The effects of pulse current parameters on the composition and the microstructure of Pd-Ni alloy electrodeposits were studied. The cathode current efficiency of p.c. electrolysis conditions decreased with increasing both mean and peak current density and was lower than those under D.C. electrolysis condition. Palladium content of Pd-Ni alloy increased with increasing both peak current density and on-time, while it decreased with increasing mean current density and duty cycle. The preferred orientation of Pd-Ni alloys changed with increasing mean current density in the sequence of (111)+(110).(100) or (110)longrightarrow(111)longrightarrow(100) or random distribution of crystal structure. The surface morphology of Pd-Ni alloy changed mainly according to the mean current density and was related to the preferred orientation.
The E.M.F of the galvanic cell with fused salt was measured to determine the activities of zinc at 700-820K over the entire composition range of liquid Zn-Cd alloys. The cell used was as follows: (-) W | Zn(pure) $Zn^{2+}(KCI-LiCl)$ | Zn(in Zn-Cd alloy) | W (+) The activities of zinc in the alloys showed positive deviation from Raoult's law over the entire composition range. The activity of cadmium and some thermodynamic functions such as Gibbs free energy, enthalpy, entropy were derived from the results by the thermodynamic relationship. The comparison of the results and the literature data was made. The liquid Zn-Cd alloy is found to be close to the regular solution. The concentration fluctuations in long wavelength limit, $S_{cc}(o)$, in the liquid alloy was calculated from the results.
The effects of alloying element and grain refinement on the tensile properties of magnesium alloy poured into sand mold were investigated. The strength of magnesium alloy was greatly increased by the addition of aluminium and that was increased with the increased aluminum content added up to 8.10 wt% and decreased beyond that. Even though the strength of Mg-8.10 wt%Al alloy was rather decreased by the addition of zinc, that was increased with increased zinc content added up to 0.50 wt% and decreased with the increased one beyond that. The maximum tensile strength was obtained with 0.50 wt%Mn added. The strength and elongation were simultaneously increased with grain refinement and the optimum amount of strontium addition for this was 0.30 wt%. The optimum chemical composition was obtained and the yield strength, tensile strength and elongation of the alloy with this composition were 90.2, 176.3MPa and 4.43%, respectively.

CdSxSe1-x ternary alloy nanowires (x = 0, 0.5, 1.0) were fabricated by in-situ synthesis on interdigitated electrode. Morphology analysis of the alloy nanowires according to the synthesis zone and composition analysis of the nanowires were carried out by SEM and EDX. The crystal structures of the alloy nanowires were studied by XRD analysis. The I-V characteristics of the nanowire photosensors were analyzed according to the intensity of incident light. The influence of zonal synthesis position on the photosensor response to the wavelength of incident light was also analyzed, and was found to be related to the bandgap of alloy nanowires. The analysis results indicate that photosensors with a specific photoresponse could be selected based on the composition of the source materials of nanowires as well as by controlling the in-situ synthesis zone.

Both Cu-Cr and Cu-Ti alloy films with different composition were prepared by dc magnetron sputtering onto polyimide substrate and their adhesion and microstructure were observed. In addition, the effect of heat treatment at $400^{\circ}C$ for 2 hours on the variation of adhesion properties and on the changess of microstructure were investigated. Cu-Cr alloy films have crystalline structure of either for or bcc phase depending on the composition of the film. However, the Cu-Ti alloy film forms fcc phase at low Ti concentration while it forms an amorphous phase as the Ti concentration in the films is increased to more than 25at.%. TEM analysis reveal that the microstructure of Cu-Cr and Cu-Ti films forms an open structure with vacant spaces. The adhesion between Cu-Cr, Cu-Ti alloy films and polyimide substrate is relatively good before the heat treatment, but is noticeably reduced after the heat treatment. In particular, the adhesion strength is significantly reduced in the Cu-Ti alloy films after the heat treatment. The reduction of adhesion strength after the heat treatment is identified to relate with the formation of oxide phases at the metal/polyimide interface by AES(Auger Electron Spectroscopy).
Metal additive manufacturing (AM) has transformed conventional manufacturing processes by offering unprecedented opportunities for design innovation, reduced lead times, and cost-effective production. Aluminum alloy, a material used in metal 3D printing, is a representative lightweight structural material known for its high specific strength and corrosion resistance. Consequently, there is an increasing demand for 3D printed aluminum alloy components across industries, including aerospace, transportation, and consumer goods. To meet this demand, research on alloys and process conditions that satisfy the specific requirement of each industry is necessary. However, 3D printing processes exhibit different behaviors of alloy elements owing to rapid thermal dynamics, making it challenging to predict the microstructure and properties. In this study, we gathered published data on the relationship between alloy composition, processing conditions, and properties. Furthermore, we conducted a sensitivity analysis on the effects of the process variables on the density and hardness of aluminum alloys used in additive manufacturing.

'Jikjisimcheyocheal (Jikji afterwards)' is known as a first book printed by the metal type in the world. The metal type used for printing this book has not been found yet. To help for replicating the original metal type, it is required to investigate the composition analysis of the copied metal type. In this study, the composition analysis and thermodynamic care for replicating of ancient metal type was performed on the basis of an analytical reports concerned with the ancient metal type which made after Jikji printing. Metal types were made by remelting and casting of the mother alloy which came from a cast of a mixed metals in accordance with the composition revealed in the literatures. Change of composition during remelting of mother alloy and casting of metal was detected by the EDS analysis. The reasons for variation in composition were discussed by metallurgical and thermodynamic point of view, and a mixing ratio of metals to get the original composition of ancient metal type is suggested. Some attention should be paid on mixing, melting and casting of metals to get an objected composition for copy of ancient metal type.

The purpose of this research was to study the influence of machining characteristics for aluminum alloys. The effect of metallic microstructural variables on the measures of machinability of aluminum alloys has no been adequately investigated. Machining Characteristics are influenced significantly by mechanical characteristics, composition and structure of material etcs. For improvement of machining characteristics, various studies are reported. In this paper, composition elements add to aluminum alloys within the limit of sustaining mechanical characteristics of metallic material. We have analyzed dynamic characteristics of cutting resistance, tensile strength value, hardness value etcs.
