버어리종 잎담배의 건조과정중 암모니아 함량 변화

  • This study was carried out to investigate the effects of curing methods on the concentration of ammonia during curing in burley tobacco leaves. The air-cured tobacco(KB108; Nicotiana tabacum L.) was grown at Chonju Tobacco Experiment Station in 1998 and the tenth leaves from the top on the stalk were harvested. Half of the harvested leaves were cured in normal air curing facility and the other leaves were cured in excessive curing facility. Stalk cut tobaccos were cured in horizontal curing facility. The leaves were sampled every five days from harvesting time to the end of curing(25 days). Ammonia concentration of leaves increased during curing period with a remarkable increase at yellowing stage. The concentration of ammonia was high in the primed cured leaves, while that of the excessive cured leaves was low. It is considered that the lower increase of ammonia in stalk cured leaves may be caused by the translocation from the leaves to the stalk during curing, while that of excessive cured leaves may be caused by the poor decomposition of protein and amino acid during curing by excessive moisture loss and high temperature condition.

  • Rice straw treated with anhydrous ammonia and/or sulphur dioxide was incubated with rumen liquor for 24 hours and 48 hours to investigate the changes in cell wall structure caused by the treatments and bacterial degradation using scanning electron microscopy (SEM). A less significant tissue loss of untreated rice straw was inspected after incubated for 24 hours and 48 hours. Sulphuration decreased the thickness of sclerenchyma and apparently removed parenchyma tissues. Ammoniation degraded the phloem, and the lignified inner portion of the cell wall was completely, however, little collapsed epidemis and vascular bundles. Ammonia and Sulphur dioxide combined treatment removed the inner layer from outer layer. The extent of apparent degradability following combination treatment was the largest due to the enhanced microbial degradation of sclerenchyma and parenchyma cells.

  • 목질계 바이오매스인 옥수수대 전처리를 위하여 고안된 순환식 암모니아 전처리 반응기(Ammonia Circulation Reactor (ACR))를 이용하여 연구하였다. 이 전처리 방법은 적은 양의 액체를 사용하도록 고안되었으며 이 연구에선 기존의 전처리 공정보다 낮은 전처리 온도($60{\sim}80^{\circ}C$), 반응시간(4~12 hour) 그리고 고체:액체 비율(1:3~1:8) 등의 공정 조건을 실험 하여 효과를 비교하였다. 즉 여러 공정 조건에서 전처리 후 고형물의 잔류 고체량, 당, Lignin 함량, 그리고 효소당 화율 등을 측정하였다. 여러 실험 조건에서 공통적으로 관찰된 것은 전처리 조건이 더 가혹해 지면 Lignin의 제거율이 가장 큰 영향을 받았으며, 47.6~70.6% 범위로 나타났다. 반면 다른 당(Glucan, Xylan)은 손실이 비교적 작게 나타났다. 모든 실험 조건에서, 전처리된 고형물의 Glucan 손실율은 4.7~15.2% 범위로 변화가 크지 않았으며 Xylan 손실율은 여러 조건의 변화에 따라 7.4~25.8% 정도 범위로 나타났다. 암모니아 순환 전처리로 8~12 hour 동안 처리된 옥수수대는 90.1~94.5%의 높은 72-h Glucan 당화율을 (15 FPU-GC220+30 CBU)/g-glucan의 효소 투입으로 나타냈으며 순수 Cellulose인 Avicel의 당화율(92.7%)과 비슷하거나 높았다. 또한 8~12 hour 처리된 옥수수대의 초기 24-h Glucan 당화속도는 73.0~79.4%로 Avicel의 같은 시간 당화율인 69.5% 보다 높게 나타났다. 반응시간을 증가는 보다 많은 Lignin을 제거하였으며 따라서 효소 당화율 증가에 기인한 것으로 보인다.

전기 분해법을 이용한 다이아몬드 상 탄소 박막 증착에서의 암모니아수 첨가 효과 (Adding effect of ammonia solution on deposition of diamond phase carbon thin films by electrolysis method)

  • We deposited diamond phase carbon thin films on Si substrate by the electrolysis of methanol solution. A little amount of ammonia solution was added to increase the current density of the electrolyte. We analyzed films by XRD and SEM. The chemical change of electrolyte during the electrolysis process was characterized by FTIR. We obtained better quality diamond phase carbon films at a lower applying boltage(300V) and temperature ($40^{\circ}C$) by adding ammonia solution to methanol electrolyte. Diamond (111), (220), (311) peaks were shown distinctively in XRD graph. Addition of ammonia solution resulted in lowering the applying bias voltage to 300V and the substrate temperature to $40^{\circ}C$ still maintaining a high current density at 80mA/$\textrm{cm}^2$, which prohibited a great loss of solution from vaporization. Possible change of chemical reaction due to the addition of ammonia solution was also discussed.

  • We have experienced a case of lung injury caused by accidental inhalation of ammonia gas in a 34 year-old-man. By the explosion of ammonia tank in a refrigerator boat he inhaled ammonia gas. Several minutes later, he suffered from severe dyspnea and visual loss. On arrival at emergency room, analysis of arterial blood gas revealed severe hypoxemia and his chest film showed bilateral pulmonary infiltrates. Under the impression of adult respiratory distress syndrome, mechanical ventilator was applied to the patient. After recovery from ARDS and tracheal edema, he complained of some hemoptysis and productive sputum during the admission. So we checked bronchoscopy and bronchograpy which showed tracheal bullae just above carina and tubular bronchiectatic change in the right lower lobe. We report a case of lung injuries-ARDS, tracheal bullae, and bronchiectasis-caused by inhalation of ammonia gas with the review of the relevant literatures.

극전환 전해 반응기를 이용한 양식 폐수 내 암모니아 제거 (Removal of Ammonia in Aquaculture Wastewater by Electrolysis with Switching Poles)

  • 본 연구에서는 양식 폐수 중 암모니아를 제거하는 전기분해 공정에 극전환을 도입하여 전극 표면에 불용성 금속화합물이 형성되는 오염 현상을 방지하고자 하였다. 한편 극전환으로 인한 전류 손실이 유리염소 이온의 생성에 미치는 영향을 파악함으로서 최적의 극전환 주기를 찾고자 하였다. 먼저 극전환 주기가 짧아지면서 전류손실로 인해 유리염소 이온의 형성 효율이 떨어지는 것을 확인하였으며 이는 암모니아 제거 효율이 감소함을 의미한다. 이에 극전환 주기에 따른 폐수 중의 칼슘과 마그네슘의 농도를 측정해 본 결과 극전환 주기를 60초 이하로 유지하면 극전환에 의한 불용성 금속화합물의 분해를 통해 전극 표면의 오염 현상을 충분한 수준에서 방지할 수 있음을 확인하였다. 따라서 높은 유리염소 이온의 생성효율 유지와 전극 오염 방지라는 두 가지 운전목적 사이에서 최적의 극전환 주기는 60초이었다.

밭 토양에서 돈분 퇴비 시용방법에 따른 암모니아 휘산량 평가 (Evaluation of Ammonia Emission Following Application Techniques of Pig Manure Compost in Upland Soil)

  • 대기중으로 휘산되는 대부분의 암모니아는 농경지에서 시용하는 가축분뇨 퇴비와 질소비료에서 유래한다. 본 연구는 밭 토양에서 돈분 퇴비 시용방법에 따른 암모니아 휘산량을 소형원드터널 방법을 이용해서 정량적으로 평가하였다. 돈분 퇴비(20 Mg/ha) 표층살포(SA), 표층살포 후 즉시 경운(IRA), 표층 살포 3일 후 경운(RA-3d) 처리의 13일 동안 암모니아 휘산량은 각각 28.7, 8.7, 24.3 kg N/ha로 IRA 처리구는 SA 처리구에 비해 70% 저감효과를 가져왔다. 그리고 SA 처리구의 퇴비 처리 후 24시간 이내 휘산된 암모니아 양은 총 휘산량의 61%로 대부분의 암모니아는 시용 초기 짧은 시간 내에 휘산됨을 알 수 있었다. 석회와 퇴비 혼용시용 후 교반(L+C mix), 퇴비표층 살포 3일후 석회시용 교반(C+L3D), 석회시용 3일 후 퇴비시용 교반(L+C3D) 처리구의 22일 동안 총 암모니아 휘산량은 각각 40.1, 31.4, 27.7 kg/ha이었다. 따라서 가축분 퇴비 시용시 석회를 혼용하는 것은 피해야 하며, 만일 동일 작기내 시용이 불가피할 경우는 퇴비시용에 앞서 석회를 먼저 충분한 일수를 앞두고 시용하는 것이 암모니아 휘산량을 저감시킬 수 있다는 결론을 얻었다.

질소비료의 심층시비에 의한 논과 밭 토양의 암모니아 배출 억제 효과 (Reducing the Effect of Ammonia Emissions from Paddy and Upland Soil with Deep Placement of Nitrogen Fertilizers)

  • BACKGROUND: Ammonia gas emitted from nitrogen fertilizers applied in agricultural land is an environmental pollutant that catalyzes the formation of fine particulate matter (PM2.5). A significant portion (12-18%) of nitrogen fertilizer input for crop cultivation is emitted to the atmosphere as ammonia gas, a loss form of nitrogen fertilizer in agricultural land. The widely practiced method for fertilizer use in agricultural fields involves spraying the fertilizers on the surface of farmlands and mixing those with the soils through such means as rotary work. To test the potential reduction of ammonia emission by nitrogen fertilizers from the soil surface, we have added N, P, and K at 2 g each to the glass greenhouse soil, and the ammonia emission was analyzed. METHODS AND RESULTS: The treatment consisted of non-fertilization, surface spray (conventional fertilization), and soil depth spray at 10, 15, 20, 25, and 30 cm. Ammonia was collected using a self-manufactured vertical wind tunnel chamber, and it was quantified by the indophenol-blue method. As a result of analyzing ammonia emission after fertilizer treatments by soil depth, ammonia was emitted by the surface spray treatment immediately after spraying the fertilizer in the paddy soil, with no ammonia emission occurring at a soil depth of 10 cm to 30 cm. In the upland soil, ammonia was emitted by the surface spray treatment after 2 days of treatment, and there was no ammonia emission at a soil depth of 15 cm to 30 cm. Lettuce and Chinese cabbage treated with fertilizer at depths of 20 cm and 30 cm showed increases of fresh weight and nutrient and potassium contents. CONCLUSION(S): In conclusion, rather than the current fertilization method of spraying and mixing the fertilizers on the soil surface, deep placement of the nitrogen fertilizer in the soil at 10 cm or more in paddy fields and 15 cm or more in upland fields was considered as a better fertilization method to reduce ammonia emission.

  • 이리듐 촉매의 국산화 개발과정에서 고온/고압으로 인한 촉매파손, 유실, 소결현상 등이 관찰되었고, 이렇게 손상된 촉매대로 인하여 추력기의 성능이 저하된다고 보고되었다. 이에 본 논문의 연구에서는 촉매대를 1차원 다공질성 매질로 가정, 모델링하여 수치해석코드를 개발하였다. 개발된 수치해석코드는 실험데이터와 비교하여 검증하였으며, 촉매유실에 의해 변하게 되는 촉매대의 공극률을 변화시켜 다양한 경우의 촉매유실을 가정하여 해석을 수행하였다. 이를 통하여 촉매유실이 하이드라진과 암모니아의 분해반응에 끼치는 영향을 연구하였다.

Piggery Slurry Composting Using Batch Operating Autothermal Thermophilic Aerobic Digestion System

  • The performance of an autothermal thermophilic aerobic digestion (ATAD) system was studied to determine if nitrogen loss, as ammonia, was affected by an exhaust gas condenser. The system was run with and without a condenser while treating $8m^3$ of piggery slurry for 8 days. The system with a condenser (SWC) maintained the reactor temperatures above $40^{\circ}C$ for 2 days during the 8 days run, while the system without a condenser (SWOC) remained above $40^{\circ}C$ for 6 days. The SWC maintained the reactor temperatures mostly at mesophilic conditions while the SWOC at thermophilc conditions. Differences in operation conditions for the two runs were mainly caused by differences in atmospheric temperatures. Soluble chemical oxygen demand (SCOD) and volatile solids (VS) removal efficiencies of the SWC (SCOD: 62%, VS: 41%) were higher than those of the SWOC (SCOD: 40%, VS: 20%). The total Kjeldal nitrogen (TKN) removal efficiency of the SWC (7%) was less than that of the SWOC (25%). The concentration of total volatile fatty acids (VFA) in the SWC was observed to be lower than the threshold value of 0.23 g total VFA/L after 6 days, while the SWOC progressed below the threshold value after 3 days. No offensive odor emissions were observed in either run, which suggest that the use of the ATAD system may be a good odor removal strategy.
