  • There are many research for efficient, robust and invisible watermarking system that protects the digital contents like a image and animation according to growth of IT industry. First of all, frequency domain watermarking system like DWT(Descrete Wavelet Transform) is excellent because of minimum loss of original image and robustness of external attack. But, if we raise the insertion strength of watermark, then blazing of image occurs on existing DWT watermarking system and we should have a regular square image. In this study, we research the overflow check for preventing image from blazing and a robust and invisible watermarking algorithm. And we research a free-size DWT watermarking system using padding bytes, without a dependency of size.

  • This paper studies a collision detection technique to dealing with moving polyhedra. Even though the problem is well-studied in computer graphics, the existing methods are inapplicable to highly dynamic environments. We use the GJK algorithm to determine collisions between convex objects. Also, our method is applied for moving objects.

  • This paper presents a method of detecting motion isometry from the motions of two objects in a three-dimensional space. We define the motion isometry based on the group theory and a newly defined coordinate system. Motion isometry can be detected using the coordinate system which we call Motion Specific Coordinate System(MSCS). In addition, we present an algorithm if two motions are isometric using the coordinate system. The algorithm can detect the difference in the motions of objects irrespective of their positions or the directions of their motions in a space. The algorithm can also detect the motion difference in the case of segmented objects which have several joints. The motion quantity is represented by translation values or rotation angles about some axes.

  • The purpose of this paper is two-fold: 1) A novel algorithm in order to extract lane-related information from road images is presented; 2) Design specifications of an image processing onboard unit capable of extracting lanerelated information in real-time is also presented. Obtaining precise information from road images requires many features due to the effects of noise that eventually leads to long processing time. By exploiting a FPGA and DSP, we solve the problem of real-time processing. Due to the fact that image processing of road images relies largely on edge features, the FPGA is adopted in the hardware design. The schematic configuration of the FPGA is optimized in order to perform 3 $\times$ 3 Sobel edge extraction. The DSP carries out high-level image processing of recognition, decision, estimation, etc. The proposed algorithm uses edge features to define an Edge Distribution Function (EDF), which is a histogram of edge magnitude with respect to the edge orientation angle. The EDF enables the edge-related information and lane-related to be connected. The performance of the proposed system is verified through the extraction of lane-related information. The experimental results show the robustness of the proposed algorithm and a processing speed of more than 25 frames per second, which is considered quite successful.

  • In correspondence to the educational demand on study of computer principles that is recently being focused, this study promotes basic understanding on data structure and algorithm at the elementary student level through the process of simple numerical expressions and proposes effective education contents and methods. For this, an unplugged type computer education material was produced to understand the method of the computers for receiving data through activities. Also, we proposed students to create animation data to learn numerical expressions and algorithm through arrangements and linked lists. To examine educational effectiveness of this study, an experiment study was conducted through the education content and method to the subject of one class in the fifth-grade of elementary school located in OO metropolitan city. As a result, the student learned that there is a difference in calculation method between computers and people; and this enabled basic understanding on algorithm and data structure and presented positive responses to algorithm and data structure. In conclusion, it is confirmed that it is possible to provide effective education for students if the principle study of algorithm is proposed to proper levels.

  • This paper proposes an algorithm for Facial Characteristic Point(FCP) extraction. The FCP plays an important role in expression representation for face animation, avatar mimic or facial expression recognition. Conventional algorithms extract the FCP with an expensive motion capture device or by using markers, which give an inconvenience or a psychological load to experimental person. However, the proposed algorithm solves the problems by using only image processing. For the efficient FCP extraction, we analyze and improve the conventional algorithms detecting facial components, which are basis of the FCP extraction.

  • Two cameras which function like human eyes, are needed to make 3D stereoscopic image. That is, stereoscopic image is made via 3 dimensional image processing for combining two images from left and right camera. In this paper two high resolution zoom cameras are used to make HD resolution stereoscopic camera. And the algorithm which convert to stereoscopic image from HD resolution zoom camera image, is implemented using FPGA for real-time operation. The algorithm which measure the depth of object between left and right image is proposed.

  • This paper introduces an algorithm for computing similarity between two poses in the motion capture data with different scale of skeleton, different number of joints and different joint names. The proposed algorithm first performs the topological analysis on the skeleton hierarchy for classifying the joints into more meaningful groups. The global joints positions of each joint group then are aggregated into a point cloud. The number of joints and their positions are automatically adjusted in this process. Once we have two point clouds, the algorithm finds an optimal 2D transform matrix that transforms one point cloud to the other as closely as possible. Then, the similarity can be obtained by summing up all distance values between two points clouds after applying the 2D transform matrix. After some experiment, we found that the proposed algorithm is able to compute the similarity between two poses regardless of their scale, joint name and the number of joints.

  • A corpus-based lip sync algorithm for synthesizing natural face animation is proposed in this paper. To get the lip parameters, some marks were attached some marks to the speaker's face, and the marks' positions were extracted with some Image processing methods. Also, the spoken utterances were labeled with HTK and prosodic information (duration, pitch and intensity) were analyzed. An audio-visual corpus was constructed by combining the speech and image information. The basic unit used in our approach is syllable unit. Based on this Audio-visual corpus, lip information represented by mark's positions was synthesized. That is. the best syllable units are selected from the audio-visual corpus and each visual information of selected syllable units are concatenated. There are two processes to obtain the best units. One is to select the N-best candidates for each syllable. The other is to select the best smooth unit sequences, which is done by Viterbi decoding algorithm. For these process, the two distance proposed between syllable units. They are a phonetic environment distance measure and a prosody distance measure. Computer simulation results showed that our proposed algorithm had good performances. Especially, it was shown that pitch and intensity information is also important as like duration information in lip sync.

  • It is difficult to reuse the captured motion data, because the data has a difficulty in editing it. In this paper, a uniform posture mar (UPM) algorithm, one of unsupervised learning neural network is proposed to edit the captured motion data. Because it needs much less computational cost than other motion editing algorithms, it is adequate to apply in teal-time applications. The UPM algorithm prevents from generating an unreal posture in learning phase. It not only makes more realistic motion curves, but also contributes to making more natural motions. Above of all, it complements the weakness of the existing algorithm where the calculation quantity increases in proportion to increase the number of restricted condition to solve the problems of high order articulated body. In this paper, it is shown two applications as a visible the application instance of UPM algorithm. One is a motion transition editing system, the other is a inductive inverse kinematics system. This method could be applied to produce 3D character animation based on key frame method, 3D game, and virtual reality, etc.
