  • Agriculture has played a significant role in the national economy, contributing to food security, driving economic growth, and safeguarding the dietary habits of the population. Korean agriculture has been compelled to focus on intensive farming due to its limited cultivation area, excessive input costs, and the limitations of agricultural mechanization. In the Republic of Korea (R.O.K), the concept of environmentally friendly animal agriculture began to be introduced in the early 2000s. This concept ultimately aims to cultivate sustainable animal agriculture (SAA) through environmentally friendly production practices, ensuring the healthy rearing of animals to supply safe animal products. Despite the government's efforts, there are still significant challenges in implementing environmentally friendly agriculture and SAA in the R.O.K. Therefore, the objective of this review is to establish the direction that the animal agriculture sector should take in the era of climate crisis, and to develop effective strategies for SAA tailored to the current situation in the R.O.K by examining the trends in SAA in the U.S. The animal agriculture sector in the U.S. has been working towards creating a SAA system where humans, animals, and the environment can coexist through government initiatives, industry research, technological support, and individual efforts. Efforts have been made to reduce emissions like carbon, and improve factors affecting the environment such as the carbon footprint, odor, and greenhouse gases associated with animal agriculture processes for animals such as cattle and pigs. The transition of the U.S. towards SAA appears to be driven by both external goals related to addressing climate change and the primary objectives of responding to the demand for safe animal products, expanding consumption, and securing competitiveness in overseas export markets. The demand for animal welfare, organic animal products, and processed goods has been increasing in the U.S. consumer market. A major factor in the transformation of the U.S. animal agriculture sector in terms of livestock specifications is attributed to environmentally friendly practices such as high-quality feed, heat stress reduction, improvements in reproductive ability and growth period reduction, and efforts in animal genetic enhancement.

  • Although many local governments are supporting the environment-friendly regional agriculture(hereafter EFRA), the EFRA is not wildly extended since the marketing and consumption of the environment-friendly agricultural products are still limited. This study aims at finding out the new development source of Korean agriculture and strategies for establishing regional agriculture. For these purposes, Sunchon-si cases of EFAP development are introduced and the functions and roles of bodies in charge of regional agriculture are looked over. In order to establish the EFRA, production, processing and consumption needs to be intimately linked all together. As preconditions for developing the EFRA, four points should be satisfied. Firstly, production organizations need to be built and stabilized for developing the EFRA and consumers' organizations and partnership are to be formed. Secondly, the government should support for building consumers' organization. Thirdly, social consensus for developing the EFRA needs to be formed. And finally with the appropriate local and central governmental support the partnership among producers, consumers, and government should be formed.

  • Foci of this thesis arc an estimation of willingness to pay and an establishment of green marketing strategics for environment-friendly agricultural products(EFAR). Estimations of willingness to pay for grain, vegetables, fruit and processed food-stuffs arc respectively 20.6%, 20.2%, 19.3% and 17.2% higher than agricultural products produced by conventional farming method. And a green mark6ting mix for EFAP is as follows; Erst, a product strategy focuses on producing safe and high-quality foods by environment-friendly agriculture(EFA) to point to consumer’s health and desire for environmental preservation. Second, in a price strategy, the balance of three factors should be kept, namely the environmental value the true quality as food materials and the price of EFAP. Third, a place strategy is to reduce waste matters, resource and energy uses in marketing chain, and to simplify marketing channels. Also, it is necessary to choose the marketing channel for price discrimination. Fourth, a promotion strategy make use of programs that emphasize the multi-function of EFA.

  • The objective of this study is to analyze the factors increased use of environmentalfriendly agricultural product in school food service. For this, I surveyed the perceptions on environmental-friendly agricultural product and willingness-to-pay for increasing use to 500 parents of elementary, middle and high school. As a result, the perception of environment and safety is the highest, but health and consumption is the lowest. The average of willingness-to-pay is about 12,136 Won per month. But 14.2 percent of the total respondents said that they did not have a willingness-to-pay, and 62.6 percent said that they would pay an additional 10,000 won or less. The factors affecting the willingness-to-pay were gender, income, health and consumption factors. Despite the low level of parents' perception of the health and consumption factors for environmental-friendly agricultural products, health and consumption factors affect statistically significant on the willingness-to-pay compared to others. Most of the promotion and education of environmental-friendly agricultural products has focused on safety, but this study suggests that education on the health and correct consumption of environmental-friendly agricultural products is important.

In this research, the Environmental-Friendly agriculture was a clean agriculture not using a fertilizer or chemicals and the agriculture which protects the environment by preventing the environmental pollution. In the analyses of the consumer's willingness to pay, the rice showed 69,851 won, and a lettuce and bean-curd showed 947 won and 1.412 won respectively. In terms of current issues of the policy, to establish the stable circulation structure and consumption strategy, there must be a clearness raise of the Quality Authentication (QA) Mark. To raise the trust through quality authentication, there must be transparency raise of information by distribution stages and the thorough post management of the official institutes. Also, to persue the competitive product differentiation, there must be the settlement of the product brand on the market, development of the new production technology and a classification of consumers by incomes. • This study was focused on the system of regional resource circulation(RRC) of Asan-Si as a case region. So 301 farmers(members of producer organization) who are managing environmental-friendly agriculture (EFA) are surveyed. The RRC system is focused on establishing the system of regional complex farming connected with the seedling fanning and the livestock. The main results surveyed are as follows : First, total cultivated acreage is 574ha. Second, the total quantity of by-products of rices, beans, wheats is 983M/T. Third, the total quantity of nutrient requirement for seeding fanning is 85,335.6kg This research shows how to develop the RRC system for EFA. The development model and strategies are as follows : The first model for the system of regional resource circulation can be called the scenario of the best output for the system of environmentally friendly resource circulation. It is considered to estimate the appropriate number of heads of Korean cattle and hen which can be bred simultaneously. And the second model can be called the scenario of the regional allotment for the appropriate number of heads of those. It is considered to estimate the appropriate number of heads of those which can be alloted by the individual farm or area.
