In this study, transparent and conductive Al-doped zinc oxide (AZO) films were prepared on Corning glass and silicon wafer substrate by RF magnetron sputtering method using an Al-doped ZnO target (Al: 2 wt.%) at room temperature as the thickness of 150 nm. We investigated the effects of the RF power between 100 Wand 350 W in steps of 50 W on structural, electrical and optical properties of AZO films. Also, we studied the effects of the working pressure (3, 4 and 5 mtorr) on that condition. The thickness and cross-sectional images of films were observed by field emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM) and all of the films were kept to be constant to $150\pm10$ nm on Coming glass and silicon wafer. A grain size was calculated from X-ray diffraction (XRD) on using the Scherrer' equation and their electrical properties investigated hall effect electronic transport measurement system. Moreover, we measured transmittance of AZO films by UV/VIS spectrometer.

In this work, transparent conducting Al-doped zinc oxide (AZO) films were prepared on Coming glass substrate by RF magnetron sputtering using an Al-doped ZnO target (Al: 2 wt.%) at room temperature and all films were deposited with athickness of 150 nm. We investigated the effects of the post-annealing temperature and the annealing ambient on structural, electrical and optical properties of AZO films. The films were annealed at temperatures ranging from 300 to $500^{\circ}C$ in steps of $100^{\circ}C$ using rapid thermal annealing equipment in oxygen. The thickness of the film was observed by field emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM) and grain size was calculated from the XRD spectra using the Scherrer equation and their electrical properties were investigated using a hole measurement and the reflectance of AZO films was investigated by UV-VIS spectrometry.
$Y_{2}O_{3}:Eu^{3+}$ thin films have been grown on $Al_{2}O_{3}$(0001) substrates by a pulsed laser deposition (PLD) method. The phosphor thin films were deposited at a substrate temperature of 500, 600, and $700^{\circ}C$ under the oxygen pressure of 100, 200, and 300 mTorr. The crystallinity, surface roughness and photoluminescence of the films are highly dependent on the substrate temperature and oxygen pressure. The films grown on $Al_{2}O_{3}$(0001) substrate even under the different substrate temperatures and oxygen pressures exhibited (222) preferred orientation. The luminescent spectra exhibited strong luminescence of ${^{5}D_{0}}-{^{7}F_{2}}$ transition within $Eu^{+3}$ peaking at 612 nm. The crystallinity and luminescence intensity of the films have been improved as the substrate temperature increasing. With increase of oxygen pressure from 50 to 300 mTorr, the crystallinity of the films has been uniformly decreased. The photoluminescence intensity and surface roughness have similar behaviors as a function of oxygen pressure. At 200 mTorr, both photoluminescence intensity and surface roughness show a maximum.
In this study we investigated the effect of the multi-step texturing process on the electrical and optical properties of hydrogenated Al-doped zinc oxide (HAZO) thin films deposited by rf magnetron sputtering. AZO films on glass were prepared by changing the $H_2/(Ar+H_2)$ ratio at a low temperature of $150^{\circ}C$. The prepared HAZO films showed lower resistivity and higher carrier concentration and mobility than those of non-hydrogenated AZO films. After deposition, the surface of the HAZO films was multi-step textured in diluted HCl (0.5%) for the investigation of the change in the optical properties and the surface morphology due to etching. As a result, the HAZO film fabricated under the type III condition showed excellent optical properties with a haze value of 52.3%.

In this study, high quality (Al,N)-codoped p-type ZnO thin films were obtained by DC magnetron sputtering. The film on buffer layer grown in 80% $N_2$ ambient shows highest hole concentration of $2.93\times10^{17}cm^{-3}$. The films show hole concentration in the range of $1.5\times10^{15}$ to $2.93\times10^{17}cm^{-3}$, resistivity of 131.2 to 2.864 $\Omega$cm, mobility of 3.99 to 31.6 $cm^2V^{-1}s^{-1}$. The films on Si show easier p-doping in ZnO than those on buffer layer. The film on Si shows the highest quality of optical photoluminescence (PL) characteristics. The donor energy level $(E_d)$ of (Al,N)-codoped ZnO films is about 50 meV and acceptor energy level $(E_a)$ is in the range of 63 to 71 meV. It will help to improve p-type ZnO films.

We investigated the effect of etching time on the surface roughness, and electrical and optical properties of ZnO and 2 wt% Al-doped ZnO (AZO) films. The ZnO and AZO films were deposited on glass substrates by RF magnetron sputtering technique. The etching experiment was carried out using a solution of 5% HCl at room temperature. The surface roughness was characterized by Atomic Force Microscopy. The electrical property was measured by Hall measurement system and 4-point probe. The optical property was characterized by UV-vis spectroscopy. After the wet chemical etching, the surface textures were obtained on the surface of the ZnO and AZO films. With the increase of etching time, the surface roughness (RMS) of the films increased and the transmittance of the films was observed to decrease. For the AZO film, a low resistivity of $1.0{\times}10^{-3}\;{\Omega}{\cdot}cm$ was achieved even after the etching.

AI doped ZnO (AZO) films, and intentionally Zn added AZO (ZAZO) films were prepared on Corning glass by rf magnetron sputtering, and the electrical, optical, and structural properties of the as-deposited films together with the air annealed films were investigated. The resistivity of the AZO films increased with increasing substrate temperature and having minimum resistivity at $150^{\circ}C$. At the high temperature, the ZAZO films showed improved electrical properties better than the AZO films due.to increase in both the carrier concentration and.the Hall mobility. Upon air annealing at $500^{\circ}C$, the resistivity of both AZO and ZAZO films increased substantially, but the relative amount of degradation was smaller for films deposited at $450^{\circ}C$ than the films deposited at $150^{\circ}C$.

$Al_2O_3$ is a promising gate dielectric because of its high dielectric constant, high resistivity and low leakage current. Since $OH^-$ radical in $Al_2O_3$ films deposited by ALD using TMA and $H_2O$ degrades the good properties of $Al_2O_3$, TMA and $O_3$ were used to deposite $Al_2O_3$ films and the effects of $O_3$ on the properties of the $Al_2O_3$ films were investigated. The growth rate of the $Al_2O_3$ film under the optimum condition was 0.85 $\AA$/cycle. According to the XPS analysis results the $OH^-$ concentration in the $Al_2O_3$ film deposited using $O_3$ is lower than that using $H_2O$. RBS analysis results indicate the chemical formula of the film is $Al_{2.2}O_{2.8}$. The carbon concentration in the film detected by AES is under 1 at%. SEM observation confirms that the step coverage of the $Al_2O_3$ film deposited by ALD using $O_3$ is nearly 100%.
Ti-6Al-4V-N films have been grown onto glass substrates by dc reactive magnetron sputtering from a Ti-6Al-4V-N alloy target at different nitrogen partial pressure, input powers and sputtering times. The influence of various sputtering conditions on structural properties of Ti-6Al-4V-N films was investigated by measuring their X-ray diffraction. The quaternary Ti-6Al-4V-N film is crystallizing in a face centered cubic TiN structure, the lattice parameter is smaller than the TiN parameter as titanium atoms of the TiN lattice are replaced by aluminum and vanadium atoms. The films show the (111) preferred orientation and the (111) peak intensity decreases as the nitrogen partial pressure is increased, but the intensity increases as the sputtering time is increased. The deposition rate and the grain size are alto related with the variation of various sputtering conditions.
Aluminum oxide($Al_2{O_3}$) offers some unique advantages over the conventional silicon dioxide( $SiO_{2}$) gate insulator: greater resistance to ionic motion, better radiation hardness, possibility of obtaining low threshold voltage MOS FETs, and possibility of use as the gate insulator in nonvolatile memory devices. We have undertaken a study of the dielectric breakdown of $Al_2{O_3}$ on Si deposited by GAIVBE technique. In our experiments, we have varied the $Al_2{O_3}$ thickness from 300.angs. to 1400.angs. The resistivity of $Al_2{O_3}$ films varies from 108 ohm-cm for films less than 100.angs. to 10$_{13}$ ohm-cm for flims on the order of 1000.angs. The flat band shift is positive, indicating negative charging of oxide. The magnitude of the flat band shift is less for negative bias than for positive bias. The relative dielectric constant was 8.5-10.5 and the electric breakdown fields were 6-7 MV/cm(+bias) and 11-12 MV/cm (-bias).
