  • For the effective reduction of structural vibration level it is important to obtain the exciting force components. But, sometimes direct force measurement is infeasible due to the geometric limitation of sensor placement. In this case, indirect force identification becomes useful tool for obtaining input force information. In this paper, indirect force technique was applied to air-jet weaving machine and shows some numerical results.

  • This paper introduces design method for air pump system using bond graph and genetic programming to maximize outflow subject to a constraint specifying maximum power consumption. The air pump system is a mixed domain system which includes electromagnetic, mechanical and pneumaticelements. Therefore an appropriate approach for a better system for synthesis is required. Bond graphs are domain independent, allow free composition, and are efficient for classification and analysis of models, Genetic programming is well recognized as a powerful tool for open-ended search. The combination of these two powerful methods for evolution of multi-domain system, BG/GP, was tested for redesign of air pump system.

  • In this paper, we suggested a methodology that can be used by an agent to learn models of other agents in a multi-agent system. To construct these model, we used influence diagram as a modeling tool. We present a method for learning models of the other agents at the decision nodes, value nodes, and chance nodes in influence diagram. We concentrated on learning of the other agents at the value node by using neural network learning technique. Furthermore, we treated anti-air units in anti-air defense domain as agents in multi. agent system.

  • Recently, emerging as major tasks are grobal warming prevention, and earth environment conservation and preservation, and the resolution of environmental issues is crucial in the 21st century and needs to jointly be tackled by all nations in cooperation with each other. This research developed dry cold air grinding system, and this ensured cold effects of machine tools and dressing effects against loading phenomenon of grinding wheel, thus extending the tool life of grinding wheel.

  • Precision positioning system with magnetostrictive actuator(MA) has widely used in manufacturing devices to control the positioning accuracy to meet the high load and stroke requirements. It has many advantage in comparison with piezoelectric actuator; high force, high strain, high efficient etc. But, the performance of Terfenol-D, the commercially available magnetostrictive material, is highly dependent on the prestress, magnetic field intensity and temperature. This paper present an experimental investigation of the temperature effect on displacement characteristics of magnetostrictive actuator. In this paper, compressed cold air is proposed to improve of positioning accuracy of magnetostrictive actuator. The compressed cold air cooling system has good cooling effect Experimental results confirming the effectiveness of the proposed cooling system as high precision positioning system are also has presented in this paper.

  • In order to optimize the rotating angle of the auto louver, the air-cleaner with turbo fan was numerical and experimentally analyzed . The noise generated from the auto louver was changed by modifying the installation angle of the louver. Flow field and flow noise were analyzed numerically by commercial tool SC/Tetra and FlowNoise S/W. Experiment was also done at anechoic chamber. From the numerical and experimental data, we can find the optimal rotating angle for auto louver of the air-cleaner.

  • This paper presents the results of slamming experiment using air pressure cylinder to increase the repeatability of the experiment. When it comes to the slamming experiment, the traditional way of doing it has been the free fall experiment. By adopting air pressure cylinder almost equal peak pressures were obtained with that of free fall experiment. Therefore, the air pressure cylinder can be an alternative tool in slamming experiment.

  • Corona discharges in air insulated electric power systems cause power loss, produce interfering electromagnetic radiation, and can indicate incipient failure. An understanding of corona discharges in air gap is clearly Important. The Wavelet transformation is an extended method of fourier transformation. The fourier method is a powerful tool for signal analysis, but it can't include information for time. However the wavelet transformation analysis can include on the information of time and frequencies at the same time. In this paper we apply the wavelet transformation to the corona signals in needle-plane air gap for the purpose of analysis of developing aspects of corona discharges. We analyzed the developing aspects of corona discharges, namely, corona discharge current, repetition rates, width of Pulse distribution region, pulseless region and frequencies distribution of corona discharge pulses.

  • In this paper, a new distributed intelligent control module based on LonWorks fieldbus for air handling unit(AHU) of heating, ventilating and air-conditioning(HVAC) is proposed to replace with a conventional direct digital control(DDC) with 32 bit microprocessor. The proposed control architecture has a excellent features such as highly compact and flexible function design, a low priced smart front-end and reliable performance with various functions. This also addresses issues in control network configuration, logical design of field devices by S/W tool, Internet networking and electronic element installation. Experimental results showing the system performance are also included in this paper.

  • Selecting individuals with ideal pilot aptitude is crucial to minimizing aviation accidents caused by human error and preventing economic losses due to dropouts during flight training. Specifically, the Republic of Korea Air Force implemented a new computer-based pilot aptitude test tool in 2018, which integrates cognitive ability tests and psychomotor ability tests. Additional research is necessary to overcome the limitations identified during the development phase. In this study, we analyzed the predictive validity of the newly developed pilot aptitude test by examining how well it predicts actual flight training performance among 1,078 Air Force officers. The results indicated that the test effectively predicted the completion of each training phase. Based on these findings, theoretical and practical implications were discussed.
