유한요소해석을 통한 Steel-Al합금 SPR 접합공정 주요인자 분석 (Parametric Study of Steel-Al Alloy SPR Joint Process via Finite Element Analysis)

  • The parametric study of Steel-Al alloy SPR joint process is based on the FE simulation described by Kim et al. [10], which was validated by comparing experimental and simulation results for two kinds of steel-Al alloy combinations according to the lower sheet thickness. To analyze the SPR joint process, the friction coefficient, the lower sheet thickness, and the rivet length were selected as the main parameters. Based on FE simulations, the effect of main parameters was investigated by measuring the interlock and the bottom thickness at the cross-sectional shape of the SPR joint. The results of simulation facilitate the design of SPR joint process in various metal combinations.

Exploring and Discussing the Link between Integrated Leadership in the Public Sector and Follower Happiness: the Case of South Korea

  • This study tests the applicability of concepts of integrated leadership-in-government and follower happiness in South Korea and then comes up with implication and limitations on the applicability based on the study of Mathias et al. (2018). The study adopts eight leaderships: accountability, rule-following, political loyalty, network governance, task-oriented, relations-oriented, change-oriented and diversity-oriented leadership that Mathias et al. (2018) employ from Fernandez et al. (2010) and Tummers and Knies (2016). We also select job satisfaction and self-perceived performance to measure follower happiness depending on Mathias et al. (2018). According to the analytical results, it shows that accountability leadership, network governance leadership, task-oriented leadership, relations-oriented leadership, and change-oriented leadership have positive influences on follower happiness measured. Based on the analytical results, this study suggests implication and limitation on the applicability of the link between integrated leadership and follower happiness in comparison to the results from Mathias et al. (2018).

Effect of Al Doping Concentration on Resistance Switching Behavior of Sputtered Al-doped MgOx Films

  • In this study, we investigated that the resistance switching characteristics of Al-doped MgOx films with increasing Al doping concentration and increasing film thickness. The Al-doped MgOx based ReRAM devices with a TiN/Al-doped MgOx/Pt/Ti/SiO2 were fabricated on Si substrates. The 5 nm, 10 nm, and 15 nm thick Al-doped MgOx films were deposited by reactive dc magnetron co-sputtering at $300^{\circ}C$ and oxygen partial ratio of 60% (Ar: 16 sccm, O2: 24 sccm). Micro-structure of Al-doped MgOx films and atomic concentration were investigated by XRD and XPS, respectively. The Al-doped MgOx films showed set/reset resistance switching behavior at various Al doping concentrations. The process voltage of forming/set is decreased and whereas the initial current level is increased with decreasing thickness of Al-doped MgOx films. Besides, the initial current of Al-doped MgOx films is increased with increasing Al doping concentration in MgOx films. The change of resistance switching behavior depending on doping concentration was discussed in terms of concentration of non-lattice oxygen of Al-doped MgOx.

Relative Reactivity of Various Al-substituted-dialkylalans in Reduction of Carbonyl Compounds: A Theoretical Study on Substituent Effect

  • Relative reactivity of various Al-substituted dialkylalans ($AlR_2(X)$) in reduction of acetone has been studied with density functional theory and MP2 method. Formation of the alan dimers and the alan-acetone adduct, and the transition state for the Meerwein-Ponndorf-Verley (MPV) type reduction of the adduct were calculated to figure out the energy profile. Formation of dimeric alans is highly exothermic. Both the relative free energies for acetone-alan adduct formation and the TS barriers for the MPV type reduction with respect to alan dimers and acetone were calculated and they show the same trend. Based on these energetic data, relative reactivity of alans is expected to be; $AlR_2(Cl)$ > $AlR_2(OTf)$ > $AlR_2(O_2CCF_3)$ > $AlR_2(F)$ > $AlR_2(OMs)$ > $AlR_2(OAc)$ > $AlR_2(OMe)$ > $AlR_2(NMe_2)$. The energy profile is relatively well correlated with the experimental order of the reactivity of Al-substituted dialkylalans. It is noted that the substituents of alans have initial effects on the relative free energies for the carbonyl-adduct formation. Therefore, an $AlR_2(X)$ which forms a more stable carbonyl-adduct is more reactive in carbonyl reduction.

  • The present study aims to investigate the effect of Al content on microstructure and hardness of discontinuous precipitates (DPs) formed by continuous cooling (CC) in Mg-8%Al and Mg-9.5%Al alloys. The DPs had a wide range of (α+β) interlamellar spacings, which may well be attributed to the different transformation temperatures during CC. The higher Al content gave rise to the higher level of interlamellar spacings of the DPs, and thicker and larger amount of β phase layer in the DPs. It is noticeable that the Mg-9.5%Al alloy exhibited higher hardness of the DPs than the Mg-8%Al alloy, but the ratio of increase in hardness of the DPs compared to that of the as-cast state was similar regardless of the Al content. The reason was discussed based on the differences in microstructures of the DPs for the Mg-8%Al and Mg-9.5%Al alloys.

  • Influences of aluminum carbide ($Al_4C_3$) addition on microstructure and damping capacity of Mg-3%Al casting alloy have been investigated based on experimental results of optical micrography, scanning electron microscopy with energy-dispersive spectrometry analysis and damping capacity measurement at RT. The addition of $Al_4C_3$ particles results in an efficient grain refinement. The damping capacity shows an increasing tendency with an increase in $Al_4C_3$ content. The damping value associated with $Al_4C_3$ particles is linearly dependent on the volume fraction of $Al_4C_3$ particles to the 2/3 power, $f_{2/3}$, which corresponds to the total surface area of the particles.

High-temperature Oxidation of Nano-multilayered AlTiSiN Thin Films deposited on WC-based carbides

  • Nano-multilayered, crystalline AlTiSiN thin films were deposited on WC-TiC-Co substrates by the cathodic arc plasma deposition. The deposited film consisted of wurtzite-type AlN, NaCl-type TiN, and tetragonal $Ti_2N$ phases. Their oxidation characteristics were studied at 800 and $900^{\circ}C$ for up to 20 h in air. The WC-TiC-Co oxidized fast with large weight gains. By contrast, the AlTiSiN film displayed superior oxidation resistance, due mainly to formation of the ${\alpha}-Al_2O_3$-rich surface oxide layer, below which an ($Al_2O_3$, $TiO_2$, $SiO_2$)-intermixed scale existed. Their oxidation progressed primarily by the outward diffusion of nitrogen, combined with the inward transport of oxygen that gradually reacted with Al, Ti, and Si in the film.

Na$_2$B$_4$O$_7$-KCl-LiCl 혼합용융욕에서 TiAl계 금속간 화합물의 전해붕화처리 (Electrolytic Boronzing on TiAl-based Intermetallic Compounds in Fused Salt of Borax, Potassium Chloride and Lithium Chloride Mixture)

  • TiAl-based intermetallic compounds were electro-bornizel in the mixture of $Na_2B_4O_7$, KCL and LiCl in the termetature rage between 850 and $1000^{\circ}C$for various times (1-5 hours)under the fixed current density of 0.5 A/$cm^2$. The optimized composition of electrolyte in this work was decided to be 76.9 wt% $Na_2B_4O_7$-19.2 wt.%(0.7KCl-0.3LiCl) -3.9 wt.% al. The samples with boronized layer were investigated by SEM, XRD and EDS. The surface micro-hardness of boronized TiAl was also evaluated using Micro Vickers Hardness Tester. The sample, boronized at $900^{\circ}C$ for 4 hours in the above composition of electrolyte under the current density of 0.5 A/$\textrm{cm}^2$, has about 36$\mu\textrm{m}$ think layer on the surface, and its surface micro-hardness was measured to be 1263 Hv. From the results of SEM, XRD and EDS, the layer consisted of $TiB_2$ sublayer and Al-oxide sub layer. Al-depleted layer below the Al-oxide sudlayer was also detected. The activation energy for formation of boronized layer in this study was calculated as 178 Kcal/moleK.

  • EPDM(Ethylene-propylene diene monomer)계 고무의 난연성 향상을 위하여 무기계 난연재료인 $Al(OH)_3$$Sb_2O_3$를 첨가하여 물성 및 열적 특성을 조사하였다. 각 시편의 물성은 큰 차이를 보이지 않았으나, 난연재료의 함량이 증가할 수 록 비중과 경도는 높아지는 반면에 신율은 낮아지는 경향이 있었다. 본 연구에서는 열분석과 난연성 시험을 실시하였고, 결과적으로 난연재료의 함량이 10phr 이상에서는 난연 효과가 확연히 나타나는 것으로 판단되었다.

불소계열 플라즈마 처리를 통한 수직형 UV LED용 ITO/Al 기반 반사전극의 전기적/광학적 특성 최적화 (Optimization of Electrical/Optical Properties of ITO/Al Based Reflector for Vertical-type UV LEDs via SF6 Plasma Treatments)

  • We optimize electrical and optical properties of thermal and SF6 plasma treated indium tin oxide (ITO)/Al based reflector for high-power ultraviolet (UV) light-emitting diodes (LEDs). After thermal and $SF_6$ plasma treatments of ITO/Al reflector, the specific contact resistance decreased from $1.04{\times}10^{-3}\;{\Omega}{\cdot}cm^2$ to $9.21{\times}10^{-4}\;{\Omega}{\cdot}cm^2$, while the reflectance increased from 58% to 70% at the 365 nm wavelength. The low resistance and high reflectance of ITO/Al reflector are attributed to the reduced Schottky barrier height (SBH) between the ITO and AlGaN by large electronegativity of fluorine species and reduced interface roughness between the ITO and Al, respectively.
