SEXTIC MOMENT PROBLEMS ON 3 PARALLEL LINES

  • Sextic moment problems with an infinite algebraic variety are still widely open. We study the problem with a single cubic column relation associated to 3 parallel lines in which the variety is infinite. It turns out that this specific column relation has a strong connection with moment problems that have a symmetric algebraic variety. We present more concrete solutions to some sextic moment problems with a symmetric variety.

  • We assume that the existence and termination conjecture for flips holds. A complex projective manifold is said to be of almost general type if the intersection number of the canonical divisor with every very general curve is strictly positive. Let f be an algebraic fiber space from X to Y. Then the manifold X is of almost general type if every very general fiber F and the base space Y of f are of almost general type.

  • This paper considers a stochastic discrete algebraic Riccati equation, which is a generalized version of the well-known standard discrete algebraic Riccati equation, and has additional linear terms. Under controllability, observability and the assumption that the additional terms are not too large, the existence of a positive definite solution is guaranteed. It is shown that it arises in optimal control of a linear discrete-time system with multiplicative White noise and quadratic cost. A numerical example is given.

  • The flow around a ship is complex, especially, at the stern region of a full ship, where highly curved streamlines, hook-shaped iso-velocity contours, and strong secondary flow exist. To resolve this complex flow, an Algebraic Stress Model(ASM) is applied. The calculations are performed for the HSVA Tanker. The results are improved comparing with those of standard k-ε turbulence model, but still show a little difference from the experiments.

  • Algebraic spectral subspaces and admissible operators were introduced by K. B. Laursen and M. M. Neumann in 1988 [L88], [N]. These concepts are useful in automatic continuity problems of intertwining linear operators on Banach spaces. In this paper we characterize the algebraic spectral subspaces of generalized scalar operators. From this characterization we show that generalized scalar operators are admissible. Also we show that doubly power bounded operators are generalized scalar. And using the spectral capacity we show that a generalized scalar operator is decomposable. Then we give an example of an operator which is not admissible but decomposable.

  • In this article, we establish some new second main theorems for meromorphic mappings of ℂm into ℙn(ℂ), in which the truncated counting functions have different weights. As for application, we deal with the algebraic dependence problem of meromorphic mappings sharing moving hyperplanes in general position.

  • This paper deals with an algebraic approach for unknown inputs observer by using Haar functions. In the algebraic UIO(unknown input observer) design procedure, coordinate transformation method is adopted to derive the reduced order dynamic system which is decoupled unknown inputs and Haar function and its integral operational matrix is applied to avoid additional differentiation of system outputs.
