A Methodology for Creating a Simulation Model for a Agent Based and Object-oriented Logistics Support System (군수지원시스템을 위한 에이전트 기반의 객체 지향 시뮬레이션 모델 아키텍처 설계 방법론)

  • Proposed in the paper is an agent based and object-oriented methodology to create a virtual logistics support system model. The proposed virtual logistics support system model consists of three types of objects: the logistics force agent model(static model), the military supplies transport manager model(function model), the military supplies state manager model(dynamic model). A logistic force agent model consists of two agent: main function agent and function agent. To improve the reusability and composability of a logistics force agent model, the function agent is designed to adapt to different logistics force agent configuration. A military supplies transport manager is agent that get information about supply route, make decisions based on decision variables, which are maintained by the military supplies state manager, and transport military supplies. A military supplies state manager is requested military supplies from logistics force agent, provide decision variables such as the capacity, order of priority. For the implementation of the proposed virtual logistics force agent model, this paper employs Discrete Event Systems Specification(DEVS) formalism.

An EJB-Based Database Agent for Workflow Definition (EJB 기반의 워크플로우 정의 데이터베이스 에이전트 설계 및 구현)

  • This paper deals with an EJB-based database agent(component) used to define workflow processes, which is a core function of the e-Chautauqua workflow management system that is an on-going research product. We describe about how to design and implement the EJB-based DB agent that is deployed on EJB server as a component. The agent is located between the build-time clients and the database system, and manages database accesses, such as retrieves and stores, from the workflow definition components. Through the EJB technology, we are able to accomplish a stable database agent that can be characterized by the distributed object management, reliable recovery mechanism from system failovers, reliable large-scale transaction management, and the security functions.

  • This paper proposes fault diagnosis and correction algorithms using agent collaboration, and a management model for managing network configuration faults. This management model is composed of three processes-fault detection, fault diagnosis and fault correction. Each process, based on RBR, operates on using rules which are consisted in Rule-based Knowledge Database. Proposed algorithm selves the complex fault problem that a system could not work out by itself, using agent collaboration. And the algorithm does efficiently diagnose and correct network configuration faults in abnormal network states.

  • In this paper, We describe a design of sales agent for support for negotiation during sales support on the Internet within Case-Based Reasoning (CBR) solutions. First, We propose an multi-agent system which can effectively search complex product on the WWW. And we represent databases and case-bases and propose a CBR cycle for sales agent. We then implement some of them in a prototype for a sales agent and a case study is shown where preliminary approaches are used to negotiate with a customer about his demands and available produucts in a CBR-based Electronic Commerce solution.

  • This paper suggests the passenger model considered evacuation behavioral characteristics on the passenger ship fire using a rules-based agent technique. The existing evacuation simulation system was modeled only passenger speed. The speed-based model considered passenger's physical characteristics, so it couldn't consider evacuation behavioral characteristics. For solving this problem, we modeled the passenger model using a rule-based agent applied evacuation behavioral characteristics. The rule-based agent consists of knowledge base and inference engine. In knowledge base, we represented evacuation behavioral characteristics, and chose the examples of the evacuation behavioral characteristics to show various patterns of behavior. And we simulated in the IMO MSC/Circ.1238 example 8 and we proved the simulation results could represent variety patterns of human behavior.

  • 본 논문은 SNMP 에이전트이 동적인 확장을 위하여 Java를 사용하는 AgentX의 설계와 프로토타입의 구현에 대해 설명한다. AgentX는 SNMP 에이전트이 구조를 마스터 에이전트와 서브 에이전트로 분리하여 SNMP 에이전트를 동적으로 확장할 수 있는 구조를 갖는다. 기존의 SNMP 환경에서는 새로운 관리 기능의 추가가 어려웠다. 이미 배치된 장비 내의 SNMP 에이전트를 확장하기 위해서는 기존은 SNMP 에이전트를 새로운 SNMP 에이전트로 대체시키는 방법을 사용하였다. 그러나 이런 방법은 수행 중인 장비를 셧 다운 시키지 않는 상태에서 동적으로 새로운 관리 기능을 추가할 수 있도록 하기 위한 자바 기반 AgentX를 설계하고 프로토타입을 구현하였다.

  • This paper describe design and implementation of a medical multi-agent system platform called MAMI (Multi-Agent system for Medical Image), which provides intelligent medical information services. The most important component of MAMI is a medical multi-agent system platform that supports a physical environment that medical agents can be deployed. MAMI follows FIPA (Foundation for Intelligent Physical Agent)\`s agent management reference model. In MAMI, COM(Common Object Model) and XML (eXtensibel Markup Language) for encoding ACL (Agent Communication Language) are used for multi-agent communications. In MAMI, a medical staff is conceptualized as an agent and integrated with multi-agent systems. MAMI agent platform provides an infrastructure applicable to share necessary knowledge between human agents and software agents. So MAMI makes intelligent medical information services easier.

  • In order to provide efficient retrieving results for user query on the web environment, the various searching algorithms have developed and considered user's preference and convenience. However, the searching algorithms are developed on the horizontal and non hierarchical web environment in general and could not apply to the complex hierarchical and functional web environments such like the enterprise network. In this paper, we purpose the multi-agent based web mining system which can provide the efficient mining results to the user on the special web environment. For doing this, we suggest the network model with the hierarchical web environment and model the multi agent based web mining system which has four corporation agents and fourteen process modules. Then, we explain the detailed functions of each agent considered the hierarchical environment according to the module. Especially, we purpose the new merging agent and improved ranking algorithm by using the graph theory.

  • 멀티 에이전트 시스템은 공통의 목표를 위해 함께 일하기로 합의한 협업 에이전트로 구성된다. 에이전트 시스템에서 메시지를 스케줄링 할 때, 동일한 우선순위가 역할의 중요도를 고려하지 않고 모든 에이전트에게 동일하게 할당된다면 성능은 극대화되지 않을 것이다. 본 논문에서 우리는 새로운 메시지 기반 우선순위 스케줄링 기법을 제안한다. 그것은 에이전트 시스템으로 하여금 에이전트와 메시지 작업 처리량의 중요도에 기반으로 메시지의 우선순위를 적절하게 모델링함으로써 환경 변화에 신속히 적응할 수 있게 한다. 에이전트 시스템의 성능은 저자들에 의해 개발된 에이전트 플랫폼을 통해 실행된 범죄 예방 시스템에 대한 사례 연구를 이용한 제안된 계획에 의해 상당히 개선된 것으로 보여준다.
