  • Recently, environmental pollution by livestock excretion is gathering strength as livestock industry is advanced on a large scale. Bio-gas is generated more than about 70 precent if remove impurities in the course of extracting bio-gas to use livestock excretion. In this paper, we developed a device that can use it in heating after extracting bio-gas from livestock excretion collected in livestock farmhouse and can supply electricity by using generator developed in itself. Also, because this system is epoch-making no discharge system to solve smear of existing method, it is expected that we have effects to prevent environmental pollution and get alternation energy and burden on the institution to treat livestock excretion of a pig breeder is solved, if use it.

  • Korean passive verbs are derived from their corresponding active verbs by suffixation or by adding endings and auxiliaries to their stems. Therefore. we assume p passive verbs share some lexical informations with their active counterparts. This paper extending the Generative Lexicon theory of Pustejovsky (995). aims to characterize the argument realization patterns of Korean passive verbs focusing on the case alternation a and to propose their lexical semantic structures which account for the syntactic behavior.

  • Argument alternation in English sentences such as "load hay onto the truck" vs. "load the truck with are swarming in the garden" vs. "The garden swarms with bees" present an interesting dilemma for ling in several ways. Along with each kind of syntactic rearrangement of arguments goes a subtle but sig systematic change in the verb's meaning. This has been called as different terminology such as "D "Verbal diathesis", and most commonly as "Argument alternation". Dowty adopts tern Agent-subject(A-subject) form and Location-subject(L-subject) form in referring the two kinds of analyses as well as describes their different properties. In this paper. I basically follow assumption while surveying several 1inguists's analysis and show its theoretical adequacy.

  • The present research investigates the acquisition of the English locative alternation by Korean EFL learners, which poses a learnability paradox, taking Pinker's framework of learnability theory as its basis. It addresses two questions (1) how lexical knowledge is represented initially and at different levels of interlanguage development and (2) what kinds of difficulty Korean learners find in the acquisition of English locative verbs and their constructions. Three groups of learners at different proficiency levels with a control group of English native speakers are examined by two instruments: elicited production task and grammaticality judgment task. According to different levels of proficiency, the learners exhibit gradual sensitivity to a change-of-state meaning and obtain complete perception of the meanings of locative verbs (manner-of-motion and change-of-state) and their constructions. Overgeneralization errors are observed in their performance. The errors are due to misinterpretations of particular lexical items in conjunction with the universal linking rules. More fundamental cause of difficulty is accounted for by partial use of learning mechanisms, caused by insufficient L2 input.

  • In this paper we present a method of circular arc approximation by quartic B$\acute{e}$zier curve. Our quartic approximation method has a smaller error than previous quartic approximation methods due to the alternation of the error function of our quartic approximation. Our method yields a closed form of error so that subdivision algorithm is available, and curvature-continuous quartic spline under the subdivision of circular arc with equal-length until error is less than tolerance. We illustrate our method by some numerical examples.

  • This study aims to discuss the word sense distinction of Korean middle verbs for restructuring KorLexVerb 1.0. Despite the duality of its meaning and syntactic structure, the word senses of middle verb are not clearly distinguished in current dictionaries. The underspecification causes very often mismatches that a same Korean word sense is used for two different English verb senses. A close examination on the syntactic and semantic properties of middle verb shows us that the word sense distinction and the reconstruction of hierarchical structure are indispensable. Finally, by doing this fine grained word sense distinction, we propose an alternative way of classification and description of the verb polysemy for KorLexVerb 1.0 as well as for dictionary-like language resources.

  • Goals of this study are to analyze various types of facility disposition which is brought out in the facility space plan of the modernized elementary school which has been founded and conducted by Seoul city, and most of all, to grasp the space propriety through understanding the peculiarity of the plan by the space analysis form. To proceed this study, I will divide it to three steps; 1. First step : Research into the space alternation of an (Korean) elementary school which has been gotten changed by the alternation of an elementary school. 2. Second step : Research into the efficient studying-space of a modernized elementary school by contemplating analysis of cases which comes from the literature research, collecting related data, and making an on-the-spot survey

  • In this paper, a new Open and Closed Loop Alternation(OCLA) frequency synthesizer is developed to eliminate a frequency error occurring in the transition state of a frequency hopping. This frequency synthesizer consists of a phase comparator(PC), two low pass filters(LPF), two voltage controlled oscillators(VCO), switching elements, a programmable divider and frequency hopping controller, and the stabilized output frequency can be obtained by switching performance. In addigion, it can be found that the characteristic of its circuit construction makes it easy to attach an external circuitry to the open loop.

  • This paper investigates syntactic variations in English such as Dative Alternation, Particle Inversion, and Object Postposition (Heavy NP Shift) within the framework of Optimality Theory, and shows that the same set of morphological, informational, and processing constraints affect all these variations. In particular, it shows that the variants that used to be regarded as ungrammatical are in fact used fairly often in reality, especially when processing or informational conditions are met, and therefore, grammatical judgment may not be always categorical but sometimes gradient. It is argued that the notion of distance in constraint ranking in stochastic OT can effectively explain the gradience and variability of grammaticality in the variation phenomena.
