  • This study, a sub-one of comprehensive research work titled under "A Evaluation System of Amenity / Disamenity Elements in Rural Villages", tried to propose a rational methodology for development of rating tabulation for evaluation of amenity / disamenity elements in rural villages. The system developed in the study has the formalized rating grades between 2 and 5 for convenience/simplification of analysis work. For each evaluation element in the lowest order of the system, 5 types of rating technique were arranged, which were based on statistical analysis using mean and standard deviation values, its existence or not, relative significance of its holding volume and quality, synthesized weight scale of its quality and quantity, and the others. And, standardized 4-steps procedure for rating tabulation was proposed. Finally, through case studies of 4 sample villages representing the flat-plain, upland, seashore and periurban rural areas, the applicability of this rating tabulation system was verified.

  • Rural tourism is primarily a domestic tourism activity with visitors traveling to non-urban area. Therefore, local agricultural and special products as one of rural amenity resources have been used revisitation carriers of rural tourism. For these purpose, this study selected Cheongsong-gun in Gyeongsang province, which has been famous for Cheongsong apple and planned space program on that sites as on-farm research. The sites are divided into 6 districts, agricultural production, leisure, cultural space, events or festival, green space, infrastructure for local residents and tourists. Above all, this study led local government to develop related policies using local agricultural and special products, which can be an example to plan for regional development.

  • This study aims to suggest a rural village development policy considering tourists' stay pattern and villages' resources which can be infrastructure for green-tourism. For this purpose, a relationship table between amenity resources and the stay pattern was developed as a guide line to combine a set of several facilities for village renewal. The amenity resources system was classified into three sub-classes(social, industrial, and natural/cultural/historical resources) and a relationship diagram between three classes and tourists' behavior was also defined. The table and diagram can be applied to make renewal plan for rural villages.

  • This study was carried out aiming to provide information and enhance the satisfaction of real-time smartphones users on Rural Amenity Resources Information Services. For this purpose, domestic and international discussions and surveys on technology developments and expert analysis smartphone technology were reviewed. And empirical data were collected from 600 people through structured questionnaires including smart-phone experience, smartphone usage behavior, the required content, service items, service quality, Through this information, the content of rural amenity resources, how to take advantage of smart phones. Service Plan and developed, and a rural village locations to target mobile phone technology, the content was established. Through the preference analysis of the collected data, we designed the contents of rural amenity resources information based on smart-phone. It will be helpful to enhance the interchange between urban and rural such as farmer's market and rural tourism.

  • This study strengthens importance of farm land has possessed rurality. Thus the amenities of farm village were offered to the symbolical attributes of rurality and it was extracted four amenities attributes for valuing the amenities. Possessing the importance of rurality for agricultural and rural development and rural tourism evaluated each attribute by Choice Experiment(CE) for sustainable development make full use of rurality. Applying for Conditional-Logit model estimated the value of attributes then consumer's benefit feeling form each attributes was offered to the value of a unit change. Through this study, I wish to apply for the direction of rural development as important material and the compensation in the operation of agricultural output offering social benefit as political reference materials.

  • The purpose of this study is to assess the urban amenity on physical environmental factors, and to verify the effectiveness of the amenity map using correlation analysis of the environmental quality. The physical environmental factors were set to 4 items of green space, landscape, water environment and land use, and the items were composed of 11 detail factors. Based on the factors, GIS maps were constructed and the amenity map was produced using overlay analysis. The results of this study are as follow; the proportion of 1~2 ranks was 40.8% of total area around Dalseong-gun, Dong-gu, Suseong-gu. The lower 6~7 ranks in the amenity assessment was 5.7% of total area around Jung-gu, Seo-gu, Dalseo-gu. According to the results of correlation analysis between the amenity and environmental observed data, $SO_2$ among the air pollution material had a negative correlation with amenity(r=-0.649, p<0.05). In case of water pollution, TN and TP had the negative correlations with amenity (r=-0.643, P<0.01; r=0.642, p<0.01).

  • The purpose of this study is to verify and carry out action plan and issues on how local amenity can be revealed through rural village planning and design especially in the local resources such as nature, history, culture. Especially, this lead to macro view of the rural village plan i.e. related to rural identity and space planning via estimating the local resources. According to this study will plan of 4 phrase steps 1. Analyse nature, environment, human sociology environment, space etc., and comprehensive analysis 2. compare the results of estimation and find the planing factors after that set the planning process 3. plan and create to rural community i.e. considering harmony with space function, environmental circumstance, landscape etc, 4. suggest the rural community action plan by considering amenity attributes.

  • Rural landscape is essential resources to reinvigorate rural tourism and local economy. The objective of this study is to apply the methodology that can assess landscapes of many rural villages based on the data of Rural Amenity Resource Survey. Above all, to make the data of rural amenity resources survey appropriate for landscape assessment, that was reclassified into 4 landscape resource and 12 lower items. Secondly, 4 evaluation standards of rural landscape; weight of landscape resources, weight of lower items, evaluation of lower items as the number, and evaluation of management condition was established by questionnaire survey. Thirdly, the evaluation standards was applied to case study area; Jug-Goc Myeon, Goc-Seong county, Jeollanamdo. Finally, this result was compared with the other result that management condition was not included in, and the villages that were urgent to improve management condition were selected. As a result, water resource and management condition have great effects on the total quality of rural landscape. Therefore, there are many villages that have peat potentials although that indicates low quality of landscape, now.

  • Previous research for visual assessment of streetscape employed static simulation methods to represent future landscape. However, streetscape is experienced sequentially, and thus dynamic simulations can be more effective. This study tried to adopt computer animation in the evaluation of streetscape, and examined its effects and possibilities. Three development scenarios for the redevelopment districts of Sokong-Ro and Banpo-Ro in Seoul were designed, and simulations were produced by three methods-photo-retouching, computer still image, and animation. A preference questionnaire was asked to 69 university students, and the effects of simulation methods on visual preference were examined. In addition, the frames of the animation were reclassed to identify the visibility of physical elements. The relationships between the visibility and visual preference were analyzed. The results showed that visual preference can be explained by three factors-Amenity, Tidiness, and Variousness-that account for 62.4% of the total variance, and the Amenity showed the highest proportion: 36.0%. Among the three simulation methods, animation showed the largest difference in preference for the most important factor(Amenity), and yielded the highest correlation between visibility of physical elements and Amenity. This result demonstrated that dynamic simulations can provide more accurate observation of visual changes, especially because the simulated landscape is experienced sequentially. The results also revealed that the sequential change in the visibility of physical elements can be examined easily and precisely by animation. This benefit of animation enables analysts to identify the points where the landscape varies the most, and thus visual preference should be evaluated.
