The aim of this article was to review various methods used to evaluate the accuracy of digital dental models. When evaluating the accuracy of digital models, the errors can be reduced by educating examiners and using artificial landmarks. The accuracy evaluation methods of digital dental models are divided into linear measurement, 2-dimensional cross-sectional analysis, and 3-dimensional best fit measurement. As the technology of scanners develops, many studies have been conducted to compare the accuracy of digital impression and conventional impression. According to improvement of scan technologies and development of 3-dimensional model analysis software, the ability to evaluate the accuracy of digital models is becoming more efficient. In this article, we describe the methods for evaluating the accuracy of a digital model and investigate effective accuracy analysis methods for each situation.
After 30 years of KKP model analysis and extended 30 years of accuracy analysis, the unique correlation and various problems between measured horizontal surface insolation and measured weather data are found in this paper. The KKP model's 10yrs daily total horizontal surface insolation forecasting was averaged about 97.7% on average, and the forecasting accuracy at peak times per day was about 92.1%, which is highly applicable regardless of location and weather conditions nationwide. The daily total solar radiation forecasting accuracy of the modified KKP cloud model was 98.9%, similar to the KKP model, and 93.0% of the forecasting accuracy at the peak time per day. And the results of evaluating the accuracy of calculation for 30 years of KKP model were cloud model 107.6% and cloud model 95.1%. During the accuracy analysis evaluation, this study found that inaccuracies in measurement data of cloud cover should be clearly assessed by the Meteorological Administration.

Recently, the development of sensor technology has led to an increase in research on unmanned aerial photogrammetry in various fields such as digital mapping, monitoring, cadastral survey, coastal survey, and topographic survey. However, existing studies are mainly limited experiments and analysis of specific application field, which is insufficient to demonstrate the validity of unmanned aerial photogrammetry for geospatial information construction. In this study, the studies related to the accuracy of unmanned aerial photogrammetry were investigated. The flight altitude and accuracy of horizontal direction is proportional to the GSD by analyzing the results of the individual studies conducted on the unmanned aerial photogrammetry within the last 5 years. In addition, the accuracy of the evaluation results varied widely according to the experimental conditions, and the problems of the previous studies that lacked the number of samples to evaluate the results were identified. A total accuracy analysis of 322 checkpoints yielded an accuracy of 0.028m in the horizontal direction and 0.044m in the vertical direction. In the future, the results of this study can be used as a basis for the validity of spatial information construction using unmanned aerial photogrammetry.
A system identification method is introduced to increase the prediction accuracy of a ship's maneuverability in PMM test, analysis. To improve the accuracy of linear hydrodynamic coefficients, the analysis techniques of pure sway and yaw tests are developed, and confirmed. In the analysis of sway tests, accuracy to linear hydrodynamic coefficients depends on the frequency of sway motion. To obtain nonlinear hydrodynamic coefficients for large drift angles, a combined yaw test is introduced. Using this system identification method, runs of PMM test can be reduced while retaining sufficient accuracy, compared to the Fourier integration method. Through the comparisons with sea trial results and the Fourier integration method, the accuracy and efficiency of the newly proposed system identification method, based on least square method, has been validated.

Manufacturing process for milli components has recently gained researcher's focus with the increasing tendency toward highly integrated and micro-scaled parts for electronic devices. The milli-components cannot be formed by the conventional manufacturing process since the parts require higher dimensional accuracy than the conventional ones. In order to enhance the forming accuracy and productivity, various forming procedures proposed and studied by many researchers. In this paper, forming analysis of milli-components has been studied with a new micro-former. In modeling of progressive dies, multi-stage forming sequence has been analyzed with finite element analysis by LS-DYNA3D. The analysis proposes the sequential die and part shapes with the corresponding punch force and dimensional accuracy. The analysis also considers the effect of elastic dies on the dimensional accuracy of the formed parts. The analysis result demonstrates that the elastic analysis in the milli-forming process is indispensable fur accurate forming analysis. The analysis procedure in the paper will provide good information in design of a new micro-former and milli-component.

PURPOSE. The present study aimed to evaluate the accuracy of a desktop scanner and intraoral scanners based on the volumetric dimensions of a complete arch. MATERIALS AND METHODS. Seven reference models were fabricated based on the volumetric dimensions of complete arch (70%, 80%, 90%, 100%, 110%, 120%, and 130%). The reference models were digitized using an industrial scanner (Solutionix C500; MEDIT) for the fabrication of a computer-aided design (CAD) reference model (CRM). The reference models were digitized using three intraoral scanners (CS3600, Trios3, and i500) and one desktop scanner (E1) to fabricate a CAD test model (CTM). CRM and CTM were then superimposed using inspection software, and 3D analysis was conducted. For statistical analysis, one-way analysis of variance was used to verify the difference in accuracy based on the volumetric dimensions of the complete arch and the accuracy based on the scanners, and the differences among the groups were analyzed using the Tukey HSD test as a post-hoc test (α=.05). RESULTS. The three different scanners showed a significant difference in accuracy based on the volumetric dimensions of the complete arch (P<.05), but the desktop scanner did not show a significant difference in accuracy based on the volumetric dimensions of the complete arch (P=.808). CONCLUSION. The accuracy of the intraoral scanners was dependent on the volumetric dimensions of the complete arch, but the volumetric dimensions of the complete arch had no effect on the accuracy of the desktop scanner. Additionally, depending on the type of intraoral scanners, the accuracy differed according to the volumetric dimensions of the complete arch.

PURPOSE. This study aimed to investigate whether the accuracy of intraoral scanners is influenced by different scanning strategies in an in vitro setting, through a systematic review and meta-analysis. MATERIALS AND METHODS. This review was conducted in accordance with the PRISMA 2020 standard. The following PICOS approach was used: population, tooth impressions; intervention, the use of intraoral scanners with scanning strategies different from the manufacturer's instructions; control, the use of intraoral scanners following the manufacturers' requirements; outcome, accuracy of intraoral scanners; type of studies, in vitro. A comprehensive literature search was conducted across various databases including Embase, SciELO, PubMed, Scopus, and Web of Science. The inclusion criteria were based on in vitro studies that reported the accuracy of digital impressions using intraoral scanners. Analysis was performed using Review Manager software (version 5.3.5; Cochrane Collaboration, Copenhagen, Denmark). Global comparisons were made using a standardized mean difference based on random-effect models, with a significance level of α = 0.05. RESULTS. The meta-analysis included 15 articles. Digital impression accuracy significantly improved under dry conditions (P < 0.001). Moreover, trueness and precision were enhanced when artificial landmarks were used (P ≤ 0.02) and when an S-shaped pattern was followed (P ≤ 0.01). However, the type of light used did not have a significant impact on the accuracy of the digital intraoral scanners (P ≥ 0.16). CONCLUSION. The accuracy of digital intraoral scanners can be enhanced by employing scanning processes using artificial landmarks and digital impressions under dry conditions.

MMS (Mobile Mapping System) is being used for HD (High Definition) map construction because it enables fast and accurate data construction, and it is receiving a lot of attention. However, research on the use of MMS in the construction field is insufficient. In this study, road surveying and inspection of construction structures were performed using MMS. Through data acquisition and processing using MMS, point cloud data for the study site was created, and the accuracy was evaluated by comparing with traditional surveying methods. The accuracy analysis results showed a maximum of 0.096m, 0.091m, and 0.093m in the X, Y, and H directions, respectively. Each RMSE was 0.012m, 0.015m, and 0.006m. These result satisfy the accuracy of topographic surveying in the general survey work regulation, indicating that construction surveying using MMS is possible. In addition, a 3D model was created using the design data for the underpass road, and the inspection was performed by comparing it with the MMS data. Through inspection results, deviations in construction can be visually confirmed for the entire underground roadway. The traditional method takes 6 hours for the 4.5km section of the target area, but MMS can significantly shorten the data acquisition time to 0.5 hours. Accurate 3D data is essential data as basic data for future smart construction. With MMS, you can increase the efficiency of construction sites with fast data collection and accuracy.
