This work introduces a fault diagnosis method for transformer based on self-powered radio frequency identification (RFID) sensor tag and improved Hilbert-Huang transform (HHT). Consisted by RFID tag chip, power management circuit, MCU and accelerometer, the developed RFID sensor tag is used to acquire and wirelessly transmit the vibration signal. A customized power management including solar panel, low dropout (LDO) voltage regulator, supercapacitor and corresponding charging circuit is presented to guarantee constant DC power for the sensor tag. An improved band restricted empirical mode decomposition (BREMD) which is optimized by quantum-behaved particle swarm optimization (QPSO) algorithm is proposed to deal with the raw vibration signal. Compared with traditional methods, this improved BREMD method shows great superiority in reducing mode aliasing. Then, a promising fault diagnosis approach on the basis of Hilbert marginal spectrum variations is brought up. The measured results show that the presented power management circuit can generate 2.5V DC voltage for the rest of the sensor tag. The developed sensor tag can achieve a reliable communication distance of 17.8m in the test environment. Furthermore, the measurement results indicate the promising performance of fault diagnosis for transformer.

The tile-based rendering technique which divides the screen area into tiles of a specific size and creates a 3D graphic model of one tile at a time is used to efficiently utilize limited resources in a 3D graphic pipeline. In this paper, the tiling speed of tile-based rendering was improved by reducing the count of calling lower-levels in the hierarchical tile-based rendering technique. The tiling speed of the proposed Rasterizer is 13.030ms which is 56% faster than 29.614ms of multi-sort tiling and 24% faster than 17.208ms of the conventional hierarchical tiling technique.

Electronic warfare systems are needed to be advantageous in the modern war. Many radar threat signals with various frequency spectrums and complicated techniques exist. For detecting the threats, a receiver with wide and narrow-band digital processing is needed. To process a wide-band searching mode, a polyphase filter bank has become the architecture of choice to efficiently detect threats. A polyphase N-path filter aligns the re-sampled time series in each path, and a discrete Fourier transform aligns phase and separates the sub-channel baseband aliases. Multiple threats and CW are detected or rejected when the signals are received in different sub-channels. And also, to process a narrow-band precision mode, a direct down converter is needed to reduce aliasing by using a decimation filter. These digital logics are designed in a FPGA. This paper shows how to design and develop a wide and narrow-band digital receiver that is capable to detect the threats.

In this paper, we theoretically analyzed the self-alignment/navigation performance in the accelerometer resonance state generated by dither motion of ring laser gyroscope in LINS and verified it through simulation. As a result of analysis, it is confirmed that the amplitude of the accelerometer measurement amplified in the accelerometer resonance state is decreased in the process of sampling per the navigation calculation period and that frequency is changed by the aliasing effect too. It was also analysed that the attitude error in self-alignment is determined by the amplitude/frequency of the accelerometer measurement, the gain of the self-alignment loop, and the velocity and position error in the navigation is determined by the amplitude/frequency/phase error of the accelerometer measurement. This analysis and simulation results show that the self-alignment and navigation performance is not be degraded only when the amplification factor of the accelerometer measurement in the accelerometer resonance state is 3 or less
Many methods which represent complex surfaces using height map without a number of vertex have been researched. However, a single layer height map cannot present more complex objects because it has only one height value on each position. In this paper, we introduce the new approach to render more complex objects, which are not generated by single layer height map, using multi layer height map. We store height values of the scene to each texture channel by the ascending order. A pair of ordered height values composes a geometry block and we use this property. For accurate ray search, we store the highest value in odd channels and the lowest value in even channels to generate quad tree height map. Our ray search algorithm shows accurate intersections between viewing ray and height values using quad tree height map. We solve aliasing problems on grazing angles occurred in previous methods and render the result scene on real-time.
In medical visualization, volume visualization is widely used. Applying 3D images to diagnose requires high resolution and accurately implement visualization techniques are being researched accordingly. However, when a three-dimensional image volume visualization is implemented using volume data, aliasing will occur since using discrete data. Supersampling method, getting lots of samples, is used to reduce artifacts. One of the supersampling methods is Catmull-rom spline. This method calculates accurate interpolation value because it is easy to compute and pass through control points. But, Catmull-rom spline method occurs overshoot or undershoot in large gradient of pixel values. So, interpolated values are different from original signal. In this paper, we propose an adaptive adjusting weights interpolation method using Gaussian function. Proposed method shows that overshoot is reduced on the point has a large gradient and PSNR is higher than other interpolated image results.

Current computer education is difficult to educate basic concepts and principals of the computer science because the 7th curriculum of computer education is focused on the application of software. According to the ACM K-12 report about the computer science education model, current computer education is taking the wrong way and we should put the highly priority on the education of the fundamentals through programming languages for a better computer education oriented to the computer science. This paper introduces a new object-oriented educational programming language "Dolittle". The design principals of Dolittle are simple syntax of Korean, incremental programming, text based programming, aliasing of function, and object-oriented programming. Being applied to middle school classes, we can confirm that Dolittle is easy to learn, and gives rise to high interest and keeps interest through a course, and also is of great practical use in class for programming novice.

The pressure fluctuation on the surface of a submerged body has been recognized as a dominant noise source. There have been many studies concerning the flow induced noise on a flat plate. However, the noise over an axisymmetric body has not been well reported. This paper addresses the way in which we have investigated the mechanism of noise generation due to an axisymmetric body. The associated experiments and signal processing methods are introduced. A 3-dimensional axisymmetric body whose length and diameter were 2 m and 10.4 cm, was prepared as a test specimen. The wall pressure on the surface of the body was measured in a large scale low noise wind tunnel at KIMM(Korea Institute of Machinery and Metals). To measure the wall pressure, we used two microphone arrays which were tangential and normal to the flow. Based on the measured signal, frequency-wavenumber spectrum which explains the structure of turbulence noise, was estimated. Tangential to the flow, there exists convective ridge at a relatively higher wavenumber region; this can cause spatial aliasing. To circumvent this problem, the cross spectrum was interpolated. The interpolation has been performed by unwrapping the phase and smoothing the cross spectrum. The phase unwrapping was done based on the Corcos model; the phase of cross spectrum decreases linearly with the distance between microphones. Aforementioned signal processings are possible by employing the experimental results that the estimated wavenumber spectrum quite resembles the Corcos model. We try to modify the Corcos model which is applicable to the flat plate, by altering the magnitude of cross spectrum to fit the experimental data more accurately. We proposed that this wavenumber spectrum model is suitable for the 3-dimensional axisymmetric body. Normal to the flow, there exists a little correlation between signals of different microphones. The circumferential wavenumber spectrum contains uniform power along the wavenumbers.

The demand for high-resolution images is gradually increasing, whereas many imaging systems have been designed to allow a certain level of aliasing during image acquisition. Thus, digital image processing approaches have recently been investigated to reconstruct a high-resolution image from aliased low-resolution images. However, since the sub-pixel motion information is assumed to be accurate in most conventional approaches, the satisfactory high-resolution image cannot be obtained when the sub-pixel motion information is inaccurate. Therefore, in this paper we propose a new algorithm to reduce the distortion in the reconstructed high-resolution image due to the inaccuracy of sub-pixel motion information. For this purpose, we analyze the effect of inaccurate sub-pixel motion information on a high-resolution image reconstruction, and model it as zero-mean additive Gaussian errors added respectively to each low-resolution image. To reduce the distortion we apply the modified multi-channel image deconvolution approach to the problem. The validity of the proposed algorithm is both theoretically and experimentally demonstrated in this paper.

Recently, noise has been regarded as one of the most notorious and frequent environmental pollutions which can be often encountered not only in the living space but also in the industrial site. Studies on physiological and psychological effects of long-term noise exposure to human being have commanded the public interest on noise issues. Since environmental noises such as traffic noise and construction noise is mainly flowed through the open window, it is necessary to develop the active noise control system to reduce it inside the building. Although control speakers and microphones for the noise signal measurement in the control region are essential for the conventional active noise control methods, it is impossible to implement them in the control region in the building environment because the control region is the living quarter and they may hinder activities of the residents. Therefore, we proposed the active window system to reduce the exterior noise flowed through the open window with microphones installed outside the window and control speakers installed at the frame of the window. To confirm the performance of the proposed active window, we carried out the simulation and experiment using active window system with 8 control speakers. Simulation results showed the noticeable noise reduction effect inside the control region within the frequency range without the spatial aliasing. Experimental result showed that the total acoustic potential energy inside the room of the scale model is reduced to about 10dB within the interest of frequency range.
