  • This is a study that surveyed and analyzed the present status of producing loess construction materials in Korea from 2006 to 2011. The findings are as follows. 1) More than 70% of loess construction material manufacturers are distributed in the capital area. Chungcheong-do and Gyeonggi-do are grown by about 20% on the annual average. 2) Shape of loess brick is possessed mostly by a rectangular parallelepiped. A hole shape, which has 1~5 holes among these things, is possessing a majority. 3) It was indicated to be 42 days as material age for the compressive strength, to be about 2.7Mpa for both extrusion and compression, and to be about 30% for absorptance. 4) Among the whole loess material manufacturers, it accounts for 87 for loess brick 66% for loess mortar and more than 39% for loess paint, but within 10%~15% for other loess products. 5) The main specifications of loess brick are $300{\times}150{\times}150,\;300{\times}150{\times}100,\;300{\times}200{\times}150,\;300{\times}150{\times}200$ in order of the output of 74kinds of loess bricks. 6) In order to improve the strength of building materials, mortar and concrete used loess, it is necessary to examine closely about the effect of ceramic binder and cement on loess products.

  • Heating and cooling load of ventilation is a very important part of building energy saving. Improving ventilation effectiveness can save building energy consume and supply fresh air to indoor efficiently. So this study measured mulity-zone aiflow and ventilation effectiveness according to ventilation types. Result of measurement show that ventilation effectiveness is depends on ventilation system design rather than ventilation types.

  • Every year, many people are severely injured or lose their lives in accidents such as fire, chemical spill, public pandemonium, school shooting, and workplace violence. Research indicates that the fate of people in an emergency situation involving one or more hazards depends not only on the design of the space (e.g., residential building, industrial facility, shopping mall, sports stadium, school, concert hall) in which the incident occurs, but also on a host of other factors including but not limited to (a) occupants' characteristics, (b) level of familiarity with and cognition of the surroundings, and (c) effectiveness of hazard intervention systems. In this paper, we present EVAQ, a simulation framework for modeling large crowd evacuation by taking into account occupants' behaviors and interactions during an emergency. In particular, human's personal (i.e., age, gender, disability) and interpersonal (i.e., group behavior and interactions) attributes are parameterized in a hazard-impacted environment. In addition, different hazard types (e.g., fire, lone wolf attacker) and propagation patterns, as well as intervention schemes (simulating building repellent systems, firefighters, law enforcement) are modeled. Next, the application of EVAQ to crowd egress planning in an airport terminal under human attack, and a shopping mall in fire emergency are presented and results are discussed. Finally, a validation test is performed using real world data from a past building fire incident to assess the reliability and integrity of EVAQ in comparison with existing evacuation modeling tools.

  • In this study, flowability of the mortar added with length change and combination of steel and inorganic fiber has been tested to evaluate the performance of fiber-reinforced mortar. The following results could be made as the conclusion. Early age flow of the mortar has been decreased when fibers added. Slump also decreased with the adding of fibers. For the air content, comparing with Plain, all the specimens with fibers showed higher air content than Plain., Addition of every kinds fibers showed the similar EIS test results.

  • This study investigate the hydration heat history with variation of surface insulating material in cold weather concreting. According to the results, the temperature of concrete lowers below zero in 24hours, so early frost damage occurs in the case of exposure and 1 fold bubble sheet, but the lowest temperature keeps above zero, so a adiabatic effect is very favorable in the case of double bubble sheet and 부직포. Compressive strength of core specimen at 7 and 28 days is highest In the case of double bubble sheet and 부직포. But, considering convenience of construction and economical efficiency, it is thought that the most effective surface insulating material is 1 fold bubble sheet +blanket.

  • The aim of the research is analyzing the performance of the concrete IoT management system invented with similar technique from 'G' company to certify the performance of CIMS. As a results, the compressive strength assessing performance was compared. Since both systems assess concrete compressive strength with maturity method based on measured concrete temperature, both systems measured concrete temperature similarly, and maturity was calculated similarly. Therefore, the assumed compressive strength values were similar for both systems. Therefore, through the test, compressive strength assessing performance of CIMS was considered as a similar level of the 'G' company's system. Furthermore, it is considered that the CIMS has an additional advantage of reusability, adding capability of additional sensor, and wider range of Bluetooth communication.

  • Recycling demolished concrete as an alternative source of coarse aggregates for the production of new concrete can help solve the growing waste disposal crisis and the problem of depleted natural aggregates. The purpose of this study is to investigate chloride migration of recycled aggregate concrete containing pozzolanic materials by chloride migration coefficient. The specimens were made with recycled coarse aggregate as various replacement ratio(10, 30, 50%) and metakaolin, blast furnace slag, fly ash is replaced for recycled concrete with mixing ratio 20%. The major results are as follows. 1) Compressive strength of recycled aggregate concrete containing pozzolanic materials increase as curing age and chloride migration decrease. 2) When the replacement ratio of recycled coarse aggregate is 30%, the chloride migration coefficient of recycled concrete containing blast furnace slag, metakaolin shows the similar or lower value than plain concrete at all ages.

  • This study is attempted to propose an appropriate number of measurements by checking and statistically analyzing the change in hardness according to the number of measurements. As a result, there was no significant difference between the 20th and 30th data, and in the 10th case, the effect on errors occurring during measurement was found to be dominant. Therefore, as the number of measurements, proposing 20 times in consideration of the convenience of use. In addition, in order to minimize the effect on the measurement error, it is proposed to remeasure the surface mane of the measurement surface and the test value in which the error occurs on the average of the test values.

  • This study investigated the performance evaluation of polymer cement mortar for repairing concrete structures using calcium nitrite(Ca(NO2)2) and CO2 nano-bubble mixing water to develop section-restoration methods for the repair and reinforcement of cracks. The evaluation items were strength and microstructure analysis at 28 days of age according to the change in the amount of calcium nitrite and the use of CO2 nano-bubble water. As a result of the experiment, it was confirmed that the performance of polymer cement mortar for repairing concrete structures was improved by the generation of nitrite-based hydration products when calcium nitrite and CO2 nano-bubble water were used.

  • In this study, as part of the study to reduce and integrate heat of hydration of concrete, the performance change of super retarding agent is examined in the mortar area under high temperature conditions. It was confirmed that the setting time delay can be adjusted from several hours to several days depending on the high temperature and the change of super retarding agent mixing rate. With the increase of super retarding agents, the early age strength was delayed while at 28 days the use of super retarding agent results in an increase of strength remakably.
