered very important in our recent society, but it is also becoming important in international transactions. Likewise, at this point of time when the importance and reliability of credit evaluation are becoming important at home and abroad, this study analyzes financial ratios related to corporate profitability, safety, activity, financial growth, and profit growth to study the impact of financial indicators on enterprise value and corporate taxes on credit evaluation. To proceed with this, the financial ratio of 465 companies of KOSPI securities listed in 2017 was calculated and the impact of enterprise value and corporate taxes on credit evaluation was analyzed. Especially, this further study tried to derive a reliable and consistent conclusion by analyzing the financial data of KOSPI securities listed companies for eight years from 2011, which is the first year of K-IFRS introduction, to 2018. Research has shown that the significance levels among variables that show the profitability, safety, activity, financial growth, and profit growth of each financial ratio were significant at the 99% level, except for the profit growth. Validation of the research hypothesis found that while the profitability of KOSPI-listed companies significantly affects corporate value and income tax, indicators such as safety ratio and growth ratio do not significantly affect corporate value and income tax. Activity ratio resulted in significant effects on the value of enterprise value but not significant impacts on income taxes. In addition, it was found that the enterprise value has a significant effect on the company's credit and corporate income taxes, and that corporate income taxes also have a significant effect on the corporate credit evaluation, and this also shows that there is a mediating function of corporate tax. And as a result of further study, when looking at the financial ratio for eight years from 2011 to 2018, it was found that two variables, KARA and LTAX, are significant at a 1% significant level to KISC, whereas LEVE variables is not significant to KISC. The limitation of this study is that credit rating score and financial score cannot be said to be reliable indicators that investors in the capital market can normally obtain, compared to ranking criteria for corporate bonds or corporate bills directly related to capital procurement costs of enterprise. Above all, it is necessary to develop credit rating score and financial score reflecting financial indicators such as business cash flow or net assets market value and non-financial indicators such as industry growth potential or production efficiency.
The primary purpose of this study is to examine the impact of new BIS regulation, which is the preparations to incorporate not only credit risk but also market and operation risk, on the bank behaviors. As methodology, SUR(seemingly unrelated regression) and pool unit test are used in the empirical analysis of banks survived in Korea. It is employed that quarterly data of BIS capital ratio, ratio of standard and below loans to total loans, ratio of liquid assets to liquid liabilities, allowances for credit losses, real GDP, yields of corporate bonds(3years, AA) covering the period of 2000Q1~2009Q1. As a result, it could be indicated that effectiveness and promoting improvements of BIS capital regulation policy as follows; First, it is explicitly seen that weight of lending had decreased and specific gravity of international investment had increased until before BIS regulation is built up a step for revised agreement in late 2001. Second, after more strengthening of BIS standard in late 2002, banks had a tendency to decrease the adjustment of assets weighted risk through issuing of national loan that is comparatively low profitability. Also, it is implicitly sought that BIS regulation is a bit of a factor to bring about credit crunch and then has become a bit of a factor of economic stagnation. Third, as the BIS regulation became hard, it let have a effort to raise the soundness of a credit loan because of selecting good debtor based on its credit ratings. Fourth, it should be arranged that the market disciplines, the effective superintendence system and the sound environment to be able to raise enormous bank capital easily, against the credit stringency and reinforce the soundness of banks etc. in Korea capital market.
