Purpose - With the increasing uncertainty of China's domestic political and economic environment in recent years, Korean MNC subsidiaries in the Chinese market face greater challenges and competition. Based on the insufficiency of existing research and the need for enterprise management practices, this paper uses the Chinese subsidiaries of Korean MNCs as an example to study and explore how knowledge management and dynamic capabilities affect ambidextrous innovation and the relationship between ambidextrous innovation and subsidiary performance. Design/methodology - From January to March 2019, this study collected 341 valid questionnaires using a survey company specializing in China for the members of the Chinese subsidiaries of Korean MNCs to verify the hypotheses. Using the collected data, the study model was verified using the Smart PLS 3.0 statistical package. Findings - Knowledge transfer and knowledge sharing have positive effects on dynamic capabilities and ambidextrous innovation, and dynamic capabilities have a positive impact on ambidextrous innovation. Ambidextrous innovation has been shown to have a significant effect on subsidiary performance. In addition, a partial mediating effect of dynamic capabilities on the relationship between knowledge management and ambidexterity innovation was found. Originality/value - In the academic context, this paper contributes theoretically to the relationship between knowledge management and ambidextrous innovation, as well as the mechanism of dynamic capability, and to verify the relationship between ambidextrous innovation and corporate performance. Against the background of MNC management, the results of this study provide further enlightenment for managers of subsidiaries.

Recently, creative innovation has become a major topic in management innovation and due to this, various researches on its need and methodologies are being performed. According to previous studies on ambidexterity, explorative innovation is closer to divergent and right-sided brain, while exploitative innovation is closer to convergent and left-sided brain. Topic was to identify preceding element which affects Ambidextrous Innovation. For this topic, 129 Six Sigma projects from 19 different companies were collected. Ambidextrous index from preceding studies was used. This index represents the degree of ambidextrous activation and can be calculated by multiplying cumulative usage of exploitative tools with that of explorative tools. In the project characteristics, simple linear regression result showed leadership degree, team's vitalization degree and leader capability degree have effect in positive direction.

본 연구는 중소기업 종사자를 중심으로 양면적혁신활동을 매개변수로 하여 기업의 동적역량이 기업성과에 미치는 영향에 관하여 분석하였다. 동적역량의 하위변수를 기회탐색역량, 자원획득역량 및 자원재구성역량으로 구분하였다. 수도권에 거주하는 중소기업 종사자들로부터 수집한 설문지 282부를 실증분석에 사용하였다. SPSS v22.0과 Process macro v3.4를 사용하여 병렬다중매개모형을 기반으로 분석하였다. 분석결과 첫째, 기회탐색역량과 자원획득역량이 양면적혁신활동에 정(+)의 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났고 자원재구성역량이 양면적혁신활동에 미치는 영향은 유의하지 않은 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 양면적혁신활동이 기업성과에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 기회탐색역량과 자원획득역량이 기업성과에 정(+)의 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났고 자원재구성역량과 기업성과 간의 인과관계는 없는 것으로 나타났다. 넷째, 양면적혁신활동은 기회탐색역량과 기업성과 간을 매개하는 것으로 나타났다. 다섯째, 양면적혁신활동은 자원획득역량과 기업성과 간을 매개하는 것으로 나타났다. 여섯째, 양면적혁신활동은 자원재구성역량과 기업성과 간을 매개하지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 후속 연구로는 본 연구에서 사용된 매개변수 외에 제 3의 매개변수 발굴과 이를 통한 직렬매개모형 분석과 조절변수가 동시에 포함된 조건부과정 모형을 도입하여 조절된 매개분석을 위한 연구가 필요할 것으로 여겨진다.

Established and new companies face similar business challenges in achieving performance and competitiveness. Furthermore, several empirical studies using competitive advantage resource-based view theory show that established companies achieve performance and competitiveness with breakthrough innovations. Similarly, new business ventures with limited resources must incorporate breakthrough innovations to achieve performance and competitiveness. Therefore, this study aimed to examine the impact of ambidextrous innovation on new venture performance and competitiveness. It used an online survey to collect data from 178 newly established shipping agency companies in 22 provinces in Indonesia. Data was analyzed using multivariate analysis with WarpPLS 7.0, where the analysis unit was an organization represented by a director. The results showed that ambidextrous innovation positively and significantly affects firm performance and new venture competitiveness. This means that ambidextrous innovation that emphasizes adaptation and development improves the firm's internal business processes, even with limited resources. Moreover, it increases new ventures' competitiveness in responding to threats and taking advantage of market opportunities. These results contribute to the competitive advantage resource-based view theory, specifically for new venture empirical examination. Also, they contribute to practical implications in the transportation business, demonstrating that exploitative breakthrough innovation can improve new venture competitiveness and performance.

최근 빠른 기술과 시장의 변화에 대응하여, 기업의 생존과 성장을 위한 동태적 역량의 하나로 기업의 양면성 조직 특성에 대한 중요성이 강조되고 있다. 빠른 환경변화에도 불구하고 지속적으로 높은 성과를 보이고 있는 기업은 신제품 기술개발역량 측면에서 기존 제품의 점진적 혁신을 통한 활용적 역량과 함께 새로운 시장 및 기술에 대한 탐험적 역량 둘 모두를 구축하고 균형을 갖는 양면성 조직의 특성을 갖는다. 본 연구는 기술혁신 중소기업이 양면성 조직을 구축 및 운영하는 이유와 방법, 기업의 생존과 성과에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 외부 환경변화에 따른 기업의 내부적 기술혁신전략과 기업성장단계가 양면성 조직 특성과 성과에 영향을 미친다. 양면성 조직 특성은 구조, 맥락, 리더십 관점으로 접근하였으며, 연구 분석을 위해 제품의 산업적 특성을 달리하는 3개 중소기업에 대해 다중사례분석을 수행하였다. 종단적 분석을 통해, 제품의 산업적 특성과 환경 변화에 대응하는 기업의 기술혁신전략 유형에 따라 양면성 조직의 구축 및 운영의 해법이 다르며, 구조, 맥락, 리더십 관점의 양면성 조직 특성이 상호 보완적으로 작용하였다. 또한, 양면성 조직 특성이 중소기업의 생존과 성과에 중요한 특성임을 확인하였다.

양면적 혁신이란 탐색과 활용의 모순된 두 가지 속성을 동시에 추구할 수 있는 조직의 혁신 능력이며, 이를 확보하게 되면 보다 우월한 성과를 거둘 수 있다는 것이 양면성 가설이다. 본 연구의 목적은 조직학습 및 혁신 분야 문헌들에 근거하여 일반적으로 가정되어 왔던 양면성 혁신과 기업성과간의 관계를 실증하는 데에 있다. 구체적으로 본 연구는 1994년에서 2009년 사이에 제작된 714편의 한국 TV 드라마 제작 프로젝트를 바탕으로 도출된 57명의 제작자를 표본으로 하여 드라마 제작자의 양면적 혁신전략이 드라마 성과에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 실증분석 결과, 새로운 장르를 시도하는 탐색적 장르 혁신과 기존 성공 장르를 반복하는 활용적 장르 혁신의 상호작용 효과가 성과에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타나 설정된 '양면성' 가설이 지지되었다. 이러한 결과는 문화산업과 같이 불확실성이 높은 환경에서 장기적인 성과를 담보하기 위해서는 새로운 기회의 탐색과 기존 지식의 활용을 동시에 모두 추구하는 혁신 행동이 요구됨을 시사하고 있다.

A new business venture faces intense competition in a dynamic environment. To survive, new business ventures and established companies both need to generate creativity and significant new ventures to be highly competitive and have high levels of performance. In this study, we examined new business ventures that determined their competitiveness and performance generated from entrepreneurial creativity and mediated by ambidextrous innovation. This research used survey data collected from 143 Indonesian's new business shipping agencies, which was collected using an online survey and analyzed through structural equation modeling. The results showed that entrepreneurial creativity in new business ventures is positively associated with competitive advantage but not significant to create a competitive advantage. In contrast, entrepreneurial creativity is positively associated with firm performance. This result indicates that efforts to generate entrepreneurial creativity are not sufficient to create a competitive advantage despite having a significant influence on firm performance. However, entrepreneurial creativity is significantly and positively associated with firm performance and competitive advantage when mediated by ambidextrous innovation. The findings of this study suggest that the competitive advantage of a new business venture in facing intense competition in a dynamic environment condition can be overcome by generating strategic action in the form of entrepreneurial creativity and ambidextrous innovation.

A firm's competitive advantage generating from empowering its dynamic capabilities is very important for established companies and new business ventures in facing intense competition and in responding to unanticipated environmental changes. This study aims to investigate the relationship between dynamic capabilities of a new business venture and its competitive advantage and the effect of entrepreneurial creativity and ambidextrous innovation mediation on the relationship between dynamic capabilities and the competitive advantage of a new business venture. Data was collected using an online survey from 143 new Indonesian shipping agency companies that spread over two-thirds of Indonesia's territory and was analyzed using structural equations modeling (SEM). The results showed that the dynamic capabilities of new business ventures are positively associated with competitive advantage but not significantly. This result indicates that empowering a new business venture's dynamic capability is not sufficient to generate a competitive advantage. However, a new business venture's dynamic capability is significantly and positively associated with the competitive advantage when mediated by entrepreneurial creativity and ambidextrous innovation. The findings of this study suggest that the competitive advantage of a new business venture can be gained from empowering a firm's dynamic capabilities through mediating entrepreneurial creativity and ambidextrous innovation in facing intense competition and in responding to unanticipated environmental changes.

Global financial crisis at 2008 bring about the great change to the company itself and its environment. In these days, the company needs change to the ambidextrous organization, which have more efficiency processes also have more attractive products and services. Ambidextrous organization purse exploiting and exploration innovation program. For the existing process's incremental and rapid improvement, the exploiting innovation programs are used such as 6 Sigma program and so on. For the new business model's searching and developments, the exploration innovation programs are used such as blue ocean program and brainstorming and so on. In this paper is presented the new procedures, for the new business model development, combining exploration and exploiting innovation programs. To obtain the creative business ideas, various exploration methodologies are adopted based on 6 Sigma's methodology, The new procedures are applied to the venture company and examined its validity.

국내외 시장 환경의 변화가 심화되고 제품의 수명주기가 짧아지는 시대적인 변화를 감안할 때, 차별적인 기술혁신역량을 확보하는 것은 기업의 생존을 결정짓는 매우 중요한 요인이 된다. 본 연구에서는 중소기업의기술혁신의 성과를 단기적측면의 기술혁신성과와 장기적측면의 기술혁신 양면성으로 구분하여, 이러한 성과에 영향을 미치는 동적역량의 매개효과를 연구하고자 한다. 실증분석을 위해 국내 전기, 전자, IT, 바이오 등 연구개발을 수반하는 업종의 중소기업 219개를 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였고, 동적역량이 기술혁신성과와 탐험적 혁신과 활용적 혁신을 포함하는 기술혁신 양면성의 매개효과 검증을 위해 병렬다중매개분석을 수행하였다. 본 연구를 통해 국내 중소기업의 다차원적 특성이 동적역량 결정과정에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지를 확인하고, 성공적인 기술혁신을 위한 기업의 동적역량 관리 방안에 대한 시사점을 제시함으로써 동적역량에 대한 이해를 높이고 국내 중소기업 경영자들의 실무에 도움을 주고자 한다.
