Maze Solving Algorithm

  • Path finding and path planning is crucial in today's world where time is an extremely valuable element. It is easy to plan the optimum path to a destination if provided a map but the same cannot be said for an unknown and unexplored environment. It will surely be exhaustive to search and explore for paths to reach the destination, not to mention planning for the optimum path. This is very much similar to finding for an exit of a maze. A very popular competition designed to tackle the maze solving ability of autonomous called Micromouse will be used as a guideline for us to design our maze. There are numerous ways one can think of to solve a maze such as Dijkstra's algorithm, flood fill algorithm, modified flood fill algorithm, partition-central algorithm [1], and potential maze solving algorithm [2]. We will analyze these algorithms from various aspects such as maze solving ability, computational complexity, and also feasibility to be implemented.

극동 아세아 컨테이너 항만의 능력평가에 관한 연구 (A Study on Evaluating the Ability of the Competitive Container Ports in Far-East Asia)

  • The rapid progress of the intermodal freight transportation in recent years has induced fierce competition among the adjacent hub ports for container transport. This brings increased attention to the evaluation of the port competitive ability. But it is not easy to evaluate the port competitive ability because this belongs to ill-defined system which is composed of ambiguous interacting attributes. Paying attention to this point, this paper deals the competitive ability of container port in Far-East Asia by fuzzy integral evaluation which is adequate to interacting ambiguous attribute problem. For this, the proposed fuzzy evaluation algorithm is applied to the real problem, based on the factors such as cargo volumes, costs, services, infrastructure and geographical sites These are extracted from the precedent study of port competitive ability, etc. The results show that the port evaluation factors come in following order ; services, costs, infrastructure, geographical sites and cargo volumes. There are some interactions(interaction coefficient, ${\lambda}=-0.664$ between evaluation attributes. The port competitive ability comes in following order : Singapore, Hongkong, Kobe, Kaoshiung and Busan. According to the sensitivity analysis, the rank between Busan and Kaoshiung changes when ${\lambda}=0.7$. From the analysis of the results, we confirmed that the proposed fuzzy evaluation algorithm is very effective in the complex-fuzzy problem which is composed of hierarchical structure with interacting attributes.

Power Quality Disturbances Identification Method Based on Novel Hybrid Kernel Function

  • A hybrid kernel function of support vector machine is proposed to improve the classification performance of power quality disturbances. The kernel function mathematical model of support vector machine directly affects the classification performance. Different types of kernel functions have different generalization ability and learning ability. The single kernel function cannot have better ability both in learning and generalization. To overcome this problem, we propose a hybrid kernel function that is composed of two single kernel functions to improve both the ability in generation and learning. In simulations, we respectively used the single and multiple power quality disturbances to test classification performance of support vector machine algorithm with the proposed hybrid kernel function. Compared with other support vector machine algorithms, the improved support vector machine algorithm has better performance for the classification of power quality signals with single and multiple disturbances.

  • 이 논문은 high order statistics 에 기반을 둔 자력복구 알고리듬과 판정-LMS 를 조합하는 자력복구 적응 채널등화기를 제안한다. 저 신뢰도 신호에 대하여 적응을 멈추는 기존의 "Stop-and-Go" 알고리듬과는 달리 제안된 알고리듬은 저 신뢰도 신호에 대하여 자력복구 알고리듬 적응을 이용하기에 "Run-and-Go"라고 명명하였으며 판정-LMS의 최소 MSE 성능과 자력복구 알고리듬의 신호 획득능력의 시너지 효과를 가진다. 제안된 알고리듬은 신뢰도 구간을 신호의 질에 따라 자동설정 함으로 수렴 속도와 신호 획득 능력을 각각 개선한다.

A Design of a Variable Interval Sensing Scheme for the Sensor Networks

  • In this paper, we propose a new energy efficient scheme which can prolong the life of sensor networks, it should be able to reduce the number of sensing. We use the concept of safe zone for manage the appropriate range of properties. We measure the distance between the sensed temperature value and the center of the zone, and calculate the next sensing interval based on this distance. We name our proposed scheme "VIS". To assess the performance of the proposed scheme the actual temperature data was collected using the sensor node. The algorithm was implemented through the programming and was evaluated in a variety of settings. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm is to significantly reduce the number of sensing in terms of energy efficiency while having the ability to know the state of the sensor nodes periodically. Our VIS algorithm can be useful in applications which will require the ability of control to the temperature within a proper range.

  • 군집 로봇시스템에서 개개의 로봇은 스스로 주위의 환경과 자신의 상태를 스스로 판단하여 행동하고, 필요에 따라서는 다른 로봇과 협조를 통하여 임의의 주어진 임무를 수행할 수 있어야 한다. 따라서 각 로봇 개체는 동적으로 변화하는 환경에 잘 적응할 수 있도록 하기 위한 학습 및 진화능력을 갖는 것이 필수적이다. 이를 위하여 본 논문에서는 Q-learning 알고리즘을 기반으로 하는 학습과 Harmony Search 알고리즘을 이용한 진화방법을 제안하였으며, 유전 알고리즘이 아닌 Harmony Search 알고리즘을 제안함으로써 정확도를 높이고자 하였다. 그 결과를 이용하여 군집 로봇의 로봇 개체 환경변화에 따른 임무 수행 능력의 향상을 검증한다.

  • 지식정보사회에 대처하기 위해서는 상황에 맞는 해결방법과 아이디어로 문제를 해결할 수 있도록 창의력, 문제해결력, 논리적 사고력과 같은 고등인지 사고능력을 길러야 하며, 이는 프로그래밍 교육을 통해서 가능하다. 그러나 현재의 프로그래밍 교육은 문법에 대한 기계적 암기나 프로그래밍 언어의 사용법을 익히는데 치중하여 학습자의 인지부담이 크며, 논리적 사고력을 기르는데 적합한 방법이 되지 못하고 있다. 본 연구는 중학생을 대상으로 하여 스크래치(Scratch)를 활용한 프로그래밍 수업의 알고리즘 표현 과정에서 순서도 학습이 논리적 사고력에 미치는 영향을 살펴보았다. 그 결과 중학생의 프로그래밍 교육에서 순서도 작성을 통해 알고리즘을 표현하였을 경우 성취도 및 논리적 사고력이 향상에 유의미한 차이가 발생하였다.
