터널 시공이음부에서의 방수재 역할에 대한 실험연구 (An Experimental Study on Performance of neater Stops at Construction joints in Tunnel)

  • Mostly, water leakage took place in construction joints. In case of cable tunnels constructed by open-cut method, waterstops have been used to prevent the water leakage. But, we haven't any experience to install the waterstops in NATM cable tunnels. So, it is necessary to develope the waterstops and test the performance of it in laboratory. We manufactured cable tunnel lining quarter scale model by pouring concrete, and installed the waterstops. After filling the inside of concrete lining about two-third with water, we put the air pressure on the water, In addition, it is also carried out water leakage test for concrete lining model without waterstops. As a result, we confirmed the performance of waterstops and its adaptability. It is also tested that the performance of rubber gaskets used in concrete segments of Shield tunnelling. In addition, we determined the allowable infiltration rate for cable tunnel with non-drainage system.

Optimization of drag reduction effect of air lubrication for a tanker model

  • The reduction of $CO_2$ emissions has been a key target in the marine industry since the IMO's MEPC published its findings in 2009. Air lubrication method is one of the mature technologies for commercialization to reduce the frictional resistance and enhance fuel efficiency of ships. Air layer is formed by the coalescence of the injected air bubbles beyond a certain air flow rate. In this study, a model ship (${\lambda}=33.33$) of a 50,000 ton medium range tanker is equipped with an air lubrication system. The experiments were conducted in the 100 m long towing tank facility at the Pusan National University. By selecting optimal air injector configuration and distribution ratio between two injectors, the total resistance of model $R_{TM}$ was able to be reduced down to 18.1% in the model scale. Key issue was found to suppress the sideway leakage of injected air by appropriate injection parameters.

Evaluation of 0ff-gas Characteristics in Vitrification Process of ion-Exchange Resin

  • The properties of off-gas generated from vitrification process of ion-exchange resin were characterized. Theoretical composition and flow rate of the off-gas were calculated based on chemical composition of resin and it's burning condition inside CCM. The calculated off-gas flow rate was 67.9Nm$^3$/h at the burning rate of 40kg/h. And the composition of off-gas was avaluated as $CO_2$(41.4%), steam(40.0%), $O_2$(13.3%), NO(3.6%), and SO$_2$(1.6%) in order. Then, actual flow rate and composition of off-gas were measured during pilot-scale demonstration tests and the results were compared with theoretical values. The actual flow rate of off-gas was about 1.6 times higher than theoretical one. The difference between theoretical and actual flow rates was caused by the in-leakage of air to the system, and the in-leakage rate was evaluated as 36.3Nm$^3$/h. Because of continuous change in the combustion parameters inside CCM, during demonstration tests, the concentration of toxic gases showed wide fluctuation. However, the concentration of CO, a barometer of incompleteness of combustion inside CCM, was stabilized soon. The result showed quasi-equilibrium state was achieved two hours after feeding of resin.

  • In this study, five experiments were carried out, with an orifice located downstream of a fan in case I and upstream distance to the fan in the rest cases(case $II{\sim}$), so as to determine the optimal location of the orifice and reduce the size of airflow measurement device. The resulting flow rate-pressure drop correlations were found to satisfy the limitation of SMACNA standard, which specified an error of ${\pm}7.5%$ based on the real flow rate. The best outcome was achieved with the orifice located midway of the orifice duct 4 times its diameter long.

  • In the present study, a numerical simulation for the diffusion of hydrogen jet in a enclosure was performed to aid the leakage test of the hydrogen for the safety of the hydrogen vehicle. The temporal and spatial distributions of the hydrogen concentration in the test chamber are predicted from the present numerical analyses. Flammable region of 4-74% and explosive region of 18-59% hydrogen by volume was identified from the present results. Factors influencing the diffusion of the hydrogen jet were examined to evaluate the effectiveness of forced ventilation for relieving the accumulation of the leaked hydrogen gas in the chamber, which include location of open windows, size of leakage nozzle, and leakage rate among others. The distribution of the concentration of the leaked hydrogen for various cases can be used as a database in various applications for the hydrogen safety.

급기가압 조건에서 복합 구획 공간 화재의 연기 거동에 대한 수치해석 연구 (Numerical Simulation on Smoke Movement in Multi-Compartment Enclosure Fires under Pressurized Air Supply Conditions)

  • 본 연구에서는 급기가압 조건에서 거실, 부속실 및 계단실로 구성된 복합 구획 공간에 대해 화재해석을 수행하고 가압 및 환기 조건에 따른 화재 연기의 유동 특성을 분석하였다. 화재 해석은 유효누설면적을 측정하기 위해 제작된 누기율 시험설비에 대하여 수행하였으며, 화재의 거시적 특성과 각 구획에 대한 유동 및 압력 특성의 분석을 통해 급기가압 조건에서의 화염 및 연기 거동에 대한 이해를 증진시키고자 하였다. 화재 해석 결과는 화재 발열량의 크기가 환기 시스템에 의해 공급되는 공기량에 의해서 민감하게 영향을 받게 됨을 보여주었다. 거실과 부속실에서의 속도분포 분석 결과를 통해 급기가압의 조건에서도 화재 연기가 문의 상층부를 통해 부속실로 유출될 수 있음을 확인하였다. 이를 통하여 급기가압 제연시스템의 설계와 적용에 있어서 화재 크기와 공간적 특성과 같은 요인을 고려하는 것이 매우 중요하다는 것을 확인할 수 있었다.

DAB 컨버터용 전력 변압기의 누설 인덕턴스를 포함한 내부 전력 손실 분석에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Analysis of Internal Power Loss Including Leakage Inductance of Power Transformer for DAB Converter)

  • In this paper, a power loss analysis technique of a high-frequency transformer of a bidirectional DAB (Dual Active Bridge) converter is reported. To miniaturize the transformer of the dual active bridge converter, a resonant inductor was designed with an air gap included low-coupled rate state core to combine leakage inductor with the resonant inductor which is required for soft-switching. In this paper, leakage inductance and magnetizing inductance, core material, type of winding and winding method are included in the dual active bridge transformer loss analysis process to enable optimal design at the initial design stage. Transformer loss analysis for dual active bridge with a switching frequency of 200 kHz and maximum output of 5 kW was executed, and elements necessary for design based on the number of turns on the primary side were graphed while maintaining the transformer turns ratio and window area. In particular, it was possible to determine the optimal number of turns and thickness of the transformer, and ultimately, the total loss of the transformer could be estimated.

계획예방정비가 발전소 공기예열기의 성능에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Preventive Maintenance on Performance of Air Heater in a Power Plant)

  • 발전설비 내 공기예열기는 보일러 연소가스로부터 열을 회수하여 유효열의 손실을 감소시킴으로서 보일러의 열효율을 높이기 위해 설치된다. 본 연구에서는 계획예방정비가 공기예열기의 성능에 미치는 영향을 고찰하였다. 공기예열기의 성능지표들은 공기예열기의 계획예방정비 전후의 운전 상태와 성능변화 모두를 고려하여 계산되었고, 공기예열기의 중요한 성능지표로는 가스 측 온도효율, 공기누설률, 열회수율, 열관류율과 열용량비들이다. 계획예방정비 전후의 공기예열기 성능평가로부터 공기예열기의 모든 성능 지표가 계획예방정비 후 향상되었다.

HVAC 작동특성에 따른 자동차 실내 공기질 평가에 관한 수치해석적 연구 (A Numerical Study of the Air Quality Inside Automobiles According to the HVAC System Operating Conditions)

  • When using an automotive heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) system, we can obtain fresh outside air while maintaining the interior vehicle temperature. In this study, a correction equation considering experimental data for automotive indoor air leakage is defined to simulate the ratio of fresh air to recirculated air in the automobile cabin. With this correction equation, numerical results are compared with experimental data and validated. The $CO_2$ concentration in the automotive cabin is evaluated by considering various boarding conditions and mass flow rates of the HVAC system. The $CO_2$ concentration model derived in this study is expected to be used to control the effective air conditioning and become a basic research tool for automotive air quality control system development.
